42083 - Bugatti Chiron
Bartybum replied to Jurss's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
My only problem is that for whatever reason the designers went ahead and used that god-awful wheel arch piece and the long panel, sacrificing the curvature of the front sides of the car. If you look at any photo of the Chiron from the same angle as the box, you notice that smooth curve outlining the shape of the front. Lego’s model just doesn’t do that I hadn’t seen a single Chiron MOC anywhere that wasn’t annoyingly boxy, so I was really hoping 42083 would break that trend. I’ve said this before but people definitely care too much about body gaps and nowhere near enough about shaping. -

We already have that. It’s called not having brakes lol -

[MOD] Bublehead’s 8880

If you ever do get a chance to make a video though, please do. I'm quite keen on stuff to do with PID too so seeing how and how well it works would be fascinating. Does it work similarly to this? Because if so, then that's like borderline genius lol -

@WvG_853 Oh man... I really miss the simplistic Technic days. Function over form really needs to make a return - 42080 is just covered in unnecessary fluff- 313 replies

Technic 2018 Set Discussion
Bartybum replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
So it’s worth noting that there is a leak of the Star Wars Imperial Hauler from Solo. By the looks of it there’s four Technic 5x7 frames in brown in the cargo hold below the main hull. -
Can anyone think of a way that might let multiple functions in the H6 gearbox be run at once? Like another piece that moves the clutches than can also swing on the axle that the selector sits on?

It'd be fine if they had like 16 or 24 roller bearings instead of 8.

Sorry but up until now almost everyone was moaning about not having dual molded rebel helmets with visors, and now that we finally get them people are moaning yet again... what the eff? -

I can’t help but feel this set should not have been motorised. Why can’t we just use a hand pump to operate the functions here, especially considering there’s only two of them?- 313 replies

I’ll be honest, it doesn’t really look that cool considering they left out the all important red walls, as well as the sunshade Praetorian helmet which was IMO the coolest helmet -

So turns out Snoke’s Throne room is a giant rip off - $70USD for like ~450 pieces or something. -

That just achieves the same outcome as pinning it to any other stationary point on the first section of the boom. -

You heard that they were new? Because I’m 100% certain they’re the knee and elbow pads of the 75532 Scout Trooper and Speeder Bike but in yellow. -
