  1. Ha! Thanks. I’m not a big fan of bionicle either, but I am a fan of the parts!
  2. Well.. this isn’t a work in progress. The moc is finished and all photos taken of it so.. probably not going to be doing that. I’m sharing it with the community for their enjoyment rather than asking for ideas of what to change on it. Plus I don’t really see what that would bring to it, the stripes and entire back section is already studless. In snot the stripes would just be the same but thinner. Really wouldn’t make much of a difference.
  3. Thanks :) it really does. As soon as I spotted it in my bionicles box I knew I was onto something.
  4. Thanks very much. It’s comments like this that are one of the things I love about Eurobricks. I get a lot of ‘cool’ and ‘awesome’ type of responses on Soc med which are great but they don’t give you much of an idea of how your work is being perceived by people who really know the hobby well. Thanks for taking the time to give me such a detailed breakdown of your view on it. It’s good to know that most of the aesthetic details I worked into it came together well for others and not just me. 👍😊
  5. Thanks! 😊 and… well.. he is in a ship which has only one purpose, to pass through solid matter. So that’s pretty much exactly what he has done! 😄🤘
  6. Thanks. The back section was originally quite heavily greebled. I'm glad I settled on a smooth finish in the end.
  7. An experimental craft that can harness the power of neutrinos to pass through solid matter. Now Benny can travel across the universe in a straight line. No need to circumnavigate around any pesky planets, just go right through them! 8. Some good points about the legs. Certainly, if I was making instructions for this for sale for others to build then I would build some articulation mechanism into it. But it’s just for me and my display collection of funky creature themed classic space craft. It’s not going to be played with but displayed on my shelf next to the Manta Ray and whatever I come up with next :) Well…. It was originally a Blacktron craft. Benny and the crew found it and they haven’t got around to painting the legs yet ;) I do like the idea of reverting it to its original Blacktron form though… hmmmm…
  9. I did think about ordering in blue curves tbh but then I realised I really need to use up some of the tens of thousands of pieces I’m building up rather than buying more. sometimes the nature of freestyle builds means you just have to try to get as close as you can with what you’ve got. I figured as long as I wasn’t using purple or gold or something really random like that I could pull it off. 😄 Maybe…. Maybe… umm… oh I know! …. It was originally a Blacktron vehicle! And they haven’t gotten around to painting the legs yet! 😁😉 UPDATE: Origin story in original post amended 😁
  10. That doesn’t make any sense. You said the back looks comical to you and gives the wrong vibe but then go on to say it’s a great use of the Death Star… As for the legs, I had 8 of the black long curve pieces in my parts collection and zero blue or grey versions so.. rather than pay for yet more pieces (I have thousands as it is) or wait ages for a bricklink order to arrive, I thought I’d use the black. I think it looks far more menacing with black as the legs to be honest, if they were bright blue or bley then it really would look quite comical imo.
  11. Following on from my Manta Ray, here is the second build in my armada of creature-themed Neo Classic Spacecraft. This is Goliath. Originally a Blacktron vehicle (hence the black legs, Benny hasn’t gotten around to painting them yet) Goliath was found abandoned on a desolate moon. Now it is the go-to mech used by the NCS crew when a planet is just too hostile to land on, Goliath can climbs trees, mountains and pretty much anything else in it's way. Thanks for looking.
  12. No worries. I don't know how it would work on any other type of construction. It was always the best way to do this particular one though. Clips or hinges were nowhere near as secure. It is very a different type of build to your defender though. Good luck!
  13. That's never been a issue. Once all 5 of the dbg ball joints are stuck onto the frame it's in place. Even if one comes free it doesn't have any effect. It's a display model so it's not going to be swooshed around or anything... plus its absolutely gigantic so you couldn't swoosh it even if you wanted to.
  14. So this is the underside of one of the large hull plates. As the mixel ball sockets are LBG they blend in perfectly with the SNOT hull panels so they are built into them. Then the DBG ball mixels are clipped into them and the whole thing is press onto the frame. There are 5 of these in total all the way along the hull panels.
  15. They have mixels built into them. The ball and socket plates of the mixels are both attached and then pressed onto the frame. It's a tricky part of the build but quite solid once they're on. It needed a lot of testing to get the positions correct for the placement of the mixels in the hull but luckily I'd already done all that testing when I created the Rebel version of the ship last year so we could just move straight onto hull plate design for this version knowing we already had all that sorted.
  16. Thanks all :) much appreciated.
  17. Hi all, After almost a year of work, myself and another builder named Bruxxy are both really proud to announce the launch of our Raider Class Imperial Corvette from Star Wars Battlefront 2. Shortly after the release of my Rebel Corvus (from the same game) via Brickvault last August we both started work on a collaborative build of the Imperial version. Bruxxy took on the role of digitally designing the new exterior over the interior structure of my rebel version and then I took over and build tested it, refining and re-working many areas inside and out. The end result is this 5484 piece, 84cm long, 48cm wide behemoth. Instructions are available from www.brickvault.toys. The full album can be found on my Flickr page here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/164260086@N06/albums/72177720299155448 Thanks for looking :)
  18. Thanks. Good to know the shape is recognisable to someone other than myself. 😁 Thanks, good fit for the Atlantis range too!
  19. The first in my new range of animal themed Neo Classic Space ships. A vessel equipped for both underwater and deep space exploration. More in my Flickr album here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/164260086@N06/albums/72177720299046185 Or come find me on Instagram: @rubblemaker_lego. Thanks for looking :)
  20. Thanks very much ☺️👍
  21. The two ‘prongs’ that protrude from either side of the front which are characteristic features of vipers. It was just a standard viper shaped craft for much of the build and became more insectoid towards the end when I settled on the final idea. I kept viper in the name as I liked the way the whole thing sounded. Queen Bee Royal Drone doesn’t sound as good,
  22. Thanks very much. Yeah, I wish now I'd made more of the Blacktron connection. Just didn't occur to me at the time. Perhaps an entire line of Blacktron insectoid Mocs is in order ;) Thanks :)
  23. Here's a bee sized nano drone used to infiltrate bee colonies to discover their nefarious plans to conquer the world. It's a bit Blacktron-ey too... 24. Here's my humble contribution to this bandwagon, bit more angular than many Mocs of it and I kind of wish now I'd used cones for the engine noses. I was aiming for as much of a studless/snot look as possible:
