I can’t build supercars for smack (never tried) but I sure do love critiquing designs All I can say is flex axles flex axles flex axles. They’re key for the body lines, and imo shouldn’t be left to panels unless you can get the shape just right. Don’t settle for straight lines that should be slightly curved either, because they’ll be noticeable. Another thing is proportion. I genuinely don’t think I’ve ever seen a single Bugatti Chiron MOC I’ve liked, solely because they all fail to follow the lines of the front accurately. I think it’s okay to leave a few gaps in the body instead of trying to fill them in completely and sacrificing the shaping.

Technic 2020 Set Discussion
Bartybum replied to dimaks13's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
But if "2w" did indeed mean "two wheels" then realistically it'd be a motorbike of some kind. If the 60EUR price is correct, then I doubt it'd be some sort of self-balancing gyro. To have any appeal that would demand electronics and two motors, which i don't see happening for so little money. And yet Ngoc is saying it's not a motorbike, so I'm very interested to find out what the hell 2w actually means. -
LEGO Ideas International Space Station 10271(?)

Was kinda hoping it'd be somewhat larger (say ~80cm wide instead of 50), but the accessible price point is also nice. Definitely going to get it -

@M_longer I think it should just be the standard Liebherr mobile crane cabin, nothing too fancy. Perhaps something that looks similar to 42009 or 8053 -
Technic 2020 Set Discussion
Bartybum replied to dimaks13's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
It’s definitely meant to be the 5000. The 3800 has single headlights, and the set’s double headlights have the same aggressive look that the 5000 has. -
Because economics. People weren't willing to fork out extortionate money, and Lego couldn't charge any less because of the niche molds and licensing.

Oh hell yes this thing is beautiful -
Oooh actually I suppose so, I forgot about the obvious big ones. I guess I'm only really looking at it from the perspective of getting a single part type instead of the whole collection. In either case, both sets work together to make a very good parts pack. More <$20 small sets should include mini pneumatics and springs. We need a way to source them on a budget without Bricklink

Yeah I'm still mega pissed about that - we were gonna get a super battle droid and a clone trooper with an AT-RT walker: https://www.rebelscum.com/story/lego/LEGO_Buildable_Figures_Have_They_Been_Cancelled_179851.asp -
[REVIEW] 42101 - Buggy

Doubt it, and even if it does it’s entirely unnecessary, since the 4L beam has an axle connector anyway. -

No argument from me there, Xiaomi's mobile crane is a beautiful looking set. Btw, if anyone has instructions to it, please could you send them to me via pm? I can't find anything online -
42108 - Mobile Crane
Bartybum replied to Ngoc Nguyen's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I mean, it’s got all the functions expected of a mobile crane so idk what you’re on about. Functionally the only egregious things are the outriggers and the lack of an engine, which is clearly because it’s got 4 steering axles. Other than that it’s pretty standard Also, the spider crane is bare bones in its bodywork so it’s hardly surprising this has more parts. This crane is comparable in size to the forest harvester -

Jesus this is definitely not worth the $180AUD RRP. That's almost as much as 42080 and 42081, both of which had far more to give. I wouldn't have expected it to be more than $130AUD -
