An AT-DP microfighter, after getting the Tie proto yesterday, i figured the imperial forces on my MF/polybag/loose figs shelf could use some more reinforcement, if only to finally evict those damn clone troopers.

Just make some ranking in your imperial forces, the dark-tan guys can be the low ranking officers (or the ground troop officers etc..) -
LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
Vectormatic replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Id prefer an arquitens light cruiser on the imperial side, but i'd be fine with an interdictor as well, basically any new imperial ship to add to the fleet is welcome -
My mistake, im not that thoroughly schooled on classic american muscle, i just associate the blue with twin white stripes with Ford (because GT40). Googling mustangs though, the 66 doesnt have the fastback roofline. Anyway, i am also expecting something modern, id prefer a Ferrari FXX-K over a porsche any day

Picked up the Tie proto microfighter today, it was highest on my To-buy list of the new MFs, and i felt like i needed a small lego impulse buy (was a grinding day again), next up will probably be the Ghost, im holding off on the TFA MFs until after i see the movie

At least the italians have the sense to put the engine in the right place... and actually design a new car once in a while rather then re-hashing the same flattened beetle for over 40 years. Seriously though, i wasnt expecting a 911 GT3 RS, and im curious how Lego would build a €300 911. Im not the biggest porsche fan, and the 911 is one of those "i can appreciate the engineering, but it doesnt speak to me" kind of cars, but if it is a solid model, ill certainly consider it (and find out how to mod it to a proper racing car like the RSR) And now into party-pooper mode, does anyone have any real reason to believe mackset? He is a new poster, and none of his 5 posts contain stuff that couldnt be easily bluffed, and he gave up the car model quite easily for someone who was instructed by the person showing him the product list to keep leaks to a minimum.

That looks awesome, im willing to bet an Octan livery would look awesome as well (very allitalia lancia), the higher angle windscreen gives it an old school vibe, and those 80s rally cars were bonkers.

2016 Speed Champions Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Vectormatic replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Town
small niggle, but shouldnt the grill say "RAPTOR" rather then "ford" if it really is a raptor rather then a generic F150? EDIT: i was wrong, the Raptor has the big "FORD" grill, the generic F150 has a silver grill and the normal ford badge on the hood. Somehow i got it in my head that the raptor had a big RAPTOR grill -
Im not saying it isnt a Ford, but theyve got partnerships with many brands, Ferrari, Porsche, Audi, McLaren, Chevy, and others in the past as well (BMW, Lambo), it could just as easily be any of those. Could be something unbranded even, going with a replica of a real vehicle would tie their hands in regards to what kind of features/structures they can use, so if they want to build an ultimate supercar (ignoring the Intelectual Property interpretation of the IP bit here), something unbranded might offer them more freedom. Let's hope London/Nuremberg give us some more info!

REVIEW 75135 Obi Wan's Jedi Interceptor
Vectormatic replied to Vectormatic's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Same here, life, kids etc.. all cost a lot more money then lego, so choices have to be made. As for the proto-Tie, imho it isnt worth the sticker price (at least here in europe), but at a slight discount its not terrible, im not the biggest fan of how they angled the wings though, so its definitely not a must-have set. The assault carrier is a good deal more interesting, but again, not worth sticker price imho, and it needs a few mods to look like the screen material. Ive got a gaming habit, various other lego themes and some die-cast cars as well to budget in :D -
[REVIEW]: 30279 Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle (polybag)
Vectormatic replied to Hygrotus's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Shame that the wings about on hinges, but alas.. Nice review, thanks! -
So this set showed up in stores yesterday, and i immediately picked two up. All in all it is a nice set, but it is slightly different from what i was expecting, the plane feels a bit "flat", pointy nose, wide bottom etc.. And while the panels work very well as wings, it feels a bit simplistic to just have single-part wings. The stickers really work for it though. Its a cracking set though, nice parts pack, and a nice model as well

REVIEW 75135 Obi Wan's Jedi Interceptor
Vectormatic replied to Vectormatic's topic in LEGO Star Wars
That's a nice and pragmatic approach I think this set is overpriced, mostly because of the €5 pricehike it got in my country, but in the end it is a good looking set, and the stickers and correct minifigs really do add to it, which i wouldnt have had if i bricklinked my own version, which would have cost roughly the same anyway. I do find myself getting pickier when it comes to SW lego though, given the price increases compared to other themes, a set either needs to be on sale, or really impressive for me to pick it up -
I like the build, its a pretty cool escape pod, nice build, like the front window etc.. But man, those stickers.... especially the big ones on the tube sections are asking for crooked application etc.. I have the 2001 droid escape, and at least that had two printed panels.

LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
Vectormatic replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Sounds roughly believable, the combined cost for 75038 and 75082 (two similar vehicles) is $65, and that includes one minifig more, and both vehicles might be slightly simpler, then again, lego/disney has been on a price gouging streak lately (and for those interested, european cost for those two sets is €85, or €90 with the new interceptor, so im guessing we will get to pay €90-100) -

IIRC Tarkin gets promoted to Grand Moff in the Tarkin novel, which according to wikipedia is set 5 years after Ep III, while rebels starts off at 14 after Ep III -
REVIEW 75135 Obi Wan's Jedi Interceptor
Vectormatic replied to Vectormatic's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks! it did take me a lot more time then just building, but it was a fun experience for sure. Im not too sure about the end score myself, i really hesitate to score an aspect below 6 (although i probably should have for price, i guess it doesnt help that for my particular desire this was the cheapest option), and it still is a very cool swooshable spaceship. Definitely not a 6 in my book, but a 7 might have been better. As for differences, check out the bulges on the wings next to the cockpit, the angle of the leading edge of the wings, the main guns, and the shape of the wings near the engines (and the engines themselves), those are the most obvious exterior differences
