I finally got around to modding the L motors to buggy motors. I used only one buwizz which works fine in normal mode. Massive improvement in speed and highly recommended if building this MOC. Thanks @kbalage for the upgrade and making video of building sequence.

I think the amount of torque and speed you have is excellent. I have a rock crawler with excellent torque that is useful for climbing slopes.

Technic 2018 Set Discussion

If the light green is lime then the smallest panel is new for that colour. -
Amazing! I look forward to building it! Looks like there was a good reason to buy all those used 9398's

Same gearing, drivetrain and same overall weight? Using two L's with servo has no issues when there is less resistance.

I have hundreds of sets and don't have any of the issues being described by others. I personally don't worry about it.

Just awesome! I will be Building this set for sure. Will need to modify so the buwizz can be removed though. The buwizz's need to be shared Was it difficult to setup a controller? This is very fast to try and control on a flat screen.

Superb job! Do you think one buwizz will offer similar performance? It is hard to tell in the pictures, are the buwizz's able to be removed easily to be shared with other models? A video showing rough terrain performance would be awesome.

[WIP] New Supercar
technic_addict replied to Pvdb's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Oh, I also had some issues with the paddle shifter not working. I think one side always gave me trouble and stopped working altogether. May be worth looking at the Porsche design with the improvements the community did as that version is excellent. -
[WIP] New Supercar
technic_addict replied to Pvdb's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I built your previous version a long time ago but two things I remember which maybe could be approved upon. The black spring for the triplex rear suspension would often come apart and the front suspension was way too soft. I look forward to your progression! -
Attitudes and mindsets
technic_addict replied to Bublehead's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
The reason there is attitudes and mindsets is because everyone has their own identity and free will. They will like and dislike different aspects. Should those opinions be voiced, most people ask to be critiqued. How are those opinions written and perceived by the builder can sometimes cause friction. From what I have seen over the years, the forum is not the friendliest to new members, which I think may just be an impatience (like following rules) thing. Unfortunately there are some with big egos; however, a lot of member with humility as well. I am still amazed the LB-X18 collaboration project is going as smoothly as it is. As for the OP, their approach to their very first post on a forum calling their creation game changing was no doubt going to problematic. I look forward to all the amazing MOC's specifically super cars (because that is what I like) being built. -

Congratulations on an Excellent recreation of an iconic car. I think the rear end is stunning and you really nailed the look and feel. As you know, I was critical of the front and was glad that you made some changes to improve the look. Very different build than your super cars you are known for so kudos for taking on the challenge! I look forward to seeing it up close later in the week!

The door mechanism to open and close is so smooth! I don't recall seeing anything like that before. how did you do that?
-
Or didn't want to make Dad look bad for some missing pins. I will be building this for sure! Just have a few other builds to take care of first. Not sure which colour I like the best, but I was curious; will you be posting the red version on rebrickable as well?

it can't be used for buwizz contest unless they changed the rules.

42083 - Bugatti Chiron
technic_addict replied to Jurss's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Yes, rollercoaster and Chiron. -
Did you consider this part? https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=40001&idColor=85#T=C&C=85
-
Yes, I agree. I was just pointing out that L motors will never have the speed that buggy motors have regardless of the use of buwizz. I was very surprised with the speed and torque of your buggy.

Thanks for taking the time to go through some possibilities and finding out which colours exist. I like several of them and would have difficulty choosing between orange/orange/black, white/white/black, and the yellow one looks really nice as well. I know the large yellow panel doesn't exist in the new panel but it does exist in the old panel with hole 44350/51. Do you think it would be easy to modify with that panel?
-
I agree, it looks like the lights now fit with the car. Any chance a render without the enzo wheel caps?
-
These all look amazing which is a testament to the excellent design. I look forward to seeing how it performs with additional weight. Do you plan to make instructions?
-
Thanks for finishing and it looks amazing; albeit some proportions look a little off. Was there any rare or expensive parts in blue?
