    To be honest as a UK buyer, I find the $ to £ pricing very poor but its always / usually the case and not just with Lego or Disney - and lets be honest the pricing of the recent SW sets does seem high compared to the sets in previous years but such is the pricing model Lego now has for this range. If I really want a set then Ill buy it almost regardless of price, sets which are 'meh' or ok then typically I'll only pick up on a sale or discount, I don't use a price per brick ratio or such, it's just on gut feel....hence why some sets I still don't have 12/18 months after release if they don't move on price. My view is so long as I enjoy it I'll live with the prices - which I guess Lego counts on but hey ho...

    Be interested to see what you swap out on the Snowspeeder 10129 - I ended up changing the canopy a fair bit. Happy with the result now but it went through a number of changes....

    Can't have too many UCS Y-Wings around - modded (like I did as well) or original, yours is looking good and would grace any shelf.

    Hi Nick6314, you can check on Bricklink the pieces for sets (e.g. 7965 - http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?S=7965-1) and see what each set has in it, and then clicking on the part itself tells you what other sets (and colours) its available in. So if you mean the 4L lightsabre bar 30374 its list (a long one - http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=30374&in=S) shows that indeed is in X-wing 9493-1. The part on the speeder bike looks like 30187e - its round but part of the same chassis piece - http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=30187e&idColor=88#T=S&C=88&O={"color":88}

    Thats nice work, easy to miss on the wider base shots. Perhaps a missing portion of the top/bottom fin as well? (or another colour to show blast damage...)

    Even better - thats true though you will need an even bigger base! - can't wait to see your Y-wings. And I for one would love you to share the LDD for the A-wings - brill!

    Good review Bob - played straight down the middle and very fair. I guess the difficulty for me on this one is that unlike most UCS sets, this has been out in various parts and sets before - therefore not much is really new or different, and the two main new 'builds' the Ion cannon and the shield generator both look unfinished (well if counting that missing 4th blade as unfinished)....Now having missed the previous Hoth sets I decided to buy the set, but unlike the other UCS sets I've got, I walked away with that nagging doubt....

    Good spot / shout AY, I'd not noticed that when I checked Lego's shop - wonder why that is? you would have thought Poe's X-wing being the 'hero' ship would have the kudos and any price uplift....whilst I like the blue x-wing the wing design still bugs me so paying an extra £10 is just ticking me off.....A-wing it is then I guess...

    Doing a Y-Wing fix - grabbed a nice unopened Y-Wing 7658 (previous release) on ebay to compare with the later Gold leader version I have, and a used Anakin's 8037 in good condition - did not like it at the time but since then it's nagged away at me...

    The astro-mec head looks like the cones from one of my old Aquanauts sets, but I don't think from memeory they had stickers on them...but its been the box for a while so maybe it has?
