  1. It looks like the Sand Green corners of the tower shown above include part no. 30987 (pictured below) in that color, along with its one brick high counterpart. Also, the usage of the black crowbars in this picture is quite clever.
  2. Opened up The Brick Fan when I got home, saw this, and I was like.... Seriously, that guy in the Galidor shirt...
  3. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/97b9ee38-b28f-49ec-aaf1-19ed126319d4 I found this project the other day on Ideas under "gathering support" and "most recent" and was BLOWN away! It may be a bit large though, the creator does not mention the part count. Hey @LegoMonorailFan, great topic by the way!
  4. I've made a comment here earlier regarding how I think Steampunk's choice of colors do not make the genre a good fit for Creator, but still, its ingenuity would make for some great multiple build sets. Particularly, I could see a Designer style type set done for Creator perhaps named something along the lines of "Inventor's Toolbox", a parts pack type set that would include a large assortment of antique colored gears, wind-up motors, and bricks to create large clockwork powered contraptions in a Steampunk style. The set could even include two male and female Steampunk styled minifigures to complement the builds. Now I know something like this was done for the Lego Master Builder Academy theme for set no. 20215-1 (pictured below), but it would still be cool to see something like this for Creator. I was revisiting this comment again, and looking at some of my genre proposals, I found that Dieselpunk and Sky-fi can be a bit on the war conflict/violence side, something not at all tolerated by Lego. But I think there are paths Lego can take these genres without touching the conflict aspects. Dieselpunk can be done in the form of hyperbolic exploration vehicles and Sky-fi can be done as wild looking racing planes, such as the 1930's Gee Bee (pictured below). Now the space subgenre GARCs on the other hand are most appropriate for Creator since it's a colorful, weaponless space theme that fits Creator perfectly I think.
  5. http://screenrant.com/lord-miller-flash-movie-dceu-han-solo/ This article says a report claims the two met with WB while they were on a production hiatus from the Solo film, discussing the possibility of directing the DCEU Flash film after originally penning a script for it awhile back.
  6. These all look just great, I really like the front end of the black Southern Pacific locomotive! I was just looking at past topics you posted for the GM Aerotrain and couldn't find where you've posted it. Perhaps I just missed it?
  7. I still can't see that happening with Star Wars around, but maybe Lego found that a CMS is the way to go if they were really interested in the license. Has Mega Bloks dropped the license yet? I know @LegoMonorailFan would most excited for any Lego Star Trek products.
  8. I had some questions today I was pondering, and I thought I'd share them here as discussion starters. The first question, a rather crazy one, is what do you think about the plausibility of the Ninjago theme venturing into space? Would it be viable, and if so, would you be interested in it if it were done right? Secondly, would a decent Aquazone theme, such as Atlantis, be a good hold over theme in the absence of a traditional space theme? I've always thought of the Atlantis theme particularly as having parallels to exploration based space themes, not to mention the submersibles M-Tron-esq color scheme. Lastly, would a mecha centric space theme be a viable option for a space theme running parallel to Star Wars, similar to 1997's Robo Force or 2006's Exo Force? I've proposed several space theme ideas on this thread with Star Wars dissimilarities kept in mind, since I think it is a factor considered by Lego to avoid cannibalization of sales.
  9. I'm not sure if you have visited this thread, but it is a discussion by @Itaria No Shintaku regarding the future of castle themes. But in a comment on the thread by Lego designer Mark Stafford (Eurobricks user @Nabii) near the bottom of the eighth page, he says prototype steampunk themes were the worst performing crossover concept with kids, which is quite unfortunate. Now about City jungle sets, exploration subthemes so far only last one year before moving on to another region/location. But do all City exploration subthemes stand in as a an alternative to a traditional Adventurers theme? I don't think so, since some exploration subthemes don't seem to fit the theme's shoes, so maybe one of those years could offer a window for an Adventurers theme.
  10. Both of these are quite nice! I really like the "maroon" starcraft's wingtip tailfins, they give the ship a almost 1930s retro vibe, something I look for in space creations. Also, the Galaxy Explorer redux is very simple but effective. The rear spoiler has an effectively subtle sleekness compared to the original, and the add-on of the three two-stud wide windshield pieces to the rear is also another nice addition. Might I suggest, the Galaxy Explorer could perhaps use the replacement of the two front windshield pieces with this new part from TLBM's 70905 The Batmobile (part no. 28782 pictured below). As I've mentioned in other threads before, the part's dimensions are perfect for it!
  11. These minifigures look like they are a step up from the originals, both with dual molded legs, which is nice.
  12. I was revisiting this discussion, and it came to me a possibility I've never before considered. What if Lego were to take an Adventurers theme and set it in a modern context as opposed to a 1920s-1940s set one? It could take after examples like Tomb Raider and Uncharted mentioned before as inspiration for characters and a storyline. Personally, while I prefer an older time period set theme as traditionally done, I think I definitely would buy such a theme if it were executed right. Which would you prefer? Would a modern Adventurers theme be plausible or viable currently?
  13. I don't really build much in microscale, preferring minifigure scale mostly; but I've been looking at this guy's work on Flickr, and now I'm reconsidering the possibilities. Fredoichi on Flickr does some amazing microscale creations in the Sky-fi, Mecha, and Starfighter genres that require a double take to see that they are actually microscale! https://www.flickr.com/photos/fredoichi/albums
  14. It's probably attached to Transformers: The Last Knight in cinemas this Wednesday.
  15. With the release of this poster, I'm expecting an inevitable second trailer to follow to be attached to Transformers: The Last Knight being released in cinemas this Wednesday. So perhaps we will see the trailer online tomorrow?
  16. Is anyone aware of any DC Girls sets being produced for winter 2018, or is it too early to tell?
  17. As in one that is being produced right now, or a revival of a license Lego used to produce sets for?
  18. Jangbricks has done a very nice and surprising review of 31070 Turbo Track Racer.
  19. I've been pondering the plausibility of a post apocalyptic action theme for Lego, and I think I've come up with a viable idea inspired after the genre without the overbearing doom and gloom element. The theme would revolve around a destruction/reconstruction concept, pitting an army of robot insurrectionists (much like Terminator, minus the genocide factor) against a ragtag human resistance force standing in their way of completely reducing the city to rubble. The resistance fights back with weaponry and vehicles salvaged and repurposed from what the insurrectionists have destroyed so far, along with collecting weaponry from defeated insurrectionists to use against them. Each of the resistance vehicles in the sets would have one or two alternate builds, much like the Creator theme, to both emphasize the retooling concept of the theme and to showcase the versatility of Lego bricks in an action theme. These same vehicles would have Technic pinhole connections build into their construction to attach the robots' weaponry after their defeat as part of the set's storyline play functioning. Yes, Dieselpunk and its subgenre Sky-fi are definitely my thing! I think it's an element that could help make an Adventurers theme viable currently, like I've stated in an earlier post. As far as 80s futurism and all its zaniness, I think Ninjago and Legends of Chima also take after 80s/90s inspiration, with Ninjago sort of resembling a medieval Japanese take on Power Rangers, and Chima somewhat like a marriage between Thundercats and Fabuland. I've always thought an 80s cartoon inspired mecha theme involving combining robots would be perfect for Lego, though the individual mecha sets would rebuild, instead of simply transform, into the limbs of a larger combo mech. But honestly, Lego could not really get away with developing such a theme without it resembling Voltron or Power Ranger Megazords.
  20. This was shared on the set discussion thread, but this was posted by Lego in promotion of the film for Father's Day. Some are speculating it could be a potential CMF.
  21. Certainly! If it potentially catches the eye of Lego designers, it may influence a future set.
  22. Alright, thanks, I thought it was just me. But its strange the preference option is shown as if it's workable. Perhaps its a glitch?
  23. Yes, as motivation for an original Adventurers theme I hope, but I never would expect Lego to do Tomb Raider or Uncharted properties. It seems more film studios are looking into other genre options as far as tentpole films go, since they can get only so much milage out of superhero films. As far as the lack of an Adventurers theme, we really have NO action/adventure themes anyway currently, with most of Lego's focus on original properties eyed in on "big bang" themes. But perhaps something will be on the horizon, I'll take any smaller scale theme if it's decent.
  24. OK, thanks, but I particularly was trying to change the frequency of notifications of followed members' content. While it worked for topics, the same can't be said for followed members. No bell at the bottom shows up like you mentioned.
  25. In the Manage Followed Content section, I'm trying to change the frequency of followed content notifications from immediate to weekly, but it won't change. Is this only enabled when you reach a certain post count?
