Future Action and Adventure Themes
Digger of Bricks replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Yes, I know, I actually mentioned and quoted his post in a response to @J4ck on the previous page of this thread. But nonetheless, I thought I'd share this Aquazone idea here since I thought it was pretty cool. Other than an entire theme, I proposed an idea on this thread linked below for a Steampunk styled "Inventor's Toolbox" type set for the Creator theme, a multiple build set that essentially would be a Steampunk part pack. There are a couple other discussions here on Eurobricks proposing Creator be used as an outlet for genres that otherwise would not be viable for an entire theme. Here are two such threads by both @LegoMonorailFan and @danth for others to check out. -
Future Action and Adventure Themes
Digger of Bricks replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
A discussion on @LegoMonorailFan's CS Creator opinion thread about Aquazone the other day made me start thinking... How does a Steampunk/Dieselpunk styled Aquazone theme sound? Could it work? Personally, while I'd prefer such a theme to be part of a broader Adventurers continuum, a non-modern styled Aquazone theme could draw from many inspirations. These could include Jules Verne's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Disney's Atlantis: The Lost Empire from 2001, 2003's The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, and perhaps even the first two Bioshock games (maybe). Perhaps Captain Nemo could be a main character, and besides, it would be a very good excuse for an awesome Lego Nautilus submarine. Remember this one rejected Ideas project? -

Which AFOL Builders do you Admire or Aspire After?
Digger of Bricks replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in Community
An amazing builder here on Eurobricks who's work here wows me ever time is @TheBrickBuilder14. He does some of the most compact but detailed minifigure scale renditions of Batmobiles I have ever seen. Here are a few examples of his most recent work pictured below.- 29 replies

1950s retro style rocket with crew - 3831 / 3368 inspired MOC
Digger of Bricks replied to Murdoch17's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
OK, thanks! I was just wondering since recent images of TLNM Zane's Tank show what appear to be usage of that canopy piece in unprinted Trans. Light Blue, which is nice as a first for the part in a unprinted transparent form. I just saw your usage of an unprinted one in your creation and hastily assumed that there was one made that Brickset overlooked in cataloguing. -
I'm a sucker for anything with a 1920s-1930s Art Deco style, so while surfing Ideas, I rediscovered this very impressive project by Ideas user Bazhenoff, which has gathered 1100+ supporters but only has 84 days left. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/3ee59488-69e7-4821-80bd-8fc3f545ac4b He created a couple other great projects which unfortunately have expired, but I thought I'd share the links here to be admired. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/90b70042-f8f5-4aa4-8f94-d5e7328d8e4b https://ideas.lego.com/projects/334ef34a-f585-4087-9139-5ee25b2fbef0 https://ideas.lego.com/projects/c1d66ed4-feb3-4a2f-a1e6-1eecca31ad68

Digger of Bricks replied to Murdoch17's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
The curved, Buck Rogers-esq tailfins on this rocket are what make this creation. Great work! By the way, are there any transparent unprinted versions of part no. 48310 (the Millennium Falcon canopy), because according to Brickset, their are only unprinted solid colored versions. I was just wondering since your LDD model used an unprinted one. -
I haven't seen this post until now, these are some very nice mods! Now that Y Wing Javelin... quite the combination! I also really like that car of Bob's, it has a nice musculature element.

The Future of Lego Space. (opinions, ideas, discussion)
Digger of Bricks replied to Trekkie99's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
As I was looking over some of the new TLNM set images, I was particularly interested in the new airtank piece (pictured on minifigure below) utilized on some of Garmadon's fishy thugs, and thought it would work nicely on a new spaceman figure paired with the S12 Space Miner's helmet (also pictured below). Now at the time, I'm still not sure if the separate airtank piece has dual airtanks like the one piece sharkhead/airtank mold (pictured below for reference). Seeing that makes me realize how well Dark Bluish Grey works in place of Light Bluish Grey for the CS color scheme! Now perhaps this would be less of a space theme and more like Alien Conquest, but thinking about it now, maybe pitting the Ninja against invading extraterrestrials would be more likely, with the Ninja fighting the invaders with their own themed starfighters in low atmospheric orbit. Ninjago starfighters could be quite cool, with medieval Japanese styling influences and many colored canopies matching each of the Ninja's colored spacesuits.- 991 replies

This is quite the nice build! I love the curved angles, the pointed front "beak", and circular joint detailing. It almost has an "automobile on legs" sort of look.

Future Action and Adventure Themes
Digger of Bricks replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I would really like to see a Jaeger vs Kaiju reboot of Exoforce (similar to 2013's Pacific Rim) focused on a Jaeger squad battling large, brick built Kaiju, and both sides' builds would have Technic geared mechanics to to manually throw punches, much like Rock Em, Sock Em but much more mechanically complex. The only thing is, any chance of another Japanese styled action theme being done by Lego is somewhat hindered by Ninjago. Your comment reminded me of this Brickworld display by Eurobricks user @Modulex Guy I saw at a local show. That could work! Given my comment I just made above regarding another Japanese styled action theme, perhaps a minidoll theme would be the way to go! -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Digger of Bricks replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Instead of simply a Scooby Doo CMS, I proposed earlier on this thread a broader Hanna Barbera CMS that could also encompass the Flintstones, the Jetsons, and others to be done instead. -
I saw that also, a most complex build, but a bit too morbid for me. I also took note of many of the projects deadlines, and I really didn't bother mentioning them due to that. But like you said, who knows what could happen. I also searched around for Classic Space projects, and unfortunately not many are currently around, and the ones that still are have not much time left. Exclude the "Gathering Support" filter, and there are so many very good expired projects. Well, at least we got Peter Reid's Exo Suit.

Searching around for some train/locomotive projects on Ideas, and I unexpectedly found this one ominous looking steam locomotive. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/afde0f66-d7e1-48ed-aa21-6d872296cbc2 This project particularly caught my eye since anything Dieselpunk/Retrofuturistic is of interest to me, but I should say, there are currently many great train projects on Ideas currently, including @Elysiumfountain's Orient Express Thriller! , which is gathering steam (pun intended ) quite quickly. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/f99d5194-bf98-4302-9181-a5201c4e4b64

I saw in this picture below that the shark head/oxygen tank mold has dual air tanks. Is this the same for the separate oxygen tank piece on other henchmen? I can't find any pictures of henchmen minifigures with the separate piece from the rear. -
Survey: New parts and new colors
Digger of Bricks replied to Bonaparte's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'm surprised this part hasn't been used ever since, but part no. 85962 (pictured below) was introduced in 2009's 8970 Robo Attack and never used again since then. If they could find more opportunities to use it, I hope to see it introduced in other transparent colors, particularly in Trans. Bright Orange, which for some reason I really think would fit it nicely. I could see the part being used for retro rocketcraft specifically, if not in sets, for MOCs. -

Are those Trans. Light Blue cone parts under the tail of the tank part no. 48310 (pictured below)? If so, that would be pretty cool to get those in that color. -
Future DC Super Heroes Rumors & Speculation
Digger of Bricks replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
This is exactly what I was just thinking of today in light of the new Ninjago City modular unveiling! I was really surprised that we did not see a D2C for TLBM, but perhaps development of one was delayed and instead its release pushed back to be slated for winter 2018 instead. The Ninjago City modular is mindblowingly AWESOME, and I would love to see a Gotham modular encasing the city in the same way. But having said that, I would like to see modulars done for many other themes. -

Future Action and Adventure Themes
Digger of Bricks replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Some of this discussion about a dinosaur centric action/adventure theme just made me think of 2012's Dino theme in retrospect, and I realized that the theme in a way is a modern incarnation of Adventurers, especially since one of the theme's main characters Josh is a stated great grandson of Adventurers' Johnny Thunder. Also, I was pondering this question the other day, and really couldn't think of a good answer for it, so I thought I'd ask it here for your opinions. What would be another good action/adventure theme for a girl minidoll theme, perhaps as a successor to Elves if the theme winds down in the future? -
Thanks for bumping this! This looks great done in bricks, and I really like the way the windows are done on the cars! I would love to see more retrofuturistic locomotives done and displayed at Lego conventions.

OK, now I see it above the one doorway on the bottom level. Too bad it wasn't train wheels in Dark Brown to complement the motor side trim made before. -

What train part?! -
So, 4900 pieces. Ouch, that is a bit much. Now I have to agree about the color issue. I've seen many amazing Steampunk creations that I felt were underscored by their lack of certain shades of darker primary colors. All they needed was just at least a little "Earth" color accenting, and the model would be perfect.

The Future of Lego Space. (opinions, ideas, discussion)
Digger of Bricks replied to Trekkie99's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Well, I don't consider them space themes either, but would definitely like to have a good Aquazone theme around if we weren't expecting a space theme anytime soon. Atlantis, for instance, had some great submersibles which supplied us with some nice Trans. Light Green canopies. We even got a couple Trans-yellow canopies the following year from the theme. And since Exo Force would be considered too similar to Ninjago for the possibility of a reboot, this is why I thought a space based mecha theme may be the way to go for a mecha centric theme, along with the premise that it would be a space theme that wouldn't resemble Star Wars. I have never seen these, nor was aware of them! That is a pretty cool alternate build!- 991 replies
