  1. Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Let it be known that the new major of Charlatan Bay Gustaf VonBricktin has officially reopened the Port to any and all Sea Rat vessels. All others should Anchor in the Bay and wait to be boarded before being allowed to make port. Any ship failing to do so will be seen as hostile and fired upon, survivors will be detained. Port Open (friendly) to: Free Traders Association, C.Bay naval assets, Sea Rats, Oleon, Garvey Port Open at present upon Special Dispensation (PM to @Roadmonkeytjfor approval *) to: Corrington, Prio, Terraversa, Altonia, Carno, Namere, Pontelli ,Varcoast, Eslandola, Mardier Port Closed to (unfriendly): none Port Closed / will be fired upon (hostile): Independant Pirates associated with "The Dragon" *Please note that without prior approval via pm your ship will be treated as hostile and be sunk/detained Also note the Port is known to have Black Flag, NPC Pirate and Smuggler traffic. Who can own licensed property in Charlatan Bay: Licensing property in Hightown, or at the top of the cliffs, is limited to by request. However, licensing properties in Lowtown is open to all as long as a tumbledown, piratey aesthetic is maintained. Stone may now be used as long as the main structure is wooden. Defensive Garrison (Sept 21, '618): 1 small fort 1 medium fort 1 large fort 1 battalion & 2 companies of regular soldiers 1 squad of militia Flag: Free Port of Charlatan Bay Description: The colony of Charlatan Bay itself is divided into two distinct neighbourhoods based on the unique geography of the island, which in itself mimics the social stratigraphy of the community. Located along the thin strands, beaches, piers, and even caves found at the base of the cliffs, Lowtown encompasses the docks and wharves of the freeport as well as the seedier businesses that support/prey on the crews of the ships that put in. It is made up of predominantly drift wood shanties and ramshackle public houses that cater to the sailors on shore leave and the minifig flotsam that have washed up on Infero Pordejon's shore. Some stone construction is starting to be used but the major part of the structures are wood. While not entirely lawless, it has grown out organically from the cliff face like barnacles on a hull and it is easy to get lost amongst its warrens. The criminal gangs who carve out their own small empires are tolerated as long as their crimes and internecine conflicts are kept relatively discreet from the powers above. At the top of the cliff lies Hightown, which is has been built with both proper planning and funds as a refuge for the well off. Buildings are brick built in a colonial style with cobblestone streets linking them to open marketplaces and plazas, and the town itself is supported by the outlying plantations. Travel between the two was formerly the province of the Porters Guild, which runs a number of winch-lifts dedicated to the movement of goods and people for an established toll rate. A road was cut into the cliff face in '617, which broke the monopoly. Recent volcanic activity has covered the settlement in ash but with the rainy season upon us it will soon be washed away. At first people fled. Then the remaining turned to looting and killing as the supplies in town dwindled. It seemed as though the town was slipping into utter chaos. The mayor was missing presumably killed or run oft Gustaf knew something had to be done. High town looked like a ghost town now days he hadn't been to the shipworks sink the eruption as he had been too busy protecting his home. Ash still clung to everything as the mountain belched smoke for the better part of a month. He had decided, while taking a stroll past one of the fountains, that something needed done. But what? With no formal leadership in the Town to address any concerns. That was it Gustaf would just have to take control. He would be the new major ... At least until he figured out what became of the old major. _________ As of now the Port of Charlatan Bay is to remain closed unless prior permission is obtained via pm to @Roadmonkeytj. As new major of the settlement Gustaf intends to reopen the port for trade, however in this transition period of re-establishing order special permission to make port will be decided on a case by case basis. Ships wishing to make port shall anchor in the Bay and wait to be boarded by a harbor official. (approval via pm) Any ship failing to follow this will be assumed hostile and fired upon. Those not lucky enough to be sunk shall be immediately detained @Capt Wolf this is an official decision. _____ OoC: After Kwatchi's story development of the volcano I wanted to build a grey scale build to simulate everything covered in ash. Also in the events that followed behind the scenes ... I want to thank @Kwatchi for the major position of such a fine port. It will take me a bit of time to get things sorted out but eventually she will return to trade. Edit: also my sig fig is unavailable in LDD as his parts are retired so I substituted lol C&C is welcomed

  5. While the sets are nice looking lego trains ... I don't see myself spending the cash just for new electronics .... I literally just converted to PF this year, But my Lug still runs 9V. The cargo train to me is more appealing but the price point isn't there for a parts train lol. Another steam train? We'll talk lol.

After taking the letter from him, the strangely dressed man let himself out. Mason bolted the door and opened the letter. After reading it he knew exactly who it was from even though it was not signed by sir name. Mason - I hope this letter finds you well my boy. I have a mission should you choose to accept. Included in this letter are a list of names, each of these are holding an item you will need to complete this mission. I want you to contact each of them with a letter stating the Phoenix Takes Flight at Dawn, this is the key phrase they will know to bring the item to you. Once you have all the items together you will need to use the legend I have also included to decipher the items. Once you have cracked it you will know how to reach the Island that no one can find unless they know where to look. The Map that no man can read is also with this letter. One of the names is holding the text to read the map. Make Haste me boy time is of the upmost importance. Signed - Your Long Lost Friend the Phoenix Mason set out at once and began gathering the items from each of the names on the list. It took several months but the visitors were mostly unnoticed due the all the excitement on the island.   11. @Bregir I think current auto growth up to large town then deminished auto growth after that ... Maybe add a modifyer for player driven ... I do think a capitol city should retain a higher growth rate than noncapitol though. Just my two cents

  17. Your main yard should be wider in my opinion but other than that this is a very eye catching vessel good details too.
  18. You really have a considerable amount of detail in this the rudder and the rigging ... The deck clutter as well ... The anchor is my favorite. I think you could build some amazing show stoppers if you work on your hull curves.

  20. @Bart Rodish had managed to fool Ratty's patrols and make it back to the DMDR6 with everything but his dignity. Before she slipped her moorings he was able to send a letter to Cathy telling how he narrowly escaped Ratty's patrols. He left out the part of the jester suit to save some dignity with the misses. The seas were calm and soon the DMDR6 made berth in Kings Port to take on supplies and water. This time however Rodsh was prepared and had crafted a less foolish disguise. He was more watchful this time and noticed he was being followed ... Quite skilfully at that. He could not give these guys the slip. From the look of the clubs he could see through their jackets Rodsh knew they would not leave him in good health. Were these men sent from his uncle? How did they know to follow him? These questions would have to wait - Two against one and they are armed. Time for some quick thinking: A distraction is the way to go I must rush to Terreli, to take care of matters. Show Rodsh creating a distraction before sailing off. A small "gift" may be in order Most likely, they are ill paid. Maybe they can be "persuaded" to to look the other way, although it will take all my cash... Show Rodsh bribing his pursuers (50 dbs deducted) The time for running is over! I will no longer take this abuse. This is not an Eslandian settlement, so this is the place to face them and get some information. Show how Rodish incapacitates his foes and makes them talk. Only one option can be chosen. The first option will get you to Terelli quicker, while the other two may yield you some information to your advantage later, when handling that uncle.

  23. I would agree the tank gives it that heavy squat look ... No take makes her look light. The sticker would be a finishing touch but overall its instantly recognised looking at the photo
