  1. Beautiful! Something about stacked bricks that is so satisfying to look at.
  2. Nice little vehicles! (I didn't know the half stud technique was a thing )
  3. Impressive mix of building techniques and a cozy design! The build for the guitarist is perfect haha (As well as him sitting on a speed limit sign)
  4. What you've described probably wouldn't be considered as scalping. Usually (toy) scalping refers to the act of flipping sets very quickly by buying up large quantities of the same set (especially rare or limited edition ones) to create an artificial scarcity, and then selling them for considerably marked up prices by capitalizing on said scarcity. If a set goes through it's natural lifespan and gets retired only for it's value to go up and collectors are farsighted to collect multiple copies early on, there's nothing wrong with that.
  5. Ah, this really takes me back! Great job on the model, I love the funky proportions and the colors.
  6. This hits just as hard as Norton74's build! (I guess lightning can strike twice ) The execution of the design looks perfect to me, very tasteful colors and environment details.
  7. Yep, you can go to File > Export > and then choose your selected format. There is .xml for BL wanted lists and .csv for spreadsheet parts list.
  8. Gosh, those walls!! One of those MOCs that makes me wish I could be a tiny minifigure.
  9. Are you using Stud.io or LEGO Digital Designer? If LDD, it ranges from impossible to very painful. But in Stud.io you can disable collision and that allows you to position parts however you wish.
  10. You might have to switch to manual control by pressing "T", then drag the arrows to position the piece exactly where you want it. You can switch the grid size to the smallest setting to have finer control over the movement.
  11. The old parchment background looks best to me, with the black being a close second. The white/forest background has too much contrast with the model. I do notice that Stud.io renders tend to come out looking pretty dark, perhaps you could increase the brightness of the model a tad bit in a photo editing software?
  12. I love this very much! You managed to turn a somewhat goofy looking dragon into one badass looking mech, I can't get over just how good the parts usage are!
  13. I can't say much for pre BIONICLE days as well, and I would agree as well the Toa Mata's canisters are probably the best with the Toa Metru coming in a close second. The Bohrok and Barraki cannisters are pretty high on the list too. (Though I am partial to the Hero Factory canister design, I don't think they come close to the BIONICLE ones.) Indeed, the Toa Mahri are probably the worst (I don't know if they even count as canisters.) but they do look sort of cool. I personally don't like the Rahkshi canisters the most. They're basically upside down jam bottles and they don't represent the Rahkshi theme all that well, but they're perfectly fine storage bottles.
  14. (in 2:28 of the video) I don't think cross axles are supposed to fit into 3.2 mm holes.
  15. What in tarnation!? (2:28 in video) Kidding aside, animated building instructions is really dope. But for complex models, I think it takes so much effort to make sure it doesn't end up becoming confusing or waste the viewers time, if there is a very repetitive step. But for a simple model like in your video, it works nicely!
  16. Really cool mechanism! The use of the clock hands for speed control is clever. Would be awesome to view this creation from the perspective of a microfig.
  17. Holy moly, reviews are already up!? I really like it! The Hotel Boutique feels very refreshing for a Modular design. I'm not very big on Cuban style buildings, but this set sold me on the style. I've been waiting for LEGO to use Light Nougat for buildings or tackle a building with an acute angle and this building has done both! Hats off to the designer(s)!
  18. Bruh, tomorrow is today: https://jaysbrickblog.com/news/lego-10297-boutique-hotel-modular-building-2022-reveal/
  19. Incredible and beautiful build! I've been looking at a lot of Japanese houses lately and this is the most realistic representation I've seen made out of LEGO bricks! Kudos!!
  20. Hi there, it is great new indeed that the folks have been adding new parts to LDD! For your question: 1) Yes, you only need the latest update when adding the new parts. I think the LXF files are provided to showcase the new stuff added, not the actual files to add the parts. 2) I don't know about that unfortunately. I try to avoid using the decal selection in LDD altogether....
  21. Cool mod! Lowering the truck does make a ton of difference. If LEGO can find the solution to making whitewall tires one day, it's going to be so rad!
  22. So cool, the build looks so dynamic! Love the colors used for the cabin too.
  23. Boy I sure hope it's actual mint green and not the aqua color. Though an aqua colored Vespa would still be a very nice treat, but I can imagine mint green opening the doors for "fresher" LEGO designs, especially for buildings. Either ways, can't wait for official pics!
  24. Wow, all the curvy parts LEGO has introduced in recent years sure is paying off! Aside from the brilliant use of those pods, I really like the subtle tile pattern all across the exterior of the house!
