  1. I don't think they'll work. The current wheels are big enough as is. I think the Mustang wheels might look better
  2. I’ve just noticed that the reason the front doesn’t bother me is because I’ve kept confusing the Charger and Challenger... in any case it looks like a hybrid between the two lol
  3. There is, it uses a torque tube piece and hard springs. Regarding people’s comments on the ride height, I think if you replace the springs with soft ones it might be better.
  4. Aaaaand suddenly your entire argument commenting on how much you find wrong about the set and how much it doesn't deserve your money means nothing, and becomes equally as good as praise.
  5. Definitely recommend 42043, it's by far the best Technic set in history. Another close rival is the 8880, but good luck finding that anywhere. A list of all the sets I'd recommend looking at for interesting functions in order of release, along with why they're cool: 8880 Super Car (cool H-shifter gearbox) 8460 Pneumatic Crane Truck (pneumatics) 8442 Pneumatic Log Loader (same) 8480 Space Shuttle (same, opening payload bay) 8459 Pneumatic Front-End Loader (same) 8455 Back-Hoe (100% pneumatics) 8416 Forklift (cool mechanism) 8421 Mobile Crane (6 wheel steering and crane) 8288 Crawler Crane (realistic cable rigging) 8295 Telescopic Handler (large crane arm with 4-wheel steering and engine) 8258 Crane Truck (cool knuckle crane) 8265 Front Loader (interesting vehicle, linear actuators) 8043 Motorized Excavator (kick-megablocks RC excavator with cool drive mechanism and gearbox) 8049 Tractor with Log Loader (pneumatics) 8110 Mercedes-Benz Unimog U400 (second-best pneumatic set ever, motorized compressor, dual solid axle suspension) 9396 Helicopter (collective pitch rotor control, but no cyclic) 9398 4x4 Crawler (RC, dual solid axle suspension) 42005 Monster Truck (cool dual solid axle suspension in a medium set) 42006 Excavator (interesting grabber mechanism, distribution gearbox, 8043-lite) 42009 Mobile Crane (large 5-axle mobile crane, 8-wheel steering, multiple distribution gearboxes, one of my fav sets ever) 42021 Snowmobile (interesting vehicle, fully sprung suspension) 42038 Arctic Truck (very unique vehicle, dual solid axle suspension with cool mini crane on back) 42042 Crawler Crane (interesting vehicle, distribution gearbox with track drive) 42048 Race Kart (interesting vehicle, 2-speed gearbox) 42052 Heavy Lift Helicopter (coaxial rotor, funky cargo bay) 42053 Volvo EW160E (pneumatics) 42054 CLAAS Xerion 5000 (interesting vehicle, clever steering mechanism) 42055 Bucket Wheel Excavator (very interesting vehicle, kinda sluggish functions though, massive distribution gearbox, crazy awesome once modded to work properly) 42066 Air Race Jet (interesting vehicle, VTOL functions, distribution gearbox) 42078 Mack Anthem (interesting container crane trailer) 42082 Rough Terrain Crane (large distribution gearbox, 4-wheel steering, giant crane fully extended) 42100 Liebherr R 9800 (need I say more?) 42105 Catamaran (unique vehicle, cool sails and rudders)
  6. I think the functions generally dictate how I’ll respond to a Technic set’s aesthetics. If the functions are good (as is the case here) then I’ll be more relaxed about the aesthetics. If the functions are sparse and/or poorly executed (like the 911 RSR and 42077 rally car) then I’ll go a lot harder on the aesthetics, since there’s less propping the set up. With this set I’m happy ignoring that as a replica it has some (but not many tbh) aesthetic faults, and to just treat it as a functional Technic muscle car. The price is a little bit steep in that case, however ($180AUD could be worse, but I’ll see if I can get it for $130-40 secondhand or whatever). Speaking of prices, Canada is getting it for cheaper as usual with large sets... lucky guys
  7. BALL SOCKET FRAMES ARE BACK Five years of waiting boys, five years
  8. From memory, I think almost all instances of live axle suspension in sets have featured springs rotated 90 degrees. You need it like that for the axle to roll.
  9. We might be getting a solid rear axle in this set :o
  10. Damn I change my mind, this thing looks sick. Dig that it doesn't use wheel arches
  11. It looks alright, but I think using fewer curved panels would’ve helped. I worry it’ll look a bit too curvy
  12. What makes you think he didn’t already try? Perhaps he couldn’t come up with a solution and decided to settle for a compromise?
  13. I dunno if it’s the language barrier, but it kinda sounds like you’re dictating what he should be doing. Like I said before, he probably already tried but couldn’t find any way to do so; the front part of a backhoe is quite compact.
  14. 1) Well because obviously he wanted all four wheels to be the same size 2) Personally I don’t think it matters anywhere near that much
  15. 1) it's a model with a lot of functions crammed into such a compact space, so i'm hardly surprised it's hard to get a tight turning radius 2) look at all the cables there. there's no space for a seat
  16. Looks spot on, would love to see a video of it
  17. I wonder if it's actually a scam. Not that I'd buy, but I wonder if he actually follows through
  18. I was thinking the same, but it's just a skewed image so the faults aren't as obvious
  19. Oh totally, I agree with that. They're totally worthy of Model Team status
  20. Oof, that Stormtrooper helmet leaves a little to be desired; its mouthpiece is a tiny bit too high up, making the face look all squashed. Fett’s helmet is quite nice though.
  21. So basically, wishing it hadn’t been the A60H
