Freezer bags have a better seal and might have slightly denser plastic. To keep freshness and prevent freezer burn that's my guess.

I am looking forward to seeing your progress on this build. That hood just on its own looks great.

Looks great got a much more completed real life look then stock set. I like the roof spoiler gives it more of a euro look and the bed mods are nice. -
[MOD][AMS1] 8258-B Crawler
ScaleCarModels replied to JTS's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Great work really like the way this came out. This is the way Lego should have released this set. Your mods have given this set true off road crawler capabilities.- 3 replies

That trailer is awesome so much detail! I really like the tires you used and the extras on the sides with gauges and tanks. Really sets this MOC apart from most others I have seen great job.

Thanks lots of work to go. Trying to fit all the pneumatic parts will be real challenge. Thanks, I wanted them to resemble the real machine as much as possible. I still have to add the top idler sprockets. Thanks, took me almost a day to figure final design. Yes, been watching your build looking forward to seeing more. I originally was building a forestry bucket truck but it didn't work out. I saw your thread after I started this and didn't want to copy you.

42038 is a great set I have 2 of them just for parts. Not sure if its cheapest but for what you get well worth it. Especially if you can get it on sale at a place like Toys r Us. Also regarding 42053 definitely a most have for builder who wants pneumatic parts and good selection of Technic pieces. I had to get one as soon as they were released and glad I did.Another set I found which is good is the Street Motorcycle 42036. Good parts, panels, and the longer shocks in black. I bought 2 just for shocks, the wheels/tires, and chain links included.

Here is my entry into the contest a tracked dumper with crane. Based off a Morooka/Terramac style crawler carrier platform. Planned Features - Pneumatic Dump Bed - Pneumatic Crane - Detailed Track System - Detailed Cab/Engine Compartment - Pneumatic Pump driven by M-Motor Build Progress Here are some photos of the undercarriage: The dump platform is based off the MB Arocs, but will be further modded to fit this build. Here is a mock up of the crane, based off MB Arocs/effermanns modded design. This will be changed almost completely since it is too large. The crane and dump section need to be redone since they copy an already built design. I just wanted to see how scale and function would work on the tracks. The track design took me a while to figure out since this is my first creation in Technic. I want it to be somewhat modular to help with installing Pneumatics. More to come...

Nice builds, the tubular truck is cool love your design. For some reason it looks like something Batman would drive. -
