Unnumbered bags, Creator 3 in 1 anarchy rules so open them all. Minifigures and accessories Random selection of pieces Random instruction page Surprising number of leftover pieces for a 566 piece set (these are leftover from the main build) How everyone has seen the set Some of the criticism of this set prior to release was that the main build set was only 2-4 studs deep on one side with a typical City-building open back. It's not really shown in the most widely distributed image of this set but this should show how it handles that, I had no idea it did this before buying: The grass/bench/tree part is also removable via Technic pins and can be placed on the other side when the building is closed. The other two builds also utilize a swivel opening like this but the second model is a little different. The Townhouse and Cafe are both closed-off on all sides modular-style but swivel open, while the Greenhouse building has the more typical City-building-style open backside with the greenhouse canopy being what swivels open. Originally I thought it was a cool set and while not spectacular like a modular I thought that if I didn't like any of the builds it still had some good parts. Having built it I was pleasantly surprised by all the features and little details and for once in a Creator 3 in 1 set I feel like all 3 builds are very strong with the Townhouse and Cafe being the strongest but the train windows do make a great greenhouse for the garden-afficiando's building. I thought I'd see how long I could keep it together before I decided to use the set for parts but having actually built it now I will likely keep it assembled in the Townhouse or Cafe build. Pleasantly surprised.

Its amazing how accurate this stuff is from just the few fleeting glimpses much of it was shown. That video from Legoland is great too, really want to see that in person. And now every time I click in this thread I want to re-watch the movie. What a bunch of hippy dippy baloney. Robots! Bring the sword of exact zero. No way, this is my jam. This is also my jam. You didn't let me finish earlier, because I died. Those guys were so lame, all they did was play space checkers. Plus it turns out the hairy one's a dude, and the metal one too, all dudes.

How long for missing piece replacement?
koalayummies replied to Aaryana's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Why would it have been cancelled? Call and ask. The customer service replacement/missing/damage brick service is significantly more busy after the holidays so much so that they close down their bricks and pieces purchase service until february. -
I agree about the large fuselage pieces but thats what we get now so of all those listed I would rank them as: 1: 60046 (nice suggestion it looks like a CH-53) 2: 3658 3: 60138 4: 7741 5: 4473 and the worst of all is that Juniors one. Edit: now I really like 60046 why'd you have to do that.

What do you do with your LEGO Boxes
koalayummies replied to TheLunabrick's topic in General LEGO Discussion
There is one amendment to my post and anyone else who recycles (disposes) the boxes like myself should also do and that is to keep the box at least until the set is built or all pieces are verified. This thread reminded me that when I called Lego customer service once about a damaged plate they asked for the code printed on the sticker that seals the box. This was not to verify that it was a legitimate purchase as it came from the Lego store but rather if they have issues with a particular production run it can help them in narrowing down the cause. I'm sure they'd provide replacement pieces without the code or box identification but if it can help them prevent problems and provide a better Lego product then everyone wins. -
Gi-Dan's compound and Temple, where Gi-Dan, his Samurai and loyal Ninja have protected and kept watch over many of Japan's precious historic artifacts and jewels recovered and saved from thieves and profiteers over generations. Outside the compound the renegades and robbers Chief Kendo, Bonsai and the red Ninja frequently and arrogantly parade in front of Gi-Dan's Samurai guards, taunting them: Its not always smooth sailing however as Gi-Dan's Samurai are particularly keen, noticing one of the robber's carts that was previously empty on its way past is now loaded with a fresh chest that wasn't there before. Inside the compound Gi-Dan and his Samurai and Ninja keep watch over the precious recovered items and continuously train, shaded by a Japanese Black Pine that they have cultivated for generations. Chief Kendo and the red Ninja Master conspire on how to steal the treasures from the vantage point the Temple offers, but the Princess, sporting her unmistakable white Ninja garb and keeping to the shadows has followed them and listens in: The Emperor's Shogun have also been tracking Chief Kendo but are under strict orders not to take action unless there is imminent danger, crime in progress or a known plot: The Princess along with her personal guard, upon hearing their plan and realizing the lapse in Chief Kendo's personal protection as his men flaunt in front of Gi-Dan, take advantage of the opportunity and make their move... The set is built on all four sides, assembled using mostly bricks and styles from the original sets which I was fortunate to acquire the majority of when they were originally released. This moc was actually built when I was 13-14ish when the sets were released so it could use a little refinement and is missing a few pieces here and there that got lost in relocation over time. Thanks for looking.

Help me LDD Master Builders! Are these pieces in LDD? I'm decently proficient at finding the design and element number to then search further with but with these three I'm stumped. If anyone can provide the design, element number or whether or not they're in LDD it is greatly appreciated. Landing gear with small white wheel, I believe its from a 1990s space shuttle set, none of the wheels and tires in LDD match: EDIT: Found on bricklink with a weird part number under space shuttle wheels, haven't found in LDD These lattice pieces (in grey with arrows). Its 1x16 plate-thick with no studs. I do not recall what sets these may be from (old train crossing gate?): EDIT: finally found it as 4168 Support Lattice 1x16 haven't checked LDD yet. And finally these airplane nose area parts. I found newer part substitutions that work but are these older parts without the stud-notches in the side not in LDD?

What do you do with your LEGO Boxes
koalayummies replied to TheLunabrick's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Dispose of the majority. Only a few get saved for the storage of bricks, specific parts of sets for which there is no display room or other storage items like stacks of instructions. -
Santa doesn't need a haircut! Great mod/moc, the back looks great with the 1x1 round tiling, staircase and additional flower planters. The bedroom tiling is pretty too. Nice work.

Minifigs/Sets where the older versions look better?
koalayummies replied to TheLunabrick's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Yeah that is a great example. I think 6339 Shuttle Launch Pad is also better than 60080 Spaceport for the same reason, more brick built parts despite fewer number of pieces and still a better looking set. To keep it diverse and not Star Wars exclusive another example would be the older train sets. A lot seem to prefer the 9V metal tracks, ability to buy more tracks and individual train cars and those trains have really stood the test of time. A lot of City is the opposite though especially vehicles. All the old 4-stud wide City vehicles look ridiculous next to their modern 6-wide counterparts. I have no desire to re-build any 4-wide vehicle. Minifigs, I used to prefer the old simple smile faces (like still found in the Modulars) but have grown to prefer the more detailed modern faces with a variety of expressions, details and gender distinction (don't care for the non-yellow heads in the licensed sets though). The modern female heads are infinitely better than the early female heads. Like this terrible head. -
Thanks BrickJagger! That makes it more clear and I'll be sure to keep the faction alliances defined along those lines. I don't think I understood what was going on when I had these as a kid, some Ninja were flying, others were carrying around treasure chests but everyone was fighting and that was enough story for a child

Holy moly that is huge. Some great MOCs in there and I like that there's both a city side and a more rural side. Fantastic town!

(LDD) Octanship Octanship Octanship!
koalayummies replied to Moebius118's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Awesome recreation build and thanks for getting the LXF up again! :downloaded: I too wanted to build this from the movie as it plays a pivotal role as one of Emmet's 'bad ideas' of following the instructions yet aides in the infiltration of Octan tower. Great work.- 23 replies

Grabbed all my old classic Ninja pieces from my family's house over the holidays and put the minifigures together on this little display while I rebuild the MOC for them which was based around the original Ninja theme. My questions are pertaining to the characters and who's supposed to be good and bad. From the Lego Wikia entry I gathered that the blue colored characters Gi-Dan, Dojo and Kata and grey ninja Ito are protecting some artifacts and jewels from the robbers and thieves Chief Kendo, the green-vested robbers and black ninja Bonsai? But what about the red ninja, white shogun and white ninja princess? Who's good and who's bad? I want to try to make it accurate this time as my MOC had them all intermingling.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
koalayummies replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
You're not alone. I was saving up for it when it went out of stock over the holidays and figured I'd get it in January then to the surprise of many it was suddenly retired. Ended up getting one off the scalpers for an outrageous price paid for by selling other stuff. Love the building but I still have mixed feelings about it due to that. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
koalayummies replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Unless you like and want Pet Shop as its on the chopping block (retiring soon). If they don't go out of order of succession like they did with TH, then PC is next followed by PR. -
Yeah I've never heard any Chicagoan refer to it as big red, ever, not even once, its the CNA building (or CNA "Center") . Also appreciate still calling it the Sears Tower as it will always be to many a Chicagoan. I recall a cab ride when I said it and the cabbie sarcastically corrected me "don't you mean Willis Tower?" No, followed by laughter.

Technic 2017 Set Discussion
koalayummies replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thanks Offroadcrat1ons. The no-show in the catalog had me disappointed, very excited for that set. -
Absolutely amazing. Your modular buildings are top notch, easily some of the very best ever built and better than many of the official sets. I think I could keep looking at this for hours and continue to see fascinating new details and extensive use of unconventional building techniques. Very inspiring.
