  1. For a drivetrain with as little intertia as this one, I can assure you that it will make little difference. The props will still stop spinning almost immediately. The combined friction in the drivetrain (axles, bushes, 90 degree bevels) is going to be much greater than the friction in the 20z/16z pair.
  2. Eh, doubt it. There's probably significant enough clearance between gear teeth that it fits comfortably
  3. When it comes to the boom and jib I agree, but the superstructure and tracks are very poorly recreated.
  4. Oh lmao turns out all I had to do was Google Image search CaDA JCB Excavator to see it... it's so different to what I remember, I could have sworn it was a more orange-yellow, but maybe that was just the lighting
  5. Did they cancel a large RC excavator? I feel like I saw pics of something a year and a half ago but nothing since
  6. Sure, but in the case of a gearbox that's played with top-down, it's more compact when the levers all share the same axle. The only advantage the cross axle hole has over a pin hole is to rotate the lever via the axle. While this could sometimes be useful, it's redundant since you already have the cross axle hole at the tip
  7. In regards to suspension I'm not sure I'd agree that it's an improvement over the Bronco. It's just incomplete in a different way.
  8. Mmm I see... A sticker would've worked there methinks
  9. That front bumper snoot is hilarious, also no idea what's going on behind the left door
  10. I think it's hilarious how they just straight up lied about the correct firing order, but I'm not surprised in the slightest
  11. I'll happily admit that it's subjective, but I value mechanical creativity far more than electronics (e.g. I prefer gearboxes to use stepper mechanisms rather than servo motors), especially if it gives me more pieces to reuse later
  12. I mean, it's going to be a bit difficult to realistically replicate a broadband spectrum of shockwaves : Clicking gears are the best thing we can do that doesn't involve an expensive (and imo pointless) sound brick. I think the clicking gears are a fun little solution.
  13. Racingbrick said it was to simulate the rocket exhaust sound
  14. Hahah glad I'm not the only one who thinks this. I recently finished UGEARS' 3-axis tourbillon clock tower and my god it's a technical MASTERPIECE, but dear lord how much easier it would have been to build using Lego pieces THAT YOU CAN TAKE APART IF YOU MAKE A MISTAKE. If Lego had one with multiple pullback motors in parallel they could make something absolutely fantastic. While that is definitely cool, I'm talking more like this:
  15. The mechanisms are pretty trivial here. The boosters are held by arms that swing out when their guide rail/track curves away from the main tower. The Orion vehicle is lifted away by a forklift chain/rope mechanism that goes taut at a certain point. Nothing particularly complex here, but the end result is quite neat. I think there's a market worth exploring for well designed Technic kinetic sculptures. We got the Forma fish back in 2019 (although that set's motion was terribly designed and it ended up looking like it just flopped around). I think there's a decent number of things you can create mechanisms of - a clock with a 3-axis tourbillon, a galloping horse, a heap of different swimming marine animals, a million different GBC modules, the list goes on. Laser cut plywood kits are getting more and more advanced mechanisms (UGEARS has a 3-axis tourbillon clock tower), and I think Lego is in an extremely advantageous market position since it allows for a faster design process, and more consistent build quality.
  16. According to Racingbrick it's for sound. I suspect it's to simulate the popping shockwave sound the rocket makes on launch
  17. Hell yeah, more of this kinda stuff please TLG. But god imagine if they made sets at this scale with pneumatics
  18. You know what that's pretty cool, but man I can imagine people are gonna be pissed the back isn't closed
  19. The rear live axle is nice, but it's a shame about the front axle. If we're going to be hounded with nothing but small cars then for once in our lives TLG can we please get one that has solid axles in both the front AND rear? None of this pendulum BS please
  20. Hey that's pretty cute. I wonder if the rear axle is live or if it's just like 42075
  21. How come those links at the rear are bending so much in the video?
