  1. Great ogre! Looks very realistic! I like the banding in the rocks too.
  2. Nice build! I really like the inverted slopes to make the inverse corner at the base of the wall. It looks great. Kind of a bloodthirsty story, but it fits Varlyrio well. The texture on the tower is very good, although to my eye there may be one too many colors. They're all muted so it blends all right, but it's just a little too busy. I can't tell what I'd remove, the green or maybe the tan, but I think I'd try it with a little less. Overall a very nice job, and I look forward to more of yours!
  3. Ooh! Nice scene! Love the bridge, and that small angle on the stream wall is awesome and really breaks up the linear line of sight. The tree looks good, and the plants growing on the water look natural. Nice job!
  4. Nice vig! I like the sidewalk, too. The door frame over the main door is well done, particularly with the limited space. I wish I could see more of the yellow building, but it's hard given the space. Nice story too!
  5. Very cool vignette! Love the white outline of the windows, and the half-bridge implying a continuation is very clever. It lends to a much larger size of the whole scene. Nice use of the candlesticks as a door frame, and the detail of the flags hanging over the walk are awesome. Great work!
  6. Very cool! I love the rockwork. Looks very natural. The purple and lime of the goblin go well with the build!
  7. Nice little corner of Varlyrio! The colors look great, and I like the edge near the water. The small jail cell looks nice, too. I particularly like the roof on the orange building.
  8. My thoughts exactly. I can't seem to follow this anymore. A TV guide summary would be beneficial for me.
  9. Cute little vignette, and nice use of the old stickered piece!
  10. Love the upside down plates in the floor! The chairs in the second build look good, too. The story is still a little hard to follow, particularly through the use of the Italian, which crosses the line from flavoring words to dialogue. I think it's a nice idea, but in this case may begin to interfere with comprehension in a story this complex. And again, is this Di Carlo or Di Carli? Did the name change?
  11. You have a real knack for photography. Love the off-camera tree that hangs into the top corner. Filling the edge with Lego instead of showing the edges of the build really draws the viewer in. Nice detail and use of color on the main building, and I like the one plate steps going to the water. The perspective build is fantastic. I'm usually not a fan of painted backgrounds but you matched the color so well I had to do a double take to see if it was brick built or not! The reeds and plants look very natural, and the fountain is great. Keep up the good work!
  12. Nice work! I think underwater builds are double-edged. They are difficult to convey the feeling of being underwater and yet they're a very different world so you can use unusual parts and colors. I think you did a great job here balancing them. Love the minis, particularly the orange guy. Fun use of the hair parts, and I like that your story is short and clear. Great job!
  13. Hilarious use of the welding torches! I like the monkey on the wall, and really appreciate the time taken to raise the intricate carpet just slightly to make it look like a rug. Nice detail on the tiles on the walls, and I really like the brick built legs of one of the hooka smokers, it really looks natural. Lots of fun detail here, nice work!
  14. Awesome! I saw this and immediately thought of the throwback to the Albion thread. Love the roof with the dark green slope wedges. The overall design is great, and I like the two toned greens. Nice brickwork on the lower level too. The real eye opener to me is the interior! I love the stained glass, and the cellar is great. Nice job showing you don't need a white background for your pics, either, since they look great on black. I really enjoy seeing your work!
  15. Nice job! I like the dark red helmet. The consistency between the dark red figs is great, and I like the unusual bottom torsos on the first pic!
  16. I like the idea of the tomb and the scene written there. I am not a fan of the painted background. I think it would have been better if it were a blurry Lego background, or plain, since I find it distracts from the build. I would also suggest that the top of the tomb be built up around the mini by one plate to hide the gap on the back created by the angle on the legs. I appreciate the time taken to write the story and keep it consistent with the canon, and you did a nice job on the minis. Love the Kylo torso! Keep up the good work!
  17. Simple, small, beautiful. The slopes look great for the snow, and the rabbit is funny. Good to see Sir Glorfindel back again!
  18. Really beautiful work. I always enjoy seeing your builds. Love the shingle roof on the well. The dark brown is a real standout on this build. Thanks for sharing!
  19. Nice! I would not have thought of making a tree out of bones, but it looks good. Curious to see where this story is going!
  20. I understand about moving. I moved a couple of months ago and will be in temporary housing for probably another 1.5 years, so all my bricks are in storage. Very frustrating! Good luck getting back to your bricks in autumn!
  21. Fun! I love the story and the idea. Great use of the various unusual minifig parts and the combo of Disney and SW. The dead animals hanging upside down is great, and the raised baseplate really works. I like all your stacked stems for pine trees, and how much lush vegetation you crammed into the baseplate. Kudos to writing a story and thus a reason for the build. Looking forward to your next build!
  22. *Applause* This build is amazing. Not just for sheer size, although that is impressive. At a first glance, there are a few things that people notice: it's big and detailed. There's a lot of texture to the walls, and a ton of details inside. On a deeper look, there are a few things that more experienced builders would really appreciate. I think the most impressive to me is the elevation change in the landscape. You managed to put in a significant slope to the land and yet it seems organic. The rockwork is nice, and the waterfall adds a sense of height, but the juxtaposition of the almost terraced layers of rock that would occur naturally with the much smoother pathway that would have been created artificially and worn down over the years is superb. The castle also looks like it was built on the rocks, and not just thrown down on some rock somewhere. I particularly like the pine tree on the right. If I were to quibble, the only thing that looks a little out of place are the cattails near the top of the falls. In my experience, they are usually only found in boggy, muddy soil near still water. The rushing water on rock seems unlikely to harbor them. Lower, where there is an eddy, they appear less out of place in my mind, but I really had to look in this build at detail before I saw that! The second major accomplishment here is the minifig scale of the build. So many times large builds are just a little too big or small for a mini, and you've nailed it. This could be an official set (were it not unbelievably expensive) based on scale. The eye level perspective shot looks like artwork and is really helped by this. I know this probably took a huge amount of bricks so you probably can't leave it together, but I'd love to see this in person at a show sometime. The interior is a thing of beauty. I love the intricate details, particularly the attention paid to practical ones. You could have thrown a bunch of ornamentation in there, but instead have opted to give precedence to practical things like ladders and stairs. I think this helps sell the idea of the fortress as a military machine rather than some Disney palace. The library is awesome, and I like the little hidden details like the treasure! And that's a lot of golden tipped spears!
  23. I'm late to the game, but as always, your figures are top rate. Love all the ideas and details. Great job!
  24. Great builds! Lots of detail here, and I like how it all runs together for Walt. The dragon head is well done, hard to avoid light leaks, but yours looks nice. The archer in the tree is a nice touch, and the throne room is very polished with lots of small ornate details that really add to the feeling of a royal presence. I think my favorite has to be the first one, with the dive into the water. What a great idea and execution! I could think of no better way to show this. And the arch is fun to boot!
  25. Great little build! When did the balloon pieces come in dark orange? They look great and I only remember them in pink and other weird colors. They lend a great sense of contour here. Love the tattered cape for a sheet over the door and Sauroman's hair for the guy. Nice use of the Ninjago snake head, too. Well done!
