Exquisite build! Amazingly well done and beautiful. Bravo.

Some have made the corner modulars into non-corner buildings. Heres a great one of Palace Cinema, I think its better than the official set.

Thanks peedeejay, the new interior is much an improvement from the original. Sorry some don't like the exterior but as an moc it brings some welcomed (personal opinion) contrast between the official Lego sets which make many collections too similar (present company excluded, your mocs are great). I've got another modular in the works in LDD that is more conservative and traditional in exterior build. This one was free-built with almost no planning other than the first floor would be a gallery.

It looks great even half completed and we will all be very patient in anticipation. A little off topic but I like how the scooter girl and umbrella table from Pizza Van are there (did she grab a pastry?). Those two things inexplicably migrate around my room. Are you going to keep the flower shop and bakery connected with the shared wall?

Thank you. I can understand not being fond of the slopes on the facade. It looks different in person and not nearly as pronounced. Thanks! Yeah definitely do something with them. Won't mind at all if you do something similar, we should preserve these old pieces and find creative uses for them. Thanks, I appreciate it. Thanks again Carebear! Thanks!

^^ That is an ok method if for some reason one must have brand new bricks but the selection, availability and pricing is still better on bricklink which also has brand new bricks, not to mention the shipping is usually much faster and cheaper if you aren't always placing a big order over the Lego free shipping amount. A lot of the large bricklink sellers buy many sets for pieces they want and sell the unused bricks at very competitive prices. Only a fraction of every brick in every color ever made is available at any given time on bap, while just about every single brick in every color is on bricklink. They even have long since discontinued brand new bricks on bricklink, stuff you won't ever find again on bap.

Ditching the ugly green door and installing some floodlights Emmet does it differently

That set you linked has 502 pieces and about half are the bright colors you don't want and a limited random selection of windows with odd glass colors. Better options are Pick a Brick wall if you have a local store or even better Bricklink-ing the exact colors and bricks you want in larger quantities instead of paying $40 for a handful of random bricks. You'll be lucky to get one wall of a 16-wide modular from that set. You've been given a plethora of good suggestions. Since money is a concern you should also seriously consider building digitally first (LDD, LDraw etc), which is free and then you'll have a list of exactly what you'll need and can build endlessly. And again you can use the bright pieces you have in creative ways hidden inside/under/behind items as support bricks thereby making use of your current selection. Here's an example of using the old standard bright colored bricks for modulars. It does look, different > umr3tdzfxis7.jpg

Thanks! Thank you. I appreciate it both of you. Quick update can't believe I forgot this, the reason the jail door and ladder on top of the roof access: And removed the seaweed pieces from under the tree as it doesn't look right, definitely in Historic/Pirate and star wars jungles but not in a Town tree.

Welcome to the gallery of older Lego printed decorations, currently featuring various old printed Lego tiles and bricks. The owner, like many in Modular Town, isn't a big fan of stickers but has acquired a decent amount of printed tiles over time and decided to put them on display for the minifigures to reminisce. Exterior Front: Back: With other modulars: The three floors separated: First floor gallery: Second floor apartment, features include queen size bed, small kitchen, dresser, flatscreen TV, bathroom with storage above, window A/C unit, balcony, roof access and emergency fire escape: Roof features garden, seating and outdoor storage:

That's tough, I'm sure some have but as you've noticed the modulars use newer and more subdued Lego colors. I too have a lot of those old colors but they're not completely useless, you can use them hidden inside objects and features (like supports for a raised floor as found in the Pet Shop townhouse side, underneath beds and tables, hidden under plates and tiles for stairs). I'm sure if you got creative you could come up with something or leave them all in the sun for a while. Grey and black are still very useful.

Wow that is is beautiful. That front facade is gorgeous, amazing details throughout and the glass stairway is awesome. Fantastic MOC!

This is hilarious. A grow, stacks of cash, cooking and manufacturing, paraphernalia and weapons. Bricksburg Super Secret Police are on their way and Good Cop/Bad Cop is furious. Is that a rat in the corner eating or making excrement? The glass table is really cool and use of Technic chair as a recliner/comfy chair is a nice touch. The interchanging 1x1 and 1x2 cheese slopes adds some nice detail too. Great MOC.

Oh my. This is one of the greatest threads on any forum anywhere on the internet, ever. The never ending beauty. Master builders, every single one of them.

Excellent review. This might just be a packaging discrepancy but my section 4: has 5 numbered bags. 5 bags with the number 4 on them. (and the contents are different no duplicate bags). Everything else the same though.
-
I agree with all those, they are absolutely spectacular. What about these for consideration?

The ~4000 piece assembly square is $280. Imagine what a skyscraper set would cost. In the meantime enjoy a Eurobricks member's MOC skyscraper, scroll down for a ~14 story high-rise:

Don't worry about not having the old ones. Buying a house is much more important than having toys and there are plenty who don't have them all. Create some MOC instead, you might find like many have that it is much more rewarding than buying a design that thousands of others have.

The OP already stated in so many words that they are against the scalpers. This tactic would result in becoming one of them, or part of the problem.

Haha that is funny, I thought the dog was a bit cheesy but it is an interesting brick build. Now I'll always see it as a robot dog. Thanks for the feedback I know its not a super-detailed review but I wanted to leave the fun of the other builds to those who get the set however I can put the pictures up if its really desired. I purchased only looking at the front box image and found I actually like all 3 models for once with the caveat that I know it must be hard to come up with multiple enjoyable builds from a specific set of bricks. They did a great job.

Do this one LegoSjaak! 3 new full buildings for your beautiful square. Edit though I think the bakery and flower shop will still need to be connected without extra bricks for the shared wall.
