I understand that people can see different things and want different things out of a set. But for the life of me I don't understand why people want more animals in a blacksmith shop. I could see if it were a farm, homestead, or something of that nature but not a blacksmith shop. I can see criticism for getting more armor, weapons, etc. And for getting more figs. If I'm buying a blacksmith shop it's not for the animals it's for the build itself and maybe the figs which in this set I happen to really like the build and the figs.
-
Yeah I don't know where people thought it was a whole wave from. But the fact that there are several different castle themes on there doesn't look good for getting castle as it will probably cannibalize each other for votes. If there were less castle themes on there I think we would have a better shot of getting a castle set out of this.

[MOC] Fractured kingdoms, Bandit attack
zoth33 replied to Servertijd's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Nice build. I like the color choices and the texturing of the buildings. The dock area looks great with the little spots that look worn from the water. The facial expressions on all the figs are perfect for the scene, really well put together. -
My only fear with that is they have spread out so many of the castle themes instead of just a few. But I do hope that they do bring back a castle theme.

What would you like for the next Castle line?
zoth33 replied to Robert8's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
If they brought it back the torso's wouldn't look plain. They would do a more modernized version of it. Just look at the wolfpack design on the rogue in the cmf. They would definitely spruce up the design of the figs. Plus they have more shades of green and brown than they did back then. -
I hope we actually do get sets at some point. The creature does look interesting. It could be a great theme if they do it right. I guess only time will tell if we actually see sets.
-
It's going to take time look how long it was to get a new sting ray. There seems to be a wildlife group of sets in city coming this year, maybe we will get some new animals in those sets. They might still have that partnership with national geographic so there might be something there too.

I have a bunch including the big forestmen hideout set. It was a great set. I remember playing with that all the time and attacking it with my knights. The figs still hold up quite well too. I have had only cracks in arms none on my torso's. The 80's and 90's had some great sets and factions. Although I think kingdoms was my favorite release because of the MMV and the raid sets along with the joust, the whole aesthetic of the theme was great. I thought lego did a really nice job with that theme. But yeah the forestmen, wolfpack, black knights, and dragon knights were some of my favorites from back in the day. -
I agree and as far as the female knight, this is not a historical set based on a specific person in time and history. It's a classic lego castle based set, but classic lego castle has had fantasy elements in them, ie dragons, wizards, skeletons, trolls, etc. So you could see it as a more fantasy based set which in a lot of fantasy there are female knights. And this being a gripe with people then why not just switch it out with a male head if you don't like it that is what makes lego great you can change the things you don't like. I've been doing that since I was a kid. And here we are still on the goat thing it's actually mind boggling the amount of people that can't fathom not getting a goat. The interior is great though, really liking the whole set more and more now. Molds break it happens and sometimes they just don't make a new one. What is there not to buy. Molds break like the old sword mold so they made a different sword. I'm sure they will make another goat give it time. It's not high on their priority list right now most likely. They haven't made a sheep either but I'm not going make a big deal about it because it's really not that important right now.

Your taking this way too personal. What you do in your life is your own deal. All I will say is this is not a cheap hobby and has never been. I am not throwing shade on anyone that can't afford Lego. There are ways to make more money though.

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces

Ok I thought is was just me or my computer. That's good info to have thanks. -
Then buy a set you can actually afford. Lego is not a cheap hobby to get into. Not only does buying sets get expensive but also storage and space for all the Lego you have. And if you want a more expensive set save money where you can or pick up extra cash by doing extra work. The set has 2 large molds for the dinosaurs which drives the price up as Guyon said and the set seems reasonable to me. Dinosaurs are nice to have I don't have many because I usually buy other themes, but I do like the raptors and my son has a t-rex that is very nice. It will be interesting to see if there will be new dino's and what they will be in the sets.
-
It would be nice but I won't hold my breathe. I am really interested to see the builds and hopefully some nice figs. I hope there are some animals in the set but most if not all will be brick built. Like I said they might surprise us with a nice molded animal. I do like the tan horse in the blacksmith shop set.

Great looking build. I like the texturing and the way you designed the windows. I like the old school feel with the figs and the color choices. The interior is nice and clean.

LEGO Ninjago 2021
zoth33 replied to Driver Brandon Grumman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
No I find it unbelievable in this day and age that adults are triggered and whining over a kids toy. People can cry and complain all they want I'm not saying you don't have a right to. Freedom of speech have at it. I just think some people look petty with all the complaining. Of course there are things I don't like about certain sets. I just find it better to look at the positive in things and try to stay positive in these crazy and trying times. Personally I would love to take all my frustrations out in a mosh pit but no concerts for now. I think all the negative talk just breeds more and it gets taxing. I like reading what people think just not the same things over and over and over. Yeah I would love more animals but that's not what we are getting and nothing is going to change that. The set is already in production. I just find it interesting that some of us as adults get so heated over a little plastic toy. In the grand scheme of life it's not that important, I mean there are so many other things that need changing first in this world before we need to try and get Lego to cater to us Afol's more. -
LEGO Ninjago 2021

I've been saying this in general about this site. And the fact that Lego is a toy aimed at children for the most part. There seems to be a certain amout of entitlement that some people have when they don't get what they want. It's really a shame. The way some people act like sets suck and Lego should have done this or add that or put certain minifigs in a set. It's unbelievable. I mean the backlash on the blacksmith shop is unbelievable to me for the simple fact that people have been saying that if lego makes a castle set they will buy it to support the possible return of lego castle and now they see the set it doesn't have enough animals I mean come on. Then these will be the same people that will cry when there is no lego castle stuff to buy for the next several years. Yeah the sets not as detailed as in the blacksmith shop. Yeah the City gardens isn't what everyone thought it was going to be but I think it's a pretty neat set and has some great features. I agree if you don't like it don't buy it or buy it and mod it. -
It's a creator set so it will probably be a brick built horse, but they may surprise us and throw in a large molded animal. It will be interesting to see what the other 2 builds will be alternate to the castle.
-
I hope this comes out soon. I'm just itching for something official lego castle to buy. I really do hope that lego does more castle ideas sets.
-
Awesome build here. I like the dragons design, the head and wings are great. The different layers in the build give it some nice depth. The landscaping and rock work flow together nicely. The tree design is wonderful. The color choices here work very well, the dragon colors and the build itself. Really good work here.

Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
zoth33 replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I would love a Morbius set. I am reading the new Morbius comic now although with covid I'm behind and will have to find editions 5 and up. I really would love a Moon Knight fig too. As Morbius and Moon Knight are 2 of my favorite comics I'm reading currently. I just hope all this covid crap is calmed down by the time Terrificon is going on in August so I can take my kids it was such a great time a couple of years ago. -
It will not be micro scale that's not what creator is. It might be a modern version of a castle but we will find out soon enough. Either way it should have some decent parts and hopefully decent figs.
-
That's interesting hopefully it will have some decent figs. If they are black falcon again its going to be a good year for black falcon fans. Interested in seeing what the castle will look like too. That is a bummer. Hoping for something in the fall or winter then.
