  1. 60142 Money Transporter Theme: City LXF File - LDD 4.3.10 Brick Version 2248 Errors: No Stickers Printed decoration substitutions on Minifigures and money (10 instead of 100)
  2. I asked an employee at local Lego store (US) a few weeks ago when the 42064 Ocean Explorer was to be released and he thought Jan 1 and was going to double check but the store was very busy so I told him not to worry and deal with the customers in line with crossed arms, stern faces and tapping feet. So I would also like to know when to expect these sets. The ocean explorers absence from the January 2017 USA catalog makes me think north america may not get this set.
  3. That is really cool and getting four builds out of one set of bricks is very impressive. Its difficult enough getting decent looking models out of the standard 3-build options for the Creator line, much respect. I would be very interested and any train fan posting about wanting more trains should be behind this and support it 100%.
  4. Both of my local Lego stores sold out, couldn't make it day 1 and glad I didn't as it must have been like black friday, should have called before driving to one store though. Also out of Architecture Chicago. Both backordered on Lego S&H as well. Never went for a modular on release day and probably won't ever again, either order online or wait until the chaos subsides.
  5. First tried ikea, bought 3 shelves and a table, only assembled one shelf. Hated it and everything about their physical stores and their $99 flat rate shipping is outrageous. Returned it all for full refund. $18 shelf option. 3 bookshelves/cases from Walmart for the price of 1 shelf at ikea. Essentially the same exact thing, the difference isn't like Lego vs knockoff. They are indiscernible. Less spent on display more money for bricks. Modulars all fit fully assembled, just as sturdy as any other particle board furniture, manufactured the same exact way (walmart uses all metal cams and screws ikea uses plastic) and probably all made in an identical factory right across the street from each other.
  6. Thieves steal from everywhere, whether its a multi million dollar theft by an executive from Tiffany and Co, six figure burglary from Gucci, the trashing of the worldwide economy by day traders in expensive suits or a Lego set by a petty thief at Walmart. So you really can't characterize or stereotype an entire group of shoppers by what a thief has done. Walmart sells Lego, so that makes any Eurobricks member who buys a Lego set from them: the quality kind of people who go there.
  7. While home visiting family over the holidays I was told I should clear out the Lego collection if I still wanted it (or else?). Ended up being 119lbs of Lego, lots of MOCs from childhood and a number of Modular Buildings including TH, DO, PS, PR. 9 boxes total of 14" and 16" cubed boxes shipped across the US. I've been packing and shipping expensive and fragile items for years but was amazed at how well all the buildings and assembled sets came out being shipped almost completely assembled (mini figures and various parts that were bound to fall off were removed and wrapped). Town Hall was shipped just like this, no issues! Clock tower, flower pots and lamp post were removed for shipping. A few of the others that survived almost completely assembled: Very happy to have nearly entire Lego collection in one place now.
  8. Wow this is not at all what I was expecting, in a very good way! I thought it would be along the size of the small architecture models but this is massive and fantastic. That many pieces would probably crash LDD on my computer. Keep up the stunning work I can't wait to see more!
  9. ^ Woah that would be cool with a very unique color scheme and a selection of engine options. What are the bars over the windshield of engine #1130 though?
  10. Thank you for that information and visual example jtlan. I hadn't considered the increasing overhang with length. Very helpful and looks like theres a significant amount of length that can be added before I run into problems.
  11. Good looking out thanks for sharing thats a good deal.
  12. Downright impressive. Wow. 100% realistic and the T-bone looks yummy even in brick form.
  13. Thanks for the tip! I can see that would be necessary as even as it currently sits it looks a bit squished in the profile angle. Is there any length reference maximum that the bogies can be spaced and still make it around Lego curved tracks?
  14. In building off and on since the early 90s, I can't say I've ever had a missing piece but I have had a couple of damaged pieces and a couple of misprinted/messed up decorations. The damaged pieces are usually larger plates that are bent or warped. Lego always replaces very timely and there are no bad feelings about this. Every time that I couldn't find a piece a thorough search revealed its either stuck in one of the bags or I confused the piece with another similar piece and placed it on the set where its not supposed to go.
  15. Yeah looking at the photos of the real train and this build the stripes are beautifully executed, as is pretty much everything. Master builder.
  16. Thank you! Yeah the motorized version will be a little ways off but I'll be sure to update once it is up and running properly. If I change it to the now more common 7/8 studs wide I'll try and get the PF where they should be, in the loco. Thank you very much. It took a couple of weeks of an hour or so at night building in LDD, ordered the parts and a few more weeks slowly building as the parts came in. From opening LDD to posting this was right around two months. I am a MOC train newb. Thanks JopieK! Even though its not a real locomotive you all have been very supportive.
  17. Those are fantastic! Great MOCs and excellent photography.
  18. Hello Eurobricks Train Techies. This is my first MOC train and my first time building in LDD first and then bringing it to life with real bricks. Its not based on any specific real train but heavily inspired by modern North American freight engines and Lego train building techniques. I missed out on the Maersk and BNSF trains and while 60052 Cargo Train is a very cool set I was desiring something with a bit more detail like in those sets. The frame length, bogie designs and front and rear offset cheese slope technique are borrowed from the Maersk but the rest was free built in LDD with a lot of back and fourth to see what pieces are actually obtainable in specific colors. Color scheme is inspired from growing up in Chicago and seeing mostly Metra and Amtrak. Currently no power functions but I plan to hide those in the cargo cars and or a fuel tender to come later. Might go with most seem to be doing and make it 7/8-studs-wide and 6-axles later on. Approximately ~780 pieces.
  19. That is great. I am not very fond of palace cinema either. Only modular I had second thoughts about after building. Looks much better as a non-corner like you did and even better in your dilapidated state. Car is rusting and broken down, facade burned and crumbling, boarded up and chain locked, excellent. Really like it better in this state.
  20. Jar jar riding motorcycle under the influence stopped on rail road crossing with death star train barreling down the tracks... still lives.
  21. The huge scale and amazing detail of this building would be fitting in the massive Legoland cityscapes, I know Miniland doesn't use minifig scale but most of us don't even come close to completely furnished and detailed MOC buildings of this size. Absolutely impressive and an incredibly attractive MOC throughout.
  22. Wow that is awesome! A high speed train with a brick built aerodynamic front end, makes the official Lego set look really cheap and lame. Fantastic train, amazingly good work and very cool.
  23. Me too so you are not alone. BNSF is also outrageously priced. Bricklinking the pieces for these sets in another color is also an option (similar to the link provided). Any of the digital building programs are great for taking an existing set's built file and easily changing color or modifying to see if you like the look. And thank you for posting that link cameronmiller1988! That is a really cool and affordable/adaptable option for a realistic looking PF American freight engine and the instructions and sticker options are great.
  24. I can download it but the file says zero bytes and plugging it into a parts generator says the file is empty. Would be rather easy to compile a list of additional or different parts required for this mod using the original sets LXF file in the LDD Official Sets thread for comparison but seeing as this thread is 2 years old the file seems broken. No idea. Might be one reason the LDD Official Sets thread dictates LXF files to be hosted off Eurobricks in one of the approved brick-file sharing sites.
  25. If you're undecided but clearly considering it you should probably just get it. No interest in WV train here even if I had 0 trains, would prefer to see more trains along the lines of the BNSF or Maersk but the playability is low so those are generally AFOL or teenager-only prospective sales figures.
