That's so clever, well done! It works perfectly and looks good too ;) -
What a fun looking little buggy, now if only it had buggy motors ;) how does I function over obstacles?

For a relatively small build you nailed the shape :) it looks excellent. Any chance on a vid for the functions?

This is really starting to come together nicely, I do think the short nose suits the cat better. I must admit I was quite excited to see you go for it and build a full detailed body, however that being said I do like the very sturdy, simplistic and animalistic approach (very fitting for your fast animal project). Time for the back and taillights, it looks like you already have a nice hatch starting :)

Looking great!! Another question, what's the benefit to the Ackerman steering? Or offsetting the steering one inward?
-
Looks great!! Now it's time to start piecing the body together (?) and I'm very excited to see what you come up with. It's such a good scale and size you'll be able to make use of a variety of panels where most smaller builds you can't use :)

[MOC] Mad Max War Rig Midi
DugaldIC replied to KirTech LAB's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
This is just awesome, I absolutely love the amount of detail, the fact that it's motorized and most of all I'm sooo jealous of your black collection haha! Seriously well done! -

This is awesome, it's reminds me of a Hurst on steroids ;)! I'd like to see a video of how fast this little guy is. Also I for one am also glad to see more people jumping on the torsion bar set up too, very compact suspension solution. -
This is looking great, very robust indeed! You're making some very quick work of this chassis, I wish I was able to build at work ;) out of curiosity what's the width and length between the wheels?

Clean little seats, that quite the compact design! I've been pondering the adjustable seats ever since I saw them in the Stephen wolf, still haven't gotten around to making one though :p I feel like this car is going to have more features than my last three cars combined haha.

Ahh very clever, I'm sure that works great for an HOG model however I'm not too sure it'll stand up to the tourque of two xl motors :p. Very clever concept though, compact and no need to gear something for it to clutch. You shall see ;) I'm sure you already have thoughts on what it might be. Also I really like how you moved the shifter from the stepper, cool solution!
-
Well hopefully you wont have to wait too much longer ;), I've been busy and haven't had the time to build as much as I like. What is this little linear clutches you're using, I've never seen them but they seem like a good idea! Those gear ratios are really far apart, soo unless your first gear is geared down to a crawl it probably wouldn't work for motorized haha although it's never a bad thing to get ideas from it. As I'm still figuring all that stuff out for myself. The framework looks great, 5 studs between the seats isn't too bad, I'm going to have to work in 7 wide towards the bottom and narrow to 5 as my transmission is at the front and I'd still like to make a proper looking interior! Teaser update for you, it's front engine, awd, 4speed sequential, transmission just behind front suspension, sway bars, and all motorized, so far the front including the transmission is together rear is done but I have to join the two now!
-
Yea I hear you, I'm having trouble integrating my transmission as mine has drive and output off centre. I've almost got it worked out but it's definitely tricky! I'd like to see the gear layout a little more clear to see how it works, I might have to modify it for another build ;) I'm using the principle of your stepper in my current build and it works great!

This looks great! I love the idea of the central differential, low and compact. No to see the whole thing drive ;)
