Great ideas here. I have a LEGO compatible case on my iPhone, and would love to create something like this to use with some stop motions I'd like to do. It would be very useful to create something that would pan, tilt, and pedestal up and down.

That waterfall is spectacular. You really captured the look of moving water. Well done. The rest is wonderful as well. Would love to see more of this.

Wow. This is an incredible model. Really love it. And it looks way more sturdy than the UCS version! You have a true gift for greebling.

I hope this is true. I really liked Level 1 & 2 even though they are related to themes and subjects I don't normally build. Level 3 came along, and is much more suited to my tastes, but I found it totally lackluster and unappealing.

Wow. Very clever technique. Seems like it would be very delicate though. Does it hold up well while building?

Love everything about this. Love that it's Apple inspired, love the colors, LOVE the huge window on the 2nd floor, LOVE the magnets on the fridge... Awesome model, and would easily pay $200 for it. As others have asked, what program did you use to make this???

Agreed. The olive leaves really make this MOC for me. And I love the debris at the foot of the waterfall. Well done.

Very impressive. You are an amazing engineer as well as LEGO builder. Thanks for the video. It really shows what this can do. -
Very nice! I love these multi-prop vehicles. Sort of reminds me of the helicopters from Bolt, too.

Truly a LEGO Masterpiece. At some point, I need to dig out my old LEGO from my childhood, and start re-assembling some of the classics like this. Your Galaxy Explorer looks amazing.

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here

Ahh. Thanks. Guess I would have figured that out had I bothered to look more closely at the box. -
Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
kibosh replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I just finished building my 7965 Millenium Falcon. While not a great build, certainly not bad, either. I have a question though about it. What is the piece that slides down into the middle section supposed to be? Is it supposed to represent the access to the gunner stations? -
Scott, I get that this is a LEGO forum, and that we're all doing the same things. That's precisely why I found some of the comments/questions out of line. We are all here because we spend a LOT of our money on a toy. I have no problem with that, and I do it proudly. It seems people get on the case of "army builders", and it comes across as oddly judgemental to me. Like what they do is less worthy than what others build. Altezza is somewhat of an anomaly to me. Not only does he have a massive army, but an incredible castle to go along with them. That being said, I may have applied my own inferences to what people were saying. Looking back on them now, they do just seem to be curious if he got a good price. So, my mistake.

Great discussion here! I think TLG could safely release another UCS Falcon for sure. An UCS AT-AT would be great, too. And you are right. These are very iconic vehicles. Even non Star Wars fans recognize them.
-
With the re-release of the UCS X-Wing, can we hope that TLG may at some point re-release the UCS Falcon as well?
-
Awesome! Thanks so much for those detail pictures. I totally understand the build now. Great work. I wish people would lay off the number of minifigures in this model and speculating on the cost of them. Who cares? He got them somehow. Period. Who are you to question how one spends their time and money?

"The Dark Ages" - How long were you away from Lego?
kibosh replied to Duck's topic in General LEGO Discussion
My dark ages began around 1983; the summer between elementary school and junior high. I distinctly remember packing up all my kid stuff in preparation for entering a world with girls. Ironically, it was a girl that brought me out of my dark ages around 1996. My girlfriend bought me a Castle set for Christmas. She said she thought everyone should get a toy at Christmas. 3 years later, she became my wife. -
The 8880? I really need to build that again...

It's hard to see how you are doing this with all those black pieces. I see you are using the 1x2 technic brick with pins to attach the 2x4 tiles. What are the black pieces between the layers? What is allowing this to bend like that?

"People have mental thresholds of pricing." I have said this forever, and firmly believe it. Totally agree the B-Wing would have been a totally different situation at $150. $200 is a relatively new, and very high, price point for LEGO collectors. Think about it. At the end of the day, it's just a toy. That is a LOT of money for some plastic. $150, while not THAT much less, is something I'm more accustomed to because of the modulars. Easier for my mind to wrap itself around it.
-
Almost positive the Cottage will be re-released at Christmas.
-
I don't see this listed any where. Is there a coupon for it? I did just snag a few Shelob's Lairs for 50% off in store, but would love some Uruk-Hais.
-
Hands down, the UCS Falcon. Could have had it for $350, but I just couldn't bring myself to spend that much on a single LEGO set. REALLY want that one...
-
Agreed. It's just a bunch of plastic bricks. No way is there $100 worth of material there. I doubt there's $10 of ABS. TLG is still making money, or breaking even, at 50% off. I love LEGO. But, I never pay full price. I simply don't NEED it. I want it, but it's not a necessity. I only buy it on sale. If it doesn't go on sale, and I miss out on a set, so what? I'll figure out a way to build it with what I have. LEGO is a luxury good, plain and simple.
