  1. Whoa, you have some really bold color choices here! I'm impressed how well they all work together, but they do. The color blocking is pretty dramatic, but draws some great distinctions between buildings. Love the staircase with the SNOT rail! I think the bard is playing his violin backwards.... The vine looks good, and that blue and tan building is really spectacular. The glass store looks good, neat and orderly as you'd expect from a place with fragile merchandise, and the olive leafed tree looks very natural. The dwarven beer seller is great (EclipseGrafx beers?) and the canoe with the gold trim looks sharp. I like the mushroom seller too. The bright green under the water is an interesting choice, but definitely makes it look like some organic matter is just below the surface. Great job, and I am enjoying seeing all your builds!
  2. Fantastic! I really love this build. There's so many great things going on here. The olive and dark tan really work together, and they contrast with the dark brown perfectly. The color blocking on the various levels looks great too. That old pony looks weird in a field now that we have a newer one, but it works perfectly as the sign for the drunken pony! You did a great job posing the mounted patrol in an action shot. It really looks like they are moving with some sort of urgency. The arrangement of various shields over the arch looks great, and I love the owls at the top. Great use of the Dr. Strange cape on the nobleman, I'll have to remember that for my builds! The shipwright bay is a great idea, and well executed. Love the hanging cloth, it looks realistic. Kudos for using the old 33 degree corner slopes. I've always loved those pieces for some reason. Awesome build, and some excellent photography to boot!
  3. Nice! I like the barding helmet on top of the pavilion! You also make great use of the new sand blue hinged pieces and the white double - half arch (does that just make it a whole arch? So confused...) I love how the guy holding the apple is leaning out of the way like "DON'T SHOOT ME!" Great use of the BAM torsos with the CMF hair and the old TMNT shredder helmets on the minis, they look awesome. I definitely like the new targets better than the old one. My only suggestion might be to use a white background for the photo when you have a dark green base. Most of the pics are pretty good, but the last one some of the detail is lost in the lack of contrast a bit, but the photography is sharp and well done. Beautiful build!
  4. Wow, that ballista is top notch! Really awesome. The whole build is great. I like how you made it so it comes apart, and some of the great textures you have in the windows from the various decorative bricks you use in there. The dark grey is an interesting choice, but I think you chose some good colors to go with it, many of the more muted tones, so it works. I like the winery storage with the samples of various 'grapes' on the table! The public forum with disgruntled townsfolk is also superb. One suggestion I might have, since I have done the same thing in some of my builds and tend to notice it, is to have the vines (the olive 3 leaf plants) a little more densely packed to make them appear more connected, but this is kind of minor. It's great to see you building and posting these great Cedrica builds. Nice job!
  5. We will just say there are a LOT of servants with scrub brushes! I don't think I'll be in europe this year, and I understand about transporting it. How much does this weigh? I'm guessing 20+ kg?
  6. You've got a lot of really cool things going on here. For one, you have some nice color choices here with the dark orange and tans, although the build is small enough you could argue many things could work. However, the subtle touches you have really add detail that is hard to see at first glance. The floor tiling with the tan ingots, the upside down hood as a hanging planter, and the minecraft head as a chopping block work great. The bucket handle stools are also nice, and I like how you have made some delicate cross legs for the table. The GIF showing the fire is a nice touch as well. I like the droid head as an onion, too! Thank you for the video. I really appreciate seeing how people build, since it helps me learn new techniques. Great job!
  7. I looked at the first picture and thought "Oh, Gideon built a microscale lighthouse. Wait. Is that a minifigure? Whoa! That's HUGE!!!" This thing is amazing. It is a tour de force in bricks. The half-stud offset as it increases in height is subtle and quite nice. The detailing in bricks on the way up is amazing. The details like the seagulls on the rocks are very nice, although I would argue that there is not nearly enough seagull droppings all over this huge structure to be realistic! (You'd need a TON of white for that!) I like the way you've color blocked the levels, and the light kit looks great. The sand green house at the bottom looks good, and the statue is a nice touch. Really amazing work. I'd love to see this in person at a show!
  8. Oooh! I love these colors! This is a great build, even for you (which is saying quite a bit). I like the differential in height from one side to the other, and the functional crenelations on the wall. The footer looks good, and the decorative shield above the door is a nice touch. I particularly like the fountain on the inside of the wall, which would have great importance in the desert (as opposed to Avalonia, where one might find a well outside a protected wall, for instance). I really like the blue colored house, and the canopy over the chair on the roof is great. The dark orange looks good here, and yes, I noticed your bits of sand red! Interiors on the house are nice, and the functional portcullis is amazing! Great job!
  9. What a cool build! The dark grey tower is great, especially with the batter at the base. The small structure attached at the base looks good, and I love the blue door. The sharp, distinctive architecture looks good and makes the structure look well cared for. I love the firewood shed and splitting log. The black squirrel on the tree stump is a nice touch as well. The irregular base looks great, and I wish I could build water like that. I think my favorite part is the snow. It really looks natural, like it recently fell, which is something I think is difficult to achieve with Lego. The original build looks good, but you knocked it out of the park here. The dark brown pier is great, and I really like the angled rocks on the ground that eliminate the normal 90 degree grid Lego is built on. Love it!
  10. Wow, this build is crazy! The size, and all the detail! I love the detail on the tudor style, from the dormer windows to the triangle pieces. The brick built doors are superb, and I like the firewood outside. The steep roof comments on how much snowfall the area gets and the snow looks good on the ground around. I'm not entirely sure how I like the aqua implying ice on the main part of the roof since I rarely see ice like that there (although trans clear may work), but it does look good on the ground. I would love to see the icicles vertical since they would be dripping to the ground, but I'm not sure how I'd do that given the pieces available. The second picture with the mini shoveling snow, with the building out of focus in the background looks like it's out of a movie! Really amazing work.
  11. Gorgeous! I think it's interesting how, even with essentially the same color palette and the same perspective, you have managed to build two different fortresses with two different characters. I like your square towers with SNOT rock studs. It works well here. You do an amazing job with the snow, particularly on the battlements and towers. I think that using sloped rockwork can be dangerous and look too simplistic, but you have managed to make it look more random and natural, which is not an easy feat with slopes. Love the interior here! The sword above the door is great decoration, and I like all the candelabras. Great job!
  12. On its own, this is a great build. I definitely get the sense of Avalonia, with the traditional castle look and all the greenery. Your mix of new and old grey is great and gives a natural look to the stone (which was never uniform in real life). The interesting curvature you take to the battlements draws the eye in, and you have a nice height difference in the tower. I like the top of the flagpole too, with the gold. The irregular base looks very organic and is well done. You've done a nice job with the stone path, making it look like someone put forth an effort to lay down stone but it's not some well-maintained Roman-style road. Similarly the tall grasses, plants, and weeds to the side of the road look like the wall is the edge of civilization, which it probably is. The signposts are a great touch too. The 360 view is really cool, and I like the chicken coop. The guy cutting up carrots is really good, and it's obvious he's preparing dinner on the nearby fire. Your scenes are always so life like and interesting. I have to come back to them a few times to catch everything that's going on. The ruffled collar on the mushroom is great! I haven't seen that before, but it really works! Now, I must say, I am very impressed how far you have come as a builder. Not that you were poor quality before, but your use of more advanced techniques and really novel uses of things is everywhere now, and I think you make some great contributions to the guilds. I know that my building haven't progressed nearly as far in the same span of time! Keep up the great work, and I look forward to more of your builds and stories!
  13. I don't know if you and I are just on the same wavelength or not, but I really love your builds. This is no exception. The upper part looks very much like I would expect the streets of Cedrica to look like, and is reminiscent of the Harry Potter Diagon Alley set to me. Color choices are great, the interiors are superb, and it's of a scale to be played with as a set. I like the baker, and the tailor with the shiny cloak is fantastic. I also like your curvature on the tower. The black roof here really looks nice, especially with the two slopes. The black and white tudor looks good, and your golden stature is awesome. I particularly like the fish stand, with the NPU on the sign and the Ninjago CMF head, but also putting the stand at an angle to make it appear more natural. Of course, the real star here is beneath the city, and the sewer drain near the fish stand is fantastic! I LOVE your depiction of the drow. I think they are some of the best I have seen. The planks at angles, the SNOT use of the dark green for water, the repurposed sails as tattered curtains, and the hilarious appearance of Blinky the three-eyed fish from the Simpons is awesome! The storyline here is hilarious, from the coin falling down the sewer to the guy barfing from the bat stew... I love this concept that behind that facade of normal life, there's always something nefarious lurking! The sense of humor here is really awesome. I love the subtlty of it. You have a real eye for selecting the minis here. The guy with his glasses on his head, the masked assassin, the scribble cop face guy, and the guys passing cards to one another cheating at the table... all really amazing and obviously carefully selected. It's not always easy to convey what a mini is doing or feeling, and you capture this well. And then to make sure the whole sewer build not only fits under the main build but also folds up to open and close? Unbelievable. Keep up the fine work!
  14. Really well done. The small details here are fantastic, like the vertical plates for boards near the roof, and the extreme detailing in the walls. The overall dark color works here, and your picture is well lit enough to see what's going on. Your shelving is well thought out, and I like your railings as well. I like your technic pin candles, and your curtains look good too. Any story with this, or just a building in Oxenfurt? Either way, very nice.
  15. Ah, good old brittle brown. I see one of your reddish brown 1x1 cylinders has the bottom cracked. When I built my palisade wall I must have lost almost 20 of those silly things. I lost probably 5 reddish brown pieces of various types putting the Jade Tower together. It is the curse we all live with! Your build, however, is superb. The dark brown and lime work quite well together as others have mentioned, and I like how you tied them both in with the green, olive, and reddish brown. The brick built flag is great too. You have your signature elevation changes in here, which really look great. I like your roof too, both in color choice and how sharp it looks. The spiral staircase is good, although it's always a space-hog in small builds like this. Your vinework on the tower is very natural and looks great. Did you photoshop the candle light or are those LEDs in there? Either way they look good. Beautiful work!
  16. Oh man, I want to learn to make water like this. The cold, deep water with the wind blowing across the surface can be felt! The sea serpent is awesome, and a great use of that wedge part with eyes. I really like the frozen broken up ice chunks with the polar bear on it. They look great! Although we now have the molded sheep, I like the brick built ones you have here, and the use of the cloud plates is ingenious! Speaking of some ingenious designs, the twisted rubber band is absolutely perfect for the Norse house. The peak of the roof is really nice, and that symmetry seems very simple but looks quite complicated to pull off in reality. I think you do a good job of blending the old school molded trees with some newer brick built ones, and I like your use of the twisted tiles on the roof. I would not have thought of that!
  17. Funny enough, I really enjoyed your original build. This is obviously larger, and you have progressed as a builder, but the original is quite nice and stands on its own in my opinion. I do, however, really appreciate that you can tell this is a remake of the original build, an improvement without deviating from the original intent. You have really captured the cold feeling with the outstanding snowcover and the icy looking waters. The multiple arch bridge leading to the gate is great, and I love the signpost. The new larger towers are more rounded, and you do something well that you have always done, which is to use multiple elevations. This is not an easy think to achieve, and your builds really look nice, plus give the viewer the feeling of being in the mountainous Mitgardia. I miss the fall trees a little from the original build, although I understand why you didn't include them. The picture of the falcon on the roof is great, and I like that you made it level with the ground instead of the roofline. Your droid arm vines look great, giving more of a frozen, dormant-for-winter look than the brown whip vines that signal more current growth to me, which lends more to the winter feel. Does this new version have an interior the way the old build did? I always enjoy seeing your builds and reading the latest part of the story!
  18. Didn't know that detailed Lute came in the Lunar New Year set, really cool! Love the designs. Obviously, we should all strive to use minidolls now, and, as this is a fantastic April 1 build and you no longer need your minifigure parts since you will be working exclusively in minidolls, I really appreciate you agreeing to donate all your minifigure parts to me!
  19. You have some really great choices for minis here. What is that phoenix dress from? I can't place it. They all flow together well, with the various torsos and legs feeling like TLG designed them for one another. I love seeing what you come up with for minis!
  20. Beautiful! I like all the detailing you have on the window stonework and the walls. Detailed, but not overly so, and some of the greebling with the dark tan roller skates near the roofline are very nice. The interiors are really superb, with some great color choices and some good spacing. The builds for the ladder and shelving are very clever. Some of the old perfume bottles/pots (scala maybe?) work really well here, and for Kali in general. I really like the whip vine on the side of the building. The flame yellow-orange plant seems to defy gravity a bit and pops quite a lot, although from the other angle it blends a bit more. The roof looks great, and I love the very distinctive Kaliphlin architecture feel. Great job!
  21. Wow, there's a lot going on here. The scale of this build is immense, and it really flows well. You have a number of interesting color choices, like the light blue dome and the yellow plaster on the main building, that work quite well. The palm trees all look good, especially in the leaves, but I bet lining up all the trunks was tedious! The shape of the large boat hull is really impressive and realistic. Very nice. The various animals throughout are fun to pick through and find. I think you did a good job making the docks look busy, but not too cluttered. Overall, great job! This would be really fun to see in person, but I'm not going to be in Sweden anytime soon!
  22. This is a fantastic build. This really captures the feel of the Ninjago city sets for me, but with the GoH theme to it. You have some really fantastic parts usage here, such as the SW head for a hornet's nest and the wand/lever combo for a pipe. Your tudor frames with partial recess are beautiful, and you have a good sense of color blocking on the architecture. Speaking of the architecture, the detailing on the columns is very nice, and you have enough greebling to break up a wall without it looking too busy. Your trees/plants look organic and natural, which I appreciate given the difficulty of doing such a thing, and in particular I think your whip trunk tree lends an element of 'elvenness' (if that is a word) to the build. I hadn't seen the green horn in the flower stem before, but it looks good! I think the candlemaker and moneycounter are my favorite merchants. As with the temple, I think sacrificing one or two rooms to give yourself a bit more space on a few others may have been beneficial, although I think that it is less noticeable here than the temple. The elven gardens at the top are really the crown jewel in my opinion, and give a very light, airy feel to the build. Now you leave me wanting to see more of your builds and HQ's story!
  23. Wow, this is a stunning build. The overall height is fantastic, and the roofline is very sharp. I like a lot of the details with the minis, like the mermaid, bell ringer, chapel, and the balcony scene. You have a good eye for color on the build, and they are rich with detail. If there is any one suggestion, I would cut out a room or two to expand a few others. There's a ton of detail and you managed to get it all in there, but it feels a little claustrophobic. Love all the architecture, and the falcon on top is great. Outstanding work! It's good to see some of your builds again!
  24. Nice work! I like the idea of 'districts' in the capital city (makes sense, right?), and you did a nice fusion of Kali here. I like your color blocking on various levels, and the 1/2 stud offset on the tan tower adds a lot of definition. Your roofwork and gables are stellar and look very realistic. The lady in lavender really stands out to me and looks rather modern with that haircut, but it might work better if I could see the torso print. Overall, a really beautiful build, and it's nice to see the lion knights back again!
  25. There's a lot of really great things going on here, even if you are not excited about some of your interiors. I think there are always things we wish we could have done better, especially on a time deadline. I love the armory. The lighting is good, and it looks very life-like. You did a good job making the interiors detailed but not cluttered, something difficult to do in my opinion. Love the uneven tile floor in the basement. The olive bush and vine are outstanding mixes of the various olive flora pieces, and look very organic. The idea of the pigeon coop on the roof is great, and you executed it well. The wave in the water in the canal is subtle, but looks really good. I personally like your color choices, though I understand artistically it might be nice to use sand blue in one building or something. As a stand-alone, two different height buildings could use negative space, although if this is part of a larger city it's perfectly fine. I really like the sand green roof, and how you draw the eye from building to building with the line of 1x2 tiles strung between. Really nice work!
