Funny, I brought this up some time ago and it didn't seem to bother anyone at all, now? For the record I am okay with it, I do understand the limitations with LEGO and I feel it's alright considering the trade-off would probably be it not elevating high enough.

Don't know why but I really do like this, the expression on the turtles face is spot on, lazy, lumbering behemoth. Good job, would love to see more pictures.

Technic 2018 Set Discussion

Set 42075 First Responder 513 pcs also has a differential. -
Warping at what degree of heat?

Okay so I assume this is a typographical error and should be Celsius, which is a huge difference. -

Johnny1360 replied to danielwerner's topic in General LEGO Discussion
That doesn't make any sense at all, shipping containers, the back of delivery trucks even your own vehicle regularly exceed that temperature by a large margin. So before you even have a chance to get your LEGO they are subjected to temps over what TLG recommends. -
I would tend to agree with sirslayer get 42075 First Responder, good medium size set with many useful parts. That way you will know if you even like Technic then you can decide which direction you want to go with your MOCs. There really isn't one set that gives you everything you need or want, so figure on buying several sets and remember the biggest most expensive isn't necessarily the best way to go, if you want to build a solid collection of parts. Edit I tend to scour the clearance sales for smaller sets I have little or no interest in, just for parts on the cheap.

Damn everytime you post @Grover I feel like I actually learn something. Thanks for the concise and informative post, it's good to hear about this stuff from someone who knows what they're talking about.

Should you only purchase Lego at a "Lego Store" or S@H?
Johnny1360 replied to LegoDW's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Absolutely couldn't agree more with this, to do otherwise is saying quite a lot for TLG, they seem to have a very loyal customer base. -
Nifty idea, looks solid. Does the lack of CV joints prevent the suspension from actually working?

Johnny1360 replied to LegoDW's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Something else to consider in my area, Indianapolis there are literally dozens of Targets dozens of Walmarts and same goes for Barnes and Noble and countless other places that sell LEGO, most of them have online stores as well, yet only one rather small LEGO store at the mall. So one can assume that only a very small percentage of LEGO sets are actually bought directly from TLG. -

Everything that has anything to do with LEGO I do as economical as possible so I can buy more LEGO. I also believe regardless of my buying habits it will effect TLGs bottom line in no way shape or form. -
parts wear (motorized technic builds)
Johnny1360 replied to powerwindows83's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I think you are on the right track, I've seen others even use turntables for wheel hubs. As far as oil is concerned make sure it's safe for the plastic and use minimal amounts and you should be good. Use to much and it could actually attract dirt and grit causing premature wear. -
Do modern white bricks still turn yellow?
Johnny1360 replied to ProducePrincess's topic in General LEGO Discussion
From what I understand the bromine is a flame retardant, there is a thread on the second page called Yellowing in which a member @Grover explains it quite well, he is apparently a chemist. -
I would but my lack of proper education and or understanding of the subject matter would soon be readily apparent.

LEGO Ideas Discussion
Johnny1360 replied to The Real Indiana Jones's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Well I could certainly see a child eating all the candy then filling it with other LEGO pieces just to continue working the mechanism then their smaller sibling doing the same and eating the LEGO the same as they did the candy. I certainly wouldn't expect TLG to stop production and cease all Operations because little Johnny ate a LEGO element. I know I did and they didn't. Sorry if you don't see my point, it was just a thought, I wasn't expecting the Spanish Inquisition. -

Not the same at all, unless your coffee mug is made up of small pieces the same size and color of candy. -

Aside from the M&M trademark infringement it also would appear to encourage small children, it is okay to eat LEGO. So I don't see it standing a chance either. However I do have some elements that look very much like candy and quite delicious as well. -
LEGO Star Wars 2018 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!
Johnny1360 replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Saw the AT Transport set at Target today, it was the only new set they had $99.99, looked better than I thought it would, will definitely be getting it. -
Picked up 75155 Rebel U-wing Fighter $32.48 at Target, didn't really need another one but at that price I just couldn't pass it up. Oddly they had they had that new AT Transport set laying on a random shelf in the store, nowhere near the rest of the LEGO sets, the only new set I saw. I almost grabbed it, definitely looks like a good set that I will be getting but it scanned at $99.99 so I will wait for a sale. Honestly can't justify paying full price for any Star Wars set anymore, they just seem so way overpriced anymore.

Small scale, looks good, small scale is harder to detail and make look right. I agree with jar-jar the mirrors and shovel are just to big also I think the valve wheel, exhaust stack and lights are too massive also. You are off to a good start though and I think it is worth modifying it further maybe even add some doors and trans clear windscreen so you can add some interior detail to the cab

Sticker sheets after the stickers have been removed from it? I save mine and occasionally cut my own stickers from the used up sheet. Purist or not?

Nice review for a small set. Everywhere I check this is the only HP set I can find, just empty shelves. That is the only reason I am even considering this set, so I will probably pick it up on my next visit to the store. Thanks for the insight to what's good about it.
