  1. So part no. 87754 in Black? That's nice, especially if you pair it with the accompanying visor piece in Trans-yellow from year two Atlantis sets, perfect for Blacktron I.
  2. I was looking over the Ideas house guidelines to become more familiar with them, and I found these two particular rules that had some particular questions about, so I thought someone here might know what the answers to these are. https://ideas.lego.com/guidelines In the first part of the main guidelines article titled "What is a Project", there is a excerpt that reads: Would this also include Creator like projects that offer multiple alternate builds beyond the main one? Now in the fourth part of the article titled "Acceptable Project Content", a subsection reads: Would this include homaged reimaginings of of classic Lego sets, such as the Yellow Castle and the LL928 Galaxy Explorer? Maybe it depends upon how much the build and design differs?
  3. I think that the Ideas staff would seriously consider a well done train project if only one would actually pass the 10K threshold, which really hasn't happened. As far as the one exception to that, I think Ideas rejected the Vintage Tram project is because it was just too small as a standalone. I know a small size may seem like a positive for Ideas projects, but in this case, it just must have seemed too insignificant by itself without something extra. But, hopefully it will be the start of a new wave of interest in such projects, since after all, those projects need to pass 10K if they are even going to be considered.
  4. I think most kids dig any sort of Mecha/Walkers, even less colorful, nondescript ones like the Star Wars AT-AT and AT-ST. Yeah, they're pretty well done even though they have "chibi" proportions; but in a way, I guess it could be argued they have been unintendedly reinterpreted into minifigure proportions. Just in the same way the Jaegers' proportions in the film are alike to that of a human's, these brick built ones sort of line up with Lego minifigures'. So if you think of them that way, that makes them even cooler. Perhaps Lego could consider that when designing minifigure scale mecha for sets.
  5. Well, this is what has been so far confirmed by various sources on @Robert8's S18 Rumor topic.
  6. Thanks @TheBrickBuilder14 for the reference pictures, I wasn't familiar with that comic variant. I guess that just like in the past, DC Comics adapted the Arkham game design to create the New 52 design. After seeing you do more Batwings, I would love to see your take on TDKR Bat and the DCEU Batwing.
  7. I know "constraction" generally refers to either Ultrabuild or the old Bionicle Technic system, but I too would like to see Lego head more towards the original, brick based System for constraction themes in the future, perhaps even fusing/combining Technic into such constructions. Hey, I've never seen those before, those are cute! I should also mention these great chibi styled ones by Flickr user Moko, unless you may have seen them also.
  8. That is a very nice improvement to the Arkham Batwing, much cleaner looking and less studful. By the way, what reference pictures did you use for the New 52 Batwing? I'm not finding a picture of it in a general image search.
  9. That's an excellent idea, certainly would be a easter egg bomb of references! I really wish something like this was happening, but instead, we are getting an entire CMS of stupid* costumed figures for the minifigure's 40th anniversary next year. * Sorry, but not only do I not care for those CMFs, to do that seems like such a waste of an occasion.
  10. A inter city train like the one in 2010's 8404 Public Transport Station would be cool, just as a standalone set minus additional transport vehicles and terminal.
  11. The only figure I would want would be a Gotham By Gaslight Batsuit, preferably with a recolor of Vacation Batman's Speedo goggled cowl. I do believe that @rob-ot5000 has confirmed that those two characters will be in the second CMS, surprisingly.
  12. Many on Eurobricks have voiced their wishes for Classic Space to make a presence in the Creator/Creator Expert theme, particularly, @LegoMonorailFan and @danth being the proposal's biggest proponents here. While some have said that a Creator Expert D2C would be the most ideal scenario, I myself would much rather prefer to see a multitude of smaller non-Expert Creator sets, ranging anywhere in price from $20 to $70 at the most. While they may not feature any minifigures, I think the gain of potentially new Trans-yellow canopy recolors would be better for these sets, and their cheaper price would make them much more attainable for kids. Well then, what do think of this idea I proposed on the previous page of this thread for small, three in one medieval village houses? I figured it would be a successful idea due to the popularity of modern, three in one houses for the theme, so why not medieval ones?
  13. What about a dragon hunters theme, revolving around a rouge band of bounty hunters tracking down dragons for capture and/or elimination for a reward? I'd imagine these rouges be more akin to forest men than knights, though a cross between the two archetypes would be kind of cool. Now not in a Nexo Knights sort of way, but I suppose such a theme could also equip our heroes with some steampunk styled combatcraft, including something like a siege tower/battering ram mech with fireball catapults. What would you think of such theme, and also, would it be attractive to kids?
  14. Does anyone think that 2018's offerings for the train subtheme will just be a rehash of the 2014 sets (train station, freight train, high speed passenger train), or are you potentially counting on something new for next year?
  15. Wow, this thread hasn't been bumped in awhile! I checked out The Brick Fan yesterday, and he has reported on these rumors citing a new video from @just2good doing the same.
  16. Oh yeah, I forgot about that subtheme, though I should mention it came out a year after Pacific Rim's 2013 release. But the inspiration is definitely there, especially in the design of its "Kaiju".
  17. The only thing I would be interested in from a HP revival would be a D2C Hogwarts Express. For castle fans, a Hogwarts Castle is a castle, but I'm pretty sure most would prefer a traditional, unlicensed one over that. Train fans, on the other hand, would take most anything I'm pretty sure; and an Expert quality Hogwarts Express would make for an excellent set.
  18. Hold on 2018, 2017 has at least one train related set in store before the close of the year!
  19. Thanks for the heads up, this is really good news! I was hoping something like this would be the next addition, now I'm hoping we will see it come with some sort of holiday themed trolley/tram! I can't translate it into English myself, but I presume this is the link, right? https://www.promobricks.de/lego-creator-expert-winter-holiday-set-10259-winterliche-bahnstation/38901
  20. If Marcos Bessa said this set is going to be particularly large, I'd imagine that it would be a town square sort of set, with multiple buildings as opposed to a single focal pointed one. Having said that though, a train station/depot would be nice, especially if it came with a tram/trolley to make up for the rejection of the Vintage Tram project.
  21. An Orca? That's got to be one big animal mold. I'd imagine it would feature an opening mouth like Lego sharks do. By the way, do you know of any "Fun at the (insert here)" people packs for summer next year, and perhaps do you also know how many sets there are for the train subtheme?
  22. When I first saw the piece after someone spotted it on the JL Batmobile, I thought Brickset would reveal other sets or potential recolors the part came in. But surprisingly, there are no other sets it has appeared in other than the Flying Fox. Well, I suppose we may see more usage of it in any of September's Star Wars sets, perhaps recolored in Light Bluish Grey.
  23. I should add, if you may not be aware of it already, Sir Von Lego has confirmed the return of the train subtheme for City next year!
  24. Hmm, I didn't even think of that, if the undead insect theory proves right that is. I guess like 2013's Insectoids from Galaxy Squad, we could see canopies like part no. 86500, 95198, 87752, and other bubble like parts in Trans. Green recolors if this would indeed be the case.
