  2. I love this, especially those chairs. Genius. It's really creative build and full of fun. Great work
  3. Excellent C model. With builds this good showing what else the parts of a set can become LEGO could add extra value to their (increasingly expensive) sets by designing a C model and making the instructions available as downloads.
  4. Oops... Deleted due to problems with pictures. (Ab)Normal service will be resumed shortly
  5. I'm sure a clever man like you will soon have that sorted out. I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
  6. Thank you. We’re really grateful for your kind comments and support.
  7. The auction of the Huayra ended a couple of days ago and we've just had confirmation that the bid was a genuine one so are pleased, so very pleased to say that it sold for an amazing £1037. It's an incredible amount and thanks to Catawiki waiving their usual 9% fee every penny will be donated to Fairy Bricks. I’m not ashamed to say that as I watched the final 30 minutes or so of the auction I had tears in my eyes. Jeroen and I would like to thank those of you who made bids and in doing so helped increase the sale price. Thank you also to all who helped promote this project on their websites, Youtube, social media etc,. Finally, I must say a huge thank you to my partner in this project, Jeroen Ottens without whose extraordinarily kind offer to build a model for me this donation for Fairy Bricks wouldn’t have been possible. A kindness I’ll never be able to repay and a journey I'll certainly never forget.
  8. I too would like to amend my comment though not for what I said because I stand by that but how I said it. I was annoyed at what I saw as an attack on the very good people of Eurobricks and replied in anger. I shouldn't have done that, it was childish and I apologise. I do agree with what Vindicare says especially when he says don't leave as Eurobricks really is a great place with really great people. Keep posting your work and maybe just lighten up about the comment count.
  9. I don’t care about your views on virtual builds because one thing more than anything else has got me well and truly steamed. You say that Eurobricks is a highbrow, unwelcoming and snobbish joint. I’m sorry but you Sir, are talking complete & utter garbage. Actually bugger it, I’m not sorry. Eurobricks is far and away the most welcoming, kindest, friendly and unpretentious place on the web. Just because you don’t get as many comments as you seem to think you deserve you’re throwing a hissy fit and casting aspersions on a great bunch of people. Many very talented designer/builders post amazing builds, large, small on these pages and often they don’t get many comments. Do they moan? Do they throw their toys out of the pram and leave? No they don’t and that’s because a) They don’t post their work simply to have people tell them how good they are or get their ego massaged b) They see that people are viewing their work and in many cases gaining inspiration from it c) They’re adults.
  10. Just a gentle reminder that the auction for the Huayra is in its last few hours so if you want to bid but haven’t done so yet you’ve not got long left. Remember, 100% of the money raised from this sale will go to the wonderful Fairy Bricks charity. View Auction
  11. That’s very kind. Thank you. That’s a very good question and to be honest I don’t know what the answer is. I’ve emailed Fairy Bricks and will let you know when I hear back from them.
  12. I’m pleased to say that the auction for this amazing model is now live Pagani Huayra Charity Auction Please help us to raise as much money as possible for Fairy Bricks by bidding if you can. It really is a wonderful charity. If you can’t bid please consider making a donation to Fairy Bricks. It doesn’t have to be much, every Pound, Euro, Dollar etc counts, so please donate what you can afford Donate Here Thank you.
  13. No need to apologise my Friend. I know your models are expensive, they have to be because of the time and effort that goes into them. Also, with them being produced in very limited numbers I know only a very lucky few will ever own one. I look forward to your next project.
  14. Thank you Jeroen. It's been a really enjoyable build so far. I think I'll correct the middle part of the Universal Joint anyway if I can. Jurgen put a lot into designing this so the very least I can do is build it right.
  15. Like you, I'm amazed how much is being fitted into the available space. It's an interesting build and one I'm learning a lot from. Learning while having fun, just how education should be. Thanks for the info on lining up the slots on the universal joints. It’s something I'm well aware of but, along with many other things, often forget to do. One too many knocks to the head over the years I'm afraid.
  16. Building Time 5hrs 20min - Total Build Time 5hrs 20mins This post is very photo heavy. Sorry. After having had a fun filled week with the Little Darlings they've now gone back home so it’s time for another build to begin. This time it’s the 42082 Rough Terrain Crane only it’s not, not really. This is Jurgen’s Ultimate 42082. Out of the box the RTC’s a great set but Jurgen’s version being full RC is so much more playable. Full RC means fitting 6 motors, 2 servos and an extra battery box into the model which seems unlikely but Jurgens done it. The first job was to get the parts emptied into a sorting tray which was a good idea in theory but 4057 parts in one, albeit big 120cmx55cmx5cm, tray turned out to be not the best idea I’ve ever had. Being full to almost overflowing sorting parts out was nigh on impossible without a tidal wave of parts cascading over the edges. After getting the huge pile of parts divided into two trays it was time to start building. So far the build has gone well with just the marriage of the two large sub assemblies being the fly backstroking it’s way through the ointment. With the universal joints being more wiggly than even the wiggliest of wiggly worms, stopping it moving about while trying guide it and the other axles towards and into their respective destinations proved to be time consuming and very frustrating. Aargh.......
  17. I wish I could afford one of these, I’d love to have a go at building it. It’s terrific. Really great work Edwin.
  18. Congratulations on getting married. I wish for you and your Wife to be as happy as me & Mrs Grum because if you are then you’re going to have a really great life together and one heck of an adventure. Hope the career change works out and is all you want it to be.
  19. Thank you my Friend. The Mods really do enhance it’s playability and appearance. You should build it, it’s great.
  20. Great to see you back doing what you do best Paul. I know what a perfectionist you are and how much time (usually well into the wee small hours) you put into your builds. I really look forward to see where this goes.
  21. Build Day 6 - Building Time 3hrs 20min - Total Build Time 22hrs 55mins It’s taken just under 23hrs but I’m pleased to say the 42030 is now finished. Yes, 23hrs is a big ol’ chunk of time but I’m pretty sure it’s the quickest I’ve built a set with about this number of pieces so I’m chuffed. I’m also chuffed because I’ve gotten it done in time for the Little Darlings arrival later today. With the 3 of them staying with us for the week the loader along with the U42009 and 8275 are going to get a lot of use. Just as well then that I’ve topped up my supply of Duracell’s with a goodly amount of eneloops and a couple of chargers so power won’t be a problem. The 42030 is a terrific looking build. I know it has that glaring gap at the point of articulation and a few others elsewhere and that the front section, including the loading arms, could do with beefing up a bit to give more of the look strength like the real thing but you know something, I really don't care. I love this great brute of a thing. In fact I think it’s one of the best looking Technic sets ever. Improving an already great looking model are the wheel covers. Thank you to Marek Markiewicz for his idea. If I were to be asked to describe this build in one word It'd have to be 'enormous!' A few years ago I built the 8265 and knew the 42030 would be larger but I wasn't prepared for just how much larger. I no longer have the 8265 so can't sit the two models side by side for comparison but I reckon, and it's only a guesstimate, the Volvo is a good 35% bigger. It really is huge. I'll resist the urge to ramble on further about this build as much has already been written about it all of which make much more sense than anything I would write. I’d like to thank efferman for his excellent steering mod. The jerky, unrealistic steering has now been replaced by a much smoother action more like that of the real thing. I feel I must take this opportunity to thank Zerobricks once again for spotting my silly mistake in the very early stages of this build. If it wasn’t for his keen eye I’d now be faced with very disappointed 7yr old and have to get a good part of this build disassembled to correct my blunder. I didn’t have time to install the batteries and so take pictures of the loader in various poses while doing it’s thing. Anyway, Penny (complete with her pink Paw Patrol hard hat and Bob the Builder tool belt) will be playing Foreman/woman/person and will be in charge of operations so she’ll want to pop them in and then maybe I’ll take some more pics and add them later. Those of you who can’t wait until later can satisfy the uncontrollable urge to see this magnificent build by heading on over to the excellent 42030 review by our esteemed leader, Sir Jim of Canon, where you’ll be able to ogle at it in all it’s beautifully lit and in focus glory. Thank you all for your kind comments and for your support. I really am very grateful.
