Smashing - very helpful sets of pics - when I get round to opening mine I'll defo follow this mod. No need for the shame - little pieces off colour drive me nuts too! -

Nice work, looking good. Now all Palpatine needs is a little ejection flap to dispose of any failing minions given he is at the back.... -

Help needed - rebricked UCS Y-Wing: question about dyes/paint
Hold0511 replied to gottabekd's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Hi KD, I did mine with Satin White PlastiKote - looks good after a good base coat (grey) and about 3 layers of white. Any more and I figured it would start to fill up the connection + (but you could sacrifice a connector part I guess if it needed more coats). The topic with the pics is at http://www.eurobrick...hl=y-wing&st=25 - at that point it had only the base coat and one of white, so is a little off as you can see in my pics, after the third coat was applied it looked pretty much spot on. However, some drooping later, I decided to replace them with the wheel 2903 which looks good but is lighter (http://www.bricklink...={"color":"1"}) I used the same paints in White and Red on building the MOC A-Wing UCS, and that looks fine 15 months later - even after some of the parts where removed and put back on a couple of times post a few tweaks. The main difference is the resultant texture, being slightly grainy on the red, less so on the white - but you could always try the KlearKote finish on top and see what that does. -

Looks good - I agree the 1x10 slopes are nicer looking if you are able to adjust the side slopes as well.

You have to buy it (hence the ...LDDshop name) - the links are in the MOC pages.

Wow, once again you build a fantastic ship - I love this 'little' chap - looks like its flown straight out of the film....brilliant! -
Love Y-wings so this is great, I like the side on shape of the cockpit.

Both are good, but i'd take the top one - I prefer the larger barrel being the same colour grey, and have the darker grey at the end of the nozzle. Plus it shows off the red bar element better (I can see it catching the light easier when looking at different angles).- 161 replies

I built my one of your T47s via LDD (and its so so much better that the official lego one I've had to put that one back in the box to hide it away), but I'm used to the funny way LDD works - I find that if you get some floating parts either flick forwards to see where they join up later in the build (so park them until later) or exit and re-do the building guide - sometimes a second or third generated build guide works better than the first one. I think experience of LDD building helps a lot.- 161 replies

So want to have one of these - probably have to be on the 2017 build list....

Is it time for Lego to update their blaster rifle models?
Hold0511 replied to RetroInferno's topic in LEGO Star Wars
For me anything but studshooters taking over everyset - I appreciate for kids the studshooters can be fun, but so long as blasters/pistols remain available then I'm ok, I'm less bothered about more accurate weapons as that's not really what Lego is about - there are third party suppliers to cover that level of detail.
