  1. @Paperinik77pk Thank you!
  2. Thanks, and yes, the book was the basis for the movie!
  3. Thanks - there are indeed a couple of "disarmed" Gungans in my collection!
  4. @LEGO Train 12 Volts Thanks, I actually just updated the stripe to brown on both coaches: @Feuer Zug Thank you, I didn't even notice that the interior resembled compartments - I just intended it to keep the sides straight!
  5. @zephyr1934 Thank you! @Murdoch17 Thanks, I'm glad you found it helpful! Your mods definitely gave the coaches a more western look!
  6. I just finished the book and wanted to create a tribute in Lego form. For those who aren't familiar, it's the true story of Col. John Patterson, manager of the construction of a railway in British East Africa. In 1898, when a pair of lions began eating the workers, Patterson hunted down and killed the man-eaters. This MOC doesn't recreate a specific incident, but is meant to capture the main elements of the story. Thanks for looking - C & C welcome! Soli Deo Gloria
  7. Beautiful! I like how you've replicated the partial streamlining and the angled cab.
  8. After a recent trip to the local pick-a-brick wall, I found myself with a ton of 1x2x2/3 light bley curved slopes and set to work building an old-fashioned passenger wagon to accompany my recently renovated locomotive. I was quite pleased with the result, so I decided to build a second one and document the process for others. Please note that some parts used reflect my limited inventory and can be substituted. Here's a link to the Flickr album for reference. I'm undecided about red or dark red (or possibly brown) for the stripe - which one do you prefer? Thanks for looking and I hope this helps - feel free to post your modifications, improvements, and recolors here! Soli Deo Gloria
  9. Looks good and I'm glad to hear it runs better with the new wheel arrangement! Looking at this picture of the original, my only suggestion would be maybe lowering the cylinders and running plates. But if it runs well, why mess with it?! (I've learned that lesson the hard way!)
  10. Well, TLG is in league with the evil empire (Disney)... I hope your products escape the ban!
  11. Very nice render and true to the original! I've always thought it was interesting how Canadian locomotives combined elements of American and British aesthetics.
  12. Cool! It's always nice to see classic trams like these!
  13. Sorry to bump such an old topic, but I've completely redesigned Lord Dudley. Things I've changed from the original model: -Frame is now 7-wide to allow splashers to cover wheel flanges -Boiler now uses 4x4 round bricks and plates, with cheese slopes retained for the smokebox -Tender is lower with a grill tile railing -Wheelbase is longer for less overhang on curves. It's still something of a work in progress....the locomotive is unlit for now as I will have to rework the lights and battery box to fit in a tighter space. Thanks for looking - comments and criticism welcome! Soli Deo Gloria
  14. Nice and nostalgic!
  15. @Carefree_Dude Thank you!
  16. I guess I'll just have to start modeling GWR broad gauge so the tracks will be in scale with smaller trains!
  17. Wonderful - it looks even better in real bricks!
  18. You could indeed, and I think it would look better too. I just don't have enough 1x1 gray plates in my collection!
  19. Lego's own R40 curves are already pretty tight...you may have issues getting trains to run properly around tighter curves. Depending on whether you are building official sets or MOCs, you might have to significantly alter the bogies, shorten the wheelbase on two-axle wagons, etc.
  20. Impressive...most impressive.
  21. @Paperinik77pk I'm glad it worked for you!
  22. Nice use of SNOT throughout! I like the technique you used for the roof.
