  1. Ooh hadn’t realised they had the greyhound paint scheme in their non streamlined form. It’s one of my favourite paint schemes in the US actually - I’ve got an H0 Scale FEF-3 in the livery and of course there’s the preserved 3977 Challenger in Nevada…. Anyway, brilliant MOC, @LordsofMedieval! Will you be building it out of rear bricks in the future?
  2. Very nice @Darkkostas25! It’s an interesting prototype and not one I’d known about before. I love the modularity - and undoubtedly your PRR GG1 looks brilliant with it as usual! Best, Vilhelm22
  3. @Reza Sorry :( I genuinely really didn’t want to offend you and only thought I might be helping. I mean this genuinely - I would never intentionally insult anyone on this forum or anywhere online. Please don’t take any serious offence to this as I only wanted to be useful and have made a fool of myself. Signing off with apologies, Vilhelm22 P.S. if that sounds at all sarcastic it’s not - I really do mean all of it!
  4. Welcome to the Train Tech @Reza! I see you’ve been around quite a while but I don’t remember seeing you here. Simple answer: no. This is a discussion platform, rather than a buying and selling site - there are other places online where that can be done (Facebook may be a good starter, and of course Bricklink). Somebody might respond to this one specific message and say yes please, but this is not really the purpose of the site. A second bit of info you may want to take note of - nobody has responded to this thread in 3 years, and your comment is only fairly relevant. A question like this should probably be a new thread anyway. Generally, you shouldn’t bring up old threads like this as things may well have changed completely since then. @Andromeda hasn’t been online since July 1st, so it won’t be that useful there. Anyway, nice to see you in the Train Tech and I hope to see more of you round here! Best, @Vilhelm22
  5. Yes, I was thinking that. Did you use this pic when modelling it? Either way, great 12V era style, @0815Tanaka! And welcome to the Train Tech forum!
  6. Well I see I’m just a bit late to report this myself! I’m stunned - it’s amazing! And vast. I now need to justify spending that much considering I’ve got travel plans as well. Really like the box art saying Paris, France as well. I don’t know about others here, but I consider this to be the largest ever set in reality, as I feel World Map only sort of counts - it’s got so many just dots. Best, Vilhelm22
  7. No - this isn’t any problem anywhere here! Everyone builds whatever they want, really. I’m definitely not conforming to the idea either myself - I wouldn’t call the Union Pacific Overland Limited exactly British after all…
  8. Ahhhh very good to see this. In the future I do intend to invest in this - though as I have approximately 0 pieces of LEGO 9v train equipment I see no point in doing so until the ‘complete set’ of components is out. Looking forward to it, Michael!
  9. Very nice! Definitely an interesting locomotive to build. My knowledge of US locomotives apart from the famous streamliners and the like is very poor, so I like seeing interesting rarities of this kind. Are the rails still L-Gauge, or a different size? Just a tiny thing which you may want to adjust - it’s ‘D&RGW’ not ‘DRG&W’, being Denver & Rio Grande Western. You may not care about that but if you do I just thought I might point it out. Best, Vilhelm22
  10. Is it just me who preferred it without any named characters? I accepted Chase McCain when he first appeared and have him once, but my sets are nearly all from 2005-2015 or roundabout then, when they weren’t yet a thing, and I liked that. Even if they looked identical, you could pretend they were two totally different people in a way Duke Detain 5 times you can’t - or at least it’s a lot harder.
  11. Looking at when this thread was created, two years ago the details came out November 5th and the pictures November 6th.
  12. Have you used this specific hub elsewhere on different trains and with different motors? You may want to check the difference (if any) there as from what you’ve said it’s starting to sound to me like a faulty hub in itself. If that’s the case, you should contact TLG and obtain a new one because I’m fairly confident they’re meant to last more than 3 minutes. 10219 in total weighed 1922g.
  13. Or 20 expensive licensed minifigures, or a pointless station platform with a further 1000? The Train Station: Studgate was part of a previous Bricklink Designer Program round earlier this year, limited to 10k made, by designer BrickyBrick who also made the original Pirate Bay.
  14. I reckon the amount of rage they’ve got from us train fans, the fact that it’s built as L-Gauge in the original idea, and seeing as I’m pretty sure they haven’t yet started designing it in the first place, means hopefully it should be L-Gauge. I have Crocodile-level expectations - not perfect but pretty good. By the way with this set’s creation I’ve started a 2023 thread: Vilhelm22
  15. Another thought I just had - 2011 and 2015 both had a new freight train (Red Cargo Train and Heavy Haul Train respectively). The 2018 wave seems to have been a slump in the theme but could a second freight train following the 2022 wave be possible?
  16. With the announcement of the Orient Express as an IDEAS set, I think it’s worthwhile fast forwarding the creation of this thread by a couple of weeks (I was going to create it the same date as last year, November 14th). So here goes with the list of train sets in recent years back to the Winter Holiday Train: 2023 21344 Orient Express 76423 Hogwarts Express & Hogsmeade Station 2022 60335 Train Station 60336 Freight Train 60337 High Speed Passenger Train 76405 Hogwarts Express Collector's Edition 10308 Holiday Main Street (trolley/tram) 2021 N/A 2020 10277 Crocodile Locomotive 40370 Trains 40th Anniversary Set (GWP) 60271 Main Square (tram) 2019 70424 Ghost Train Express 71044 Disney Train 2018 75955 Hogwarts Express 60197 Passenger Train 60198 Cargo Train 2017 10259 Winter Village Station 2016 10254 Winter Holiday Train Sets with a strikethrough are retired. Itallicised sets are ones with expected imminent retirement. Bold sets are new for 2023. I’m really looking forward to the Orient Express set when it’s released, but I’m really wondering will there be anything else? Does this qualify for an 18+/Creator Expert/Icons set like the Crocodile or is it different because of hype surrounding the book (no murder was ever committed on the service)? I’d be excited to hear your guys suggestions. The Orient Express-specific thread is here: @JopieK would pinning this be advisable?
  17. A LEGO IDEAS TRAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Latest review results (2 hours ago) condfirmed Orient Express to be a new set. This belongs to a separate thread in my opinion, and it’s nearly time, so I’m going to make a 2023 thread as they seem to be popping up in other themes as well. EDIT: Oops just saw the separate thread https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/forum/122-lego-train-tech/
  18. Simple question - what happened to Night Mode? The lighting kit idea seems to have come to nothing at all since its trial appearance in Feb 2020.
  19. I’ve only had experience with one, but I wouldn’t recommend Lightailing. Flimsy stuff, the adapter cable broke in about 5 minutes and I had to buy a new one off Amazon. Though I’ve not used it because it’s so expensive, Brickstuff and Light My Bricks seem to the best in my opinion. I don’t know about Brickstuff, but LMB has magnetic conductor adapters which allow you to take modular floors apart while still having the kit installed - far superior to my experience of Lightailing I think.
  20. Beautiful. I don’t know quite what it is, but something about your MOCs means that you never fail to amaze me with your designs and ideas.
  21. Beautiful MOC as always @Glenn Holland! I’m always astounded at how much detail you manage to pack into such a small space. Your steam locomotives are true beauties and the story behind them that you give is always so interesting. @GoHabsGo I see you’re fairly new to the forum - instructions are unavailable 99% of the time. MOCs are generally designed only for the creator’s personal benefit, so people keep them to themselves for most of the time. One of the few exceptions is Tony Sava - his MOC instructions can be found on his website Sava Railways. Otherwise, instructions are unavailable unless stated otherwise.
  22. I’d agree with @engineermax here - Option 1 certainly looks to be stronger than the other, though my education in this field is honestly very poor. You’re building a beautiful MOC though - I’ve actually been quietly building the same model in the same paint scheme, only numbered locomotive 836. Maybe one day I’ll be able to build my dream greyhound paint scheme Overland Limited consist - but good to see others appreciate the beauty of the paint scheme! I’ve actually decided to use DBG and black though rather than LBG and DBG, but I’m interested to see what yours will look like in real life!
  23. The other day I saw a post in a LEGO Facebook group (can’t remember which one - I’m in loads of them) showing that the trains 40th anniversary set 40370 was available on the LEGO Shop US site for $19.99. I’m in the UK and it was unavailable here clearly, and it’s sold out now in the US. Do people think this was just getting rid of stock - and if so, any idea why it’s happened 2 1/2 years after the GWP was actually in production? https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/lego-trains-40th-anniversary-set-40370
  24. 10308 Holiday Main Street has just been revealed, which includes a trolley bus/tram. First we’ve seen of an old style tram that I can think of in recent years so very pleased to see this one myself! The set is £90/$100/€100. https://www.lego.com/en-gb/product/christmas-high-street-10308
