Technic Pub
grum64 replied to jantjeuh's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
To be completely honest I have absolutely no idea. All I know for sure is my life would be nothing were it not filled with the love of the extraordinary and, in some (most) cases, totally bonkers people I call Family. -

Is there such a thing as a normal Family? Most of mine’s squirrel fodder to say the very least -
Technic General Discussion

Just seen this thing on DriveTribe. It’s just been sold for $17000000! I can’t help wondering if anyone’s going to build it. -
I can’t help but wonder where this leaves those selling custom printed, chrome etc. elements. Unless TLG...

Take a look at the new Maybach GLS 600. A contender for monstrosity if ever I saw one. -
[REVIEW] 42110 - Land Rover Defender
grum64 replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Another great review Jim. Thank you. With TLG deeming words as less important than the moving image I understand your considering a change to your usual excellent review format. No matter what you decide, the saving grace will always be your usual high quality pictures which show plenty of detail and so we can clearly see what’s what. You don’t get that with a 32x speed build. TLG. Take note. I thought that was my job -
Love it! Love it! Love it! It's such a fun build and for the first time, something I actually feel 'qualified' to comment on The pushing movement of the arms genius and something I've not seen before on the few Technic 'chairs I've seen and the hands placed at the hand rims is a very nice touch. I like the addition of the 'wheelie bar' but with His Darkness wearing a helmet all the time I don't think he'll fully appreciate your attention to detail . If I have one very tiny, itsy bitsy little criticism it would be the push handles could do with being a couple of studs shorter. Trust me, I know about these things .

This is absolutely incredible and as hard as I try I can’t imagine how difficult it must be for you. You are so inspiring and a testament to the power of the human spirit to overcome adversity. I’m sure members here would be really interested in seeing some pictures of your builds or perhaps a video of you building if that’s possible. Your achievements deserve wider attention. Although I can’t help you with writing instructions I wish you all the very best in your endeavours.

Bentley 4.5l ‘Blower’ model
grum64 replied to BC Lego's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Had it not been for the wheels & tyres (I know there are no suitable alternatives at this scale) I really wouldn't have known at first glance that this wasn't a photo of the real thing. Your attention to detail is commendable. Great work.- 6 replies

Having watched the video numerous times I can’t get my head around the sheer complexity of what you’ve created. I’m therefore left to conclude that it’s either the work of a genius or witchcraft

Being involved in the Huayra Project from start to finish has given me a whole new insight into the MOC building process. I always thought a great MOC took a lot of time and effort but after seeing the amount of hours and the effort Jeroen spent on the Huayra I now realise I realIy didn't have a clue what was involved. Looking at your Regera, the time you’ve spent on it, the years you’ve spent on it, really show. It’s simply magnificent.

My advice. Don't do it. Bide your time and go for a BuWizz when you have the money. The BuWizz is a high qualty device that'll give years of service. In the highly unlikely case it did develop a problem at least you know it'll be repaired/refurbished quickly and by a company that prides itself on its excellent customer service.

What a great build. It’s instantly recognisable and full of detail. I’m liking the stickers, they give it real character. Looking forward to seeing the video. -
Igor’s back! I wondered where you’ve been. Hope the hand has healed OK. Good to see you working on this again, it looks to be coming along nicely. I look forward to seeing more progress soon.

Technic 2020 Set Discussion
grum64 replied to dimaks13's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I don’t know about the Regal but I’d be stoked if it were to be the car it donated bits of its running gear to, the Bond Bug. I had a 750ES for a year or so and it was a terrific little thing. A LEGO Technic Bond Bug? Now that really would be something different -

I love old Winnie’s so am enjoying watching this build progress. Growing up I promised myself I’d tour the World in one one day but life (and a very large tree ) got in the way.
