Technic 2020 Set Discussion
Bartybum replied to dimaks13's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
To be fair, the criticisms are pretty squarely around what we know about it, and it isn’t being dragged through the mud for speculatory things like how well the functions perform. People don’t like that it’s ugly and doesn’t represent real cranes, they don’t like that the outriggers are operated separately and they don’t like that there’s no B-model. Those aren’t things that are going to change when people get their hands on the set. -
I think it's especially worth it now, since the designer is actually now working on a B-model trophy truck:

That crane boom doesn’t seem to raise as slowly as I was worrying, so that’s nice. Also big lol at the catamaran promo. There’s not much playability with the set unfortunately. It’s little more than a functional display model (not that I dislike it) -

As did the McLaren F1 -
This is a god-tier MOC for how clever the mechanism is.

Your Best Technic Bargains
Bartybum replied to Kumbbl's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I can see it might not be for everyone (namely because of the stickers) but I'm a big fan of the set. Now if only I could find 42038 to get those black sprockets and torque tubes... -

Oof, they really gotta stop making these cars so tall. And my god, the Lamborghini pricing is extortion full-stop. God I hope that set flops hard. -

God I hope not. I like C+ so far but we really need small dumb battery boxes. -

Man I can't get over how ugly this crane is. It totally looks like what you'd expect from a knockoff brand set. I'm currently looking at a picture of a knockoff brand 6-wheel white mobile crane and it's so much nicer to look at than this -

Truth is, classic cars are much easier to replicate because they're generally boxier and simpler in design. -

You get a clue. Clearly it isn’t a petty grievance if a large number of people that don’t like it feel the need to speak up about it. -

What's this talk about 8460? This set is clearly an 8053 successor -
