This might be a little too narrow. I agree, there needs to be a 1.5 stud round brick!- 20 replies

That's a lovely engine! The longer tender and angled boiler are nice improvements on the set.- 20 replies

Thank you! Thanks! Hmmm, that sounds like a good idea! I'll have to see if I can scrounge up some dark gray jumper plates... Edit: I only have one dark gray jumper that isn't tied up in another model, but I agree that the vertical tile would be an improvement! Thanks for the suggestion!

I'd like to share this step-by-step guide for making a simple (and cheap) British-style coal truck. Here's what it will look like when you're done: Please note that some parts used reflect my limited inventory and can be substituted. Feel free to use it for your own layout, or improve it and share your improvements here! Step 1: Chassis Subassembly Step 2: Bottom Parts Step 3: Bottom Subassembly Step 4: Chassis Assembly Step 5: Side Assemblies Step 6: End Panel Parts Step 7: End Panel (Partial) Step 8: End Panels (Complete) Step 9: Chassis With End Panels Step 10: Completed Wagon Step 11: Loaded With Coal I hope this helps!

You never know...TLG has eyes everywhere. I'm building a MOC using illegal techniques now, but their agents might take me out before I can even finish posting thi

Just an observation: looking at pictures of O, HO, and N-scale layouts recently, I noticed that the hyper-realistic scenery sometimes induces an uncanny valley-like effect. It's as if your brain expects the scene to be real and notices if the slightest thing is off. Lego trains and layouts seem to avoid this pitfall...perhaps that's one reason this hobby is so appealing to me. Ironically, the lower levels of detail and realism somehow make Lego train layouts more aesthetically pleasing. Has anyone else ever experienced this? What are your thoughts on the ideal level of realism in a layout?

Great model (and I finally understand the title!) Shaping and pose-ability are excellent!

What should I do next? #British Rail Locos

Wow...that curved streamlining would present a challenge, but judging by your other models you're up to it! -
Wow. Looks really good and instantly recognizable!

Looks good - I like the way you made the rotating guns.

As the Octan Corporation has continued to diversify its gas extraction operations in the outer solar system, unscrupulous types have taken advantage of the lawless conditions beyond the asteroid belt. Claim jumpers and pirates have repeatedly hijacked the Corporation's gas transport vessels, transferring the contents into their own branded containers...and buyers back on earth generally don't ask too many questions. Octan's sturdy little SV-351 tugs, affectionately called "tank pushers" by their pilots, turned out to be an unexpectedly convenient solution to the piracy problem. In its original configuration, the SV-351's forward clamp arms latch onto the company's gas containers. It uses its two powerful ion engines to push the gas tanks around the Jupiter Helium Extraction Station. With the addition of a pair of 40mm repeating cannons, the tank pusher has become a nimble escort fighter to protect the company's assets. Now pirates and claim jumpers can't tell a fighter from an unladen tank pusher...until they're in range! Soli Deo Gloria

You mean Luke rebuilding his x-wing into a mech isn't official Star Wars canon?! I loved those little comics (and the sets) long before I saw any of the films!

That's a nice locomotive - its size compared to the minifigs really captures just how massive a steam engine is when you stand next to one!
