  1. Nice - looks good, I'm still lacking the space to even think about BL'ing one of these....but when I do I may emulate this look...time to start saving those tiles...
  2. I used one of each, I tried two but it kinda looked less right - one keeps the look balanced and reduces the weight a little on the pylons. Some of the smaller scale Y-Wing MOC's have some nice approaches to making a brick version of the end nozzle, perhaps have a look at those and scale it up? I avoided the need on my MOC Clone Wars Y-Wing as the pylons are fully enclosed...
  3. I went for the slotted pins and also swapped out the 2x 32007 wheels at the back of the two engines for the lighter 2903 wheels - this helps the engine struts sagging over time and still looks good.
  4. Fantastic update - she looks great and ready to go into battle!
  5. Good shout - I used the same cockpit but from the 9495 Gold Leader Y-Wing set and replaced it via BL - they are cheap even new and look good on the UCS set.
  6. Thats so true - I ended up going into the UCS Snowspeeder straight afterwards as the bug had bitten me. I learn't a lot on the BL front on the Y-Wing though, helped me on the next builds - the CW UCS Y-Wing I did was a lot cheaper as I avoided a lot of the newbie mistakes.
  7. Thanks for sharing Jemakrol, I love Y-Wings and did a similar thing to yourself previously (http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=114682&hl=y-wing&st=25), and likewise did some swap-outs and minor changes. Its a good set for BL'ing as the ship suits different colours and pieces.
  8. Looks great - wonder what the real like version would look like - have you started to build this beauty?
  9. Agreed....lots of 'um'...;erm'...and then 15 seconds of 'but we updated the figures'....
  10. Thats a good shout Azrielsc, I remember the trans blue 6x6 dishes where about £30 a pop!
  11. Dukeside - not sure I've seen a cost on a colour swap from LG to LBG - your best checking what pieces need swapping v's those not seen / other colours, take the inventory from Bricklink / Rebrickable and start building a revised parts list that you can then cost up (something like Brickstock can make it easier to make mass colour changes or do it in Excel or such...). I've done a couple of UCS sets via bricklink and loved doing it but this one is too large in terms of room for me to think about.
  12. Clever idea that Atlas - looks really good...(graduation gown on the judge cmf)
  13. Thanks all - going to see if using the minifig neck bracket might solve the engine fin issue. Jamie - good shout - never thought about using that, as you say may be too much red but worth a look - I'll have to dig out my 10215 from the loft to give it a bash.
  14. I love this MOC - it's menacing and mean looking - such a great job!
  15. I so so want an UCS ISD....yours looks cracking - engine area looks excellent, all in all you must be feeling most satisfied! I wonder if one of the kids would consider sharing a bedroom to make room for one in our house?
  16. Hi all, Sharing my WIP MOC of the Clone Wars era Y-Wing UCS scale. I did a colour swap from yellow to red on the 8037 kit and then thought why not adapt the UCS Y-Wing to the same original Clone Wars style....this is the first pass at that MOC. Update - I've amended the engines (see later post and pics below) and cleaned up the colours and engine fins a tad. A few more phone pics at http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=565968 - once I'm fully happy with it I'll do some better ones. I still need to sort out the engine fin/ribs as they are unattached at the front and hence pull outward, undercarriage needs doing and some general tidying up. I think the biggest issue will be engine droop, so need to have a think about that, plus figuring out a way of changing out the grey 18897's. Anyway any feedback/improvements/ideas welcome...
  17. Another masterpiece! - this is fantastic and as one of my favourite ships its great to see in such detail....I'm now going to slowly savour each pic again....
  18. 2016 Star Wars Advent calendars are available in John Lewis (UK)http://www.johnlewis...lendar/p2985922 - pics show the box front, back and contents (if you want to be surprised best not look at that one!). Update - now available in Lego@shop for the UK.
  19. Sweet - that looks excellent and sets of the ship nicely. Yes you now need to complete set - do you have any thoughts on what the ship/build would be?
  20. The UCS MF 10179 was $499 or £342 here in the UK on release (http://brickset.com/...llennium-Falcon). Gosh new figures aside, I'm glad I got my 10188 last May for £274.99....could not justify so much on virtually the same set.
  21. Fab - love it so retro cool!
  22. Fantastic - love the angles and shapes, excellent job and my new favourite lego T47 build!
  23. Here is my build of IanZerbachov's T-70, I swapped the colours from the black/orange to white/blue as I have the lego Poe set. I had to make some minor amends due what is available in medium blue (sand blue would have been ideal but is even more limited on bricks). Very happy with the result - nice and sturdy even with my quick landing gear addition which I'll now work on a little more to tidy up. Sorry for the poor iphone pics...
  24. Awesome - looks great in bricks - well worth the wait. Another top job LiLme.
  25. Looks good - I like it a lot, good luck with the actual model and show.
