Forgotten in Garage - Unopened Castle Sets
zoth33 replied to natesroom's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Have fun building those. I have all the LOTR/Hobbit sets you have there, they are really nice. Goblin King battle is a fun build, and there are some great figs in those sets. I never got the joust set I'm kicking myself for that one. My oldest son got castle dragon set which is now my youngest sons. That's definitely a lot of good building there. -
The flower fruit mountain does sound. I hope it has a temple too. The lion guardian could be interesting. I hope there are more than just the 2 demon's and the spider queen as villains.

Lego 90 year set voting split and throughts
zoth33 replied to durazno33's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
If Bionicle wins will we get just one figure or more is a question I would like to know. If it's just one figure then I think this will be a waste. But I totally agree that themes like castle and space have been spread way to thin with several sub-themes they put on the voting list. I wouldn't mind if Bionicle won but it better be a damn good figure worth buying otherwise they could have wasted an opportunity to do so many good things with all the other great themes that are up for voting. -
The white and black look nice. The windows are nicely designed. The coblestone road looks good with the building. I like the added color of the vine growing up the building.

They did stranger things, harry potter, several DC characters that have done some pretty bad things along with marvel characters. I don't think Elder Scrolls would get ruled out but they could do something like it also.

This is very nice. The landscaping has a nice cohesive feel throughout the build. I like your color choices for the buildings and the different color roofs make each building stand out. I also like that you have different size trees. The whole build has some nice interactions with figs going on. Well done.

LEGO Ninjago 2021
zoth33 replied to Driver Brandon Grumman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
OK but UK prices are always different. Plus that's 50 bucks without the tax and I don't know if the UK price is with or without their taxes. At any rate it's still a pretty nice set with new molds in it. -
Yeah I also had elder scrolls, Dungeons and dragons on my list. I wouldn't mind magic the gathering either. I really think they will do zelda at some point either through ideas or an actual line. Sea of thieves would be interesting too I don't think they would do spawn but they did do deadpool so there is hope.

LEGO Ninjago 2021

@a guy from somewhere I think the set is a great value at $50 for over 600 pieces. The totem pole is a really great feature and the build looking like a creature is actually pretty neat. The figs are excellent. So for me the value is definitely there. Chief Mammatus just looks fantastic. The new amulet piece looks great too. -
Yeah they will probably keep that mold for general snakes and make molds as needed for snakes that need different shapes. The tan alligator is really nice by the way.

That's not what I said. I didn't say they would do any of those things I mentioned. I was simply pointing out that there is a lot of interest in high fantasy in media like tv shows, games, movies and even books. I was using them as examples of the popularity of fantasy in general. I was pointing out that with the popularity of these franchises that lego could easily make something fantasy/castle related and it would probably sell well. I didn't say there is a rumor this a thread on what you would like to see in future castle sets. I'm just saying I wouldn't mind something along any of those lines.

We already have a alligator in two colors. They have a cobra mold from cmf and nagini from Harry Potter which is like a python Yes a new bat mold please. Personally I would love a wild boar mold, male lion, more molds like a moose, gazelle, or antelope. I would like to see more varied bird molds like a vulture, blue jay, geese, ducks, hawks, turkey, or pelicans.

Of course they have the capacity. The last line was 2013. And shortly there after LOTR/Hobbit ended. I'm just taking a guess and they are thinking a castle theme wouldn't sell well. But with all the fantasy related things coming out like The Witcher, the new GOT series, the amazon LOTR series, The Wheel of time series you would think they would come out with something. Also with the popularity of things like magic the gathering, WOW, ESO, black desert, etc. hopefully lego comes out with something because there is a market for this. But for some reason they have not come out with anything castle/fantasy. I also hope that if they do come out with something that we as fans show that we want more of it.

I'm not a millionaire either. There are some options to buy animals without getting sets, ie bricklink or bricks and pieces have a lot to offer and for good prices. I would love to have a lot more pieces than I have to build the builds I want to do but it's going to take time for me to get all the things I want. I'm planning out some large castle/fantasy builds, but I don't have enough slopes, plates, bricks in general to do what I want. Yes animals are nice, I do have a camel and I buy sets that have them when I can and bricklink or b&p others. Currently I don't have any cows that is next on my list and I also want that great white shark but I usually try to order as much as I can on one brinklink order so I'll see what I can find. So right now I just get what I can when I have the money. But I will be definitely be getting this set it is very nice.

I know what people are saying it just amazes me that certain things like that are so much of an issue. Believe me I would love some goats. I only have the 2 from the village raid set. Here's hoping there are some future castle sets with more animals for the people that really want them. I just hope the black falcon torso's end up on B&P and I can buy a bunch so I can increase my army. I also hope this set opens up for more castle sets in the future.

I understand that people can see different things and want different things out of a set. But for the life of me I don't understand why people want more animals in a blacksmith shop. I could see if it were a farm, homestead, or something of that nature but not a blacksmith shop. I can see criticism for getting more armor, weapons, etc. And for getting more figs. If I'm buying a blacksmith shop it's not for the animals it's for the build itself and maybe the figs which in this set I happen to really like the build and the figs.

Yeah I don't know where people thought it was a whole wave from. But the fact that there are several different castle themes on there doesn't look good for getting castle as it will probably cannibalize each other for votes. If there were less castle themes on there I think we would have a better shot of getting a castle set out of this.

[MOC] Fractured kingdoms, Bandit attack
zoth33 replied to Servertijd's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Nice build. I like the color choices and the texturing of the buildings. The dock area looks great with the little spots that look worn from the water. The facial expressions on all the figs are perfect for the scene, really well put together. -
My only fear with that is they have spread out so many of the castle themes instead of just a few. But I do hope that they do bring back a castle theme.

What would you like for the next Castle line?
zoth33 replied to Robert8's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
If they brought it back the torso's wouldn't look plain. They would do a more modernized version of it. Just look at the wolfpack design on the rogue in the cmf. They would definitely spruce up the design of the figs. Plus they have more shades of green and brown than they did back then. -
I hope we actually do get sets at some point. The creature does look interesting. It could be a great theme if they do it right. I guess only time will tell if we actually see sets.
-
It's going to take time look how long it was to get a new sting ray. There seems to be a wildlife group of sets in city coming this year, maybe we will get some new animals in those sets. They might still have that partnership with national geographic so there might be something there too.

I have a bunch including the big forestmen hideout set. It was a great set. I remember playing with that all the time and attacking it with my knights. The figs still hold up quite well too. I have had only cracks in arms none on my torso's. The 80's and 90's had some great sets and factions. Although I think kingdoms was my favorite release because of the MMV and the raid sets along with the joust, the whole aesthetic of the theme was great. I thought lego did a really nice job with that theme. But yeah the forestmen, wolfpack, black knights, and dragon knights were some of my favorites from back in the day.
