  1. I've been kicking around this idea for a while now. I checked out your blog, and I thank you for putting together your information on the rare parts. I'm still looking through your site, but do you have information on possible color substitutions? As was mentioned, the chassis will never be seen, so I do not care to get the right colors. I just want to get the most economical pieces.
  2. Great idea! You pulled it off very nicely. You build fits in perfectly. And I love your mods to the Avengers jeep. That missile rack is perfect.
  3. Stunning. Absolutely stunning photo. How did you light this shot?
  4. Price is one of my concerns with Mindstorms. it seems like a very serious investment for something I might not even enjoy or be able to make work. Also, from the limited research I've done, it seems to have trouble working on Macs. Until that's resolved, I won't risk the purchase.
  5. This is just absurd. It can? Offensive to whom? Feminazis? Really? Your mother must be proud. I thought the 11 inch Subway thing was quite funny, actually.
  6. Love the new additions! I really appreciate the fact you continue to tweak this model. It really is such an iconic vehicle on American roadways.
  7. lol This not what I was expecting to find. I was thinking Gollum!
  8. Would love to see more detailed pics as well. This would be perfect for the Argonath!

    Lego IKEA

I love IKEA! Can your minifigs get meatballs there? ;-)
  10. I've struggled with making an operational door for my school bus for ages now. After seeing your bus, I may just give up. It looks fantastic. Great job.
  11. I just don't see the need for this at all. is it really that important for people to have their creations populated with minifigures with breasts? What's the point?
  12. Stunning. Absolutely stunning. And your photography skills are excellent as well!
  13. Have you tried putting white hands on the skeletal soldier? He looks a little odd without them.
  14. It's not just the looks I'd be concerned with. Right now, the minifig is pretty rock solid. They can take a lot of abuse and not break. I think the flex tube method would make them more fragile. If they made a change, and the minifig became less stable for kids (arms falling off during regular play), this would be disastrous for LEGO. The LEGO reputation is built on quality. I played with my toys the same way. :-) I like this limitation. It makes me create within the confines of what is possible. And makes me push the boundaries of what I THINK is possible. This would be a welcome change if it could be accomplished properly.
  15. Grrrr. I really wish the biggest LEGO show within driving distance for me wasn't held in the heart of camping season. :-/
  16. Love how you did the snow on the roof. Great work.
  17. Those really are beautiful pictures. Great work.
  18. The short answer? No, don't change 'em. I don't want action figures. There are plenty of them on the market. For the most part, I agree with this. I'd be fine with changes like this, and the swiveling hips that were mentioned, but ONLY if quality is not compromised. Meaning, I can pose a minfig today, and he'll stay like that until I move hime. Conversely, I can pose and repose a minifig hundreds of times, and he's just as solid as the day he was formed. If all the joints stayed nice and tight, and now outward changes were made in appearances, I would be fine with this. Totally agree with the idea of abstraction. The current minifig assembly allows you to let go of "what you know" for the most part. They exist in a fantasy world to a degree, and I find that liberating.
  19. lol Awesome! There are pizzas stacked on everything in my Death Star. It will be interesting when she starts introducing her Friends minifigs!
  20. LEGO is a toy, and meant to be played with. That being said, it is very hard to sit back and watch my kids (10 and 6) play with my display pieces. If they just move the minifigures around, and create scenes with models as they are, I'm OK with it. For instance, my daughter introduced the pizza tiles into the Death Star so everyone could have lunch. I loved it, so they stayed. I am not happy when they start rearranging pieces, or if they lose stuff. :-/ But I can't get mad at them. They are kids, playing with toys. And using their imaginations, which I always encourage. And they both have plenty of their own LEGO!
  21. I'm sure it was a scouting party on patrol that wandered too close to the trolls lands. It became an act of war!
  22. These are really great models. Love each one, and I love the minifigures you've put together. I totally appreciate the LEGO purism your creations represent.
  23. LOVE that SNOT floor in the hall. A lot to love here. Can't wait to see more. I do, however, agree there are too many colors in some places. Not a fan of the multi-colored roofs.
  24. I picked up the Town Hall from Amazon on a lightning deal; $149 shipped.
  25. Oh my! The heads on spears is a perfectly wicked touch. great job. Really like that reindeer, too.
