  1. Being involved in the Huayra Project from start to finish has given me a whole new insight into the MOC building process. I always thought a great MOC took a lot of time and effort but after seeing the amount of hours and the effort Jeroen spent on the Huayra I now realise I realIy didn't have a clue what was involved. Looking at your Regera, the time you’ve spent on it, the years you’ve spent on it, really show. It’s simply magnificent.
  2. My advice. Don't do it. Bide your time and go for a BuWizz when you have the money. The BuWizz is a high qualty device that'll give years of service. In the highly unlikely case it did develop a problem at least you know it'll be repaired/refurbished quickly and by a company that prides itself on its excellent customer service.
  3. My thoughts are with Ingmar’s Family and Friends. May he rest in peace.
  4. Jim, please can you see to it that whoever did this is banned from going near LEGO for life or, if you can swing it, for longer.
  5. Oh dear. Looks like my trusty Note 3 & S3 won’t make the grade so I guess my iPad 5 is going to have to do... until of course that too is deemed incompatible
  6. What a great build. It’s instantly recognisable and full of detail. I’m liking the stickers, they give it real character. Looking forward to seeing the video.
  7. Igor’s back! I wondered where you’ve been. Hope the hand has healed OK. Good to see you working on this again, it looks to be coming along nicely. I look forward to seeing more progress soon.
  8. I don’t know about the Regal but I’d be stoked if it were to be the car it donated bits of its running gear to, the Bond Bug. I had a 750ES for a year or so and it was a terrific little thing. A LEGO Technic Bond Bug? Now that really would be something different
  9. I love old Winnie’s so am enjoying watching this build progress. Growing up I promised myself I’d tour the World in one one day but life (and a very large tree ) got in the way.
  10. Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Your attention to detail is terrific. Oh how I wish my 42030 looked this good. Great work!
  12. Anyone else had trouble contacting the Sbrick support team lately? I've sent 4 emails over the last 3 weeks but have had no reply.
  13. Sorry for bumping an old topic but I’d like to know is anyone knows of a good quality 3rd party charger for the 8878? The official one at a penny under £25 +£3.99 p&p is ridiculously expensive.
  14. Thanks to Racing Brick I now have the icons I need. Thank you allanp for your kind offer.
  15. I wonder if someone might be able to help me please. I’ve been trying to create 3 images to use as icons to import into my Sbrick profile for the Ultimate 42082 but with no idea what I’m doing the results have been predictably bad. Having setup sequences (with the help and seemingly limitless patience of Racing Brick) to select each steering mode by the tap of one of three buttons rather than using a slider I’d like to have icons to indicate which button selects which steering mode, Front Wheel, Crab and All Wheel. I found these two pictures online which (without the car outline) give a good idea of what I’m looking for. I’d like the icons to be yellow (I would’ve liked red but when outside yellow shows up better on my mobile's screen) and have a transparent background. I hope this makes sense. I’d be very grateful for any assistance and am more than happy to pay for your time. Please send me a PM if you’re interested. Thank you. PS I posted this request a few days ago in the Digital Design forum but have just realised that it meant LDD etc
  16. Good Evening I wonder if one of my fellow Eurobricks members with digital design experience can help me please. I’ve been trying to create a couple of icons to import into an Sbrick profile but the results have been far from satisfactory. The icons I need are to indicate steering mode. I’m looking for something like these. I don’t need the blue vehicle outline just that shown in yellow and with a transparent background. I’d be grateful for any assistance. Please send me a PM if you can help. Thank you.
  17. What with this, the 42099 and 42100 my poor ol' bank account's going to be considerably reduced by the end of the year
  18. Thank you. I really enjoyed building it. It’s a great model and so much more playable than the set on which it’s based. I’m looking forward to the Liebherr. It looks like a mighty impressive build.
  19. Thank you my Friend. I don't know about the construction yard but my shelves are heading that way. Another build or two and I'll have to start thinking about getting a few sets dismantled and put back in their boxes
  20. Building Time 17hrs 15min - Total Build Time 68hrs 40mins In previous posts you may of noticed that I hadn’t fitted the boom at the stage at which I should have. This was because it’d have been in the way when it came to fitting the panels around the superstructure. At the time this seemed like a good idea and in practice it was as I got all the panels on with no hinderance from a particularly lengthy obstruction and little trouble. It was a this point I realised that with said panels fitted the hole that the axle holding the boom in place and from which it pivots was to be inserted was covered. Luckily the offending panel could be pivoted up and out of the way by removing a 3L axle with Stud. Cue huge sigh of relief Fitting the boom turned out to be fun. I tried numerous ways to do it most ending in farcical failure including balancing it on my shoulder only for gravity to do its thing and despite my juggling like fumblings, it ended up on the floor. It's a testament to the strength of its design that nothing broke off or came apart. Anyway, in the end a couple of wheels and a good measure of trial and error proved enough to get the job done. So, after almost 69hrs this build is now complete. Despite being hampered by mistakes of my own making, this build’s been really enjoyable. Jurgens builds always are. Fitting all the motors required for this version makes for a very dense build, especially in the chassis. Add a pair of battery boxes (one a 88000), a PF Switch (8869) and a couple of Sbricks (in place of the 4x IR Recievers) and there’s hardly any free space at all. What free space there is a small area in the superstructure in which I want to resite the Sbrick down and back a few studs as I'm not happy with it's position. This was a great set to start with but the addition of the motors has to me, made it so much better. The functions work flawlessly and, unlike the set on which it’s based, can all operate simultaneously. The motorised functions are: Driving (XL Motor) Steering: All-Wheel / Crab (2x Servos + M Motor operating PF Switch for mode select) Raise / Lower Outriggers (M Motor) 360° Super Structure Rotation (M Motor) Raise / Lower Boom (L Motor) Extend / Retract Jib (M Motor) Raise / Lower the Hook (M Motor) Jake, George and Penny have been playing with the model all afternoon. They’ve had a whale of a time with it lifting everything from a bundle of kindling to a rather surprised looking garden gnome. When asked if they had fun they all gave it a double thumbs up and to me, that says it all. Apologies for the lack of finished build pictures. After we’d finished playing and just minutes before I was going to go in the shed to take the pictures our neighbour took out a power line while trying to excavate a tree stump with a borrowed JCB leading to several hours without power. Note: To the best of my knowledge the outage in South America was coincidental although looking at the size of the pile of dirt towering over our 6ft fence I can’t be entirely sure of this. I’m busy for the next week so will take more pictures and maybe even try to do a video sometime next week. The only way I found to fit the boom. Once secured in place a third tyre added to the pile raised the boom enough to enable the actuators to be connected. As you can see from the photo below, I need to get a bigger sheet of white foam board before I take more pics as the build is far too big to photograph against the one I’ve got.
  21. Very much looking forward to seeing where this goes
  22. Oh my. That’s magnificent. You certainly know how to make a return.
