  1. Not that i know off, and it could very well be a subsidiary of Octan (TLM showed Octan makes pretty much anything in lego world right?) Im just a bit nostalgic for good old green-white-red, and hope lego doesnt go overboard with the the ficticious branding.
  2. The buggy and stunt truck look epic, they will stand proudly next to 60053 and 60113 Im a bit disappointed to see the Octan branding disappear, but more colour variety is a good thing, and i wouldnt mind "Smooth oil" becoming a bigger player in Lego City (and im secretly wondering if someone on the design team is a Rossi fanboy :P) The plane looks a tad awkward, the cockpit is a bit too bubly for my taste, but nothing that cant be solved
  3. I dislike both, i havent seen the show eps featuring it, but it looks awkward in images, maybe the show will shed some light on it, but i dont see why Yoda would need something so custom (and imho oa bit ugly) instead of an Eta-2 with modified pilot controls Comparing show pics with the lego model im no fan of the lego model either, the big gaps on the leading edge of the panels and the oversized bulky cockpit.. But as i said, ill probably buy it regardless.
  4. Im entirely torn The Eta-2 is my favorite fighter in the SW universe, and i kind of dislike Yoda's variant for being a stubby bastardized mongrel of an eta-2 (really, they couldnt just put a booster seat in a normal Eta-2 and call it a day?) On the other hand, its a small eta-2 ish fighter, and i love those sets, and i dont have Yoda yet. I just hope we dont get the usual €35 pricetag for it over here again... Ill probably pick it up, as this, and the Y-wing (normal + microfighter) are the only things im really interested in
  5. Love the review, but i have to disagree on the sticker hate and the verdict on the 69 Camaro. Sure, it looks ridiculous with the big rear tires, but that is actually how these modded drag camaros look Stickers... well, they are a given with SC sets... Again, love the review style though, your review of the imperial shuttle is a favorite of mine EDIT: i modded my 69 camaro to have normal sized rear wheels, and dropped the air scoop one plate, looks a lot less ridiculous that way
  6. The differences arent that large in real life, a black bonnet, the two small spoilers at the back, a slightly more agressive splitter at the front, and a different exhaust/difuser setup. Apart from the colours/stickers, the only differences that show up in lego scale are the two spoilers at the back and the difuser/exhaust bit, but given that that bit was a sticker on the 2015 SC model, it might very well be the same. That makes this a rather difficult set, either it is 95% identical to the old LaFerrari, and isnt really worth getting (for the car itself), or it includes a significantly improved build, and i'd be inclined to upgrade the old model... again ending up with two nearly identical cars.
  7. I absolutely love vehicles like this, one day ill have to make a few Panzers myself
  8. The jet sounds cool, but im not really happy with the light-blue/black combo. Pretty much any technic set with light blue so far looks atrocious because of the light-blue imho.. 42036 looks SO much better with a proper red/white scheme, and im not even touching the funny-car drag racer.
  9. So for Yoda's interceptor we are talking about the bubble cockpit with the two attached forward-wings right? Part of me would actually prefer a re-colour of 75135, id like to do a green Eta-2, but im not sure if all the pieces exist in the right colour (the 6x6 trapezoid flags in particular)
  10. Wow, so the ford GT set IS happening... Im on the fence about getting it considering i bricklinked the GT40.... (and after what ford pulled at LM24 this year im not exactly keen on displaying their new GT), if it comes with pearl golden wheels i might upgrade my GT40 with a set of those though. The SF16H will be a sure buy, as will the AMG GT and Chiron, but ill probably give the pitstop set a pass, im not a fan off the big playsets, and paying €100 for two identical F1 Mercs is kinda meh... CM4Sci, do you happen to know if the FXX is the original (Enzo-based) FXX, or the (LaFerrari-based) FXX-K? Kind of a shame if we only get 3 single car sets instead of the usual 4, those are my favorites, no money wasted on display paraphernalia im gonna scrap anyway. EDIT: I guess that is Pascal Wehrlein filling in for Lewis then?
  11. Fair point! i actually rewatched the battle last night before posting, but the braha-tok totally slipped past me, the Tector is an Imperial without the hangar bays right? 6211 has only 4 gun turrets, ISDs have 8 (and all the dark bley bits... yuck), i fixed my 6211 for the proper turrets. I know its a minor niggle, but given the relatively minor differences between various types of star destroyer (and no definitive scale in lego), this sort of thing really bugs me. 8039 might get its proportions all wrong, but most minor details are correct, and there is no other ship in universe it could be confused for. Even if you wave away 6211 inaccuracies in the turret and colour dept, it could just as easily be a Tector as an Imperial, and it is only a few extra plates away from being a Victory
  12. Nothing that hasnt already been mentioned, Nebulon B, Mon-cal cruisers and rebel transports. On the Imperial side there might be a star destroyer variant which doesnt fit the two minifig scale models, but those are questionable to begin with, 6211 for instance is not a real Imperial Class, or Victory Class, the two main types of SD Fighter wise everything in the final battle has been done, although the Tie-int could use a new version, the last one was a blue-tie
  13. Hmm, just a single articulation point on the AT-ST legs, thats a shame (but to be expected i guess) The shuttle is quite impressive, space for crennic and 4 troopers+weapons, and you can probably fit two extra with some modification
  14. Ive done a complete 180 on the hovertank since the first pics, i want that little thing, it looks awesome, and i probably want it more than the AT-ST Im not happy with the prices though, dutch prices will probably end up being high enough to dissuade me from buying much if any of these sets :(
  15. I really like the hovertank and AT-ST, but €40 and €50.. and since this year dutch prices have been higher then the baseline euro prices... so im expecting €45-50 and €55-60... IF i can find a good deal i might buy em, but honestly, maintaining an imperial army is getting expensive these days, what happened to that free whookie slave labour?
  16. 6-wide, i absolutely love the modern 6-wide city cars, and the Speed Champions line. That said, i might be able to get used to 8-wide if lego does a bunch of em, but most 8-wide MOCs just look weird, despite them being more true to real cars then 6-wides
  17. Well, finally got my parts in and finished it! I think i know why lego doesnt want to put it out as an official set, the whole front area is a bit flimsy, the slanted nose and the gap in the main structure to accommodate the hood-scoops all make it less sturdy then a typical SC car (ive got 12 of the official ones to compare). Put this in the hands of young kids used to the other cars in the line, and itll fall apart a lot. That said, i absolutely LOVE it. It is a very good model, and thanks again Ron for reverse engineering it from the video! It is now standing between the R18 and Mustang in my SC display (i try to keep a sort of link between each car and the next.)
  18. Im interested in the $9.99 sets (sports plane especially!), as those tend to be fun builds with good detail and entertainment value, and make for good desk toys at work The pizza van is a sure buy as well, because pizza!
  19. These are issues with all the SC sets i think, its just not very doable to capture the real proportions very well in such small lego sets, maybe with an 8-wide base, but that would quickly make them more expensive.
  20. Make the suspension pneumatic! that way you only need 3 more pneumatic functions to compensate for the non pneu steering :D
  21. If the point was to update the part usage in 10188 (to remove old molds etc..), then this should have just been 10188-2, and not used a UCS slot, especially considering it quite probably used very little design effort to produce this set. Personally im absolutely baffled that the walls still use straight bricks rather then some slopes on the edges, to make it look less like a jaggy mess.
  22. Very nice! Do you have the SC 919 or R18? Im interested to see how the subtle differences between 6-wide town and SC scales pan out.
  23. Will do! I dont know what the problem was with the import, you had some weird colours in there though. And yeah, i screwed up typing the parts list into BL rather spectacularly, i missed a whole bunch of plates (which i managed to pilfer from my old tub of lego, there are a decent amount of 90s parts in the model), two wheel arches (which im still waiting on...), and having two out of three orders contain seller mistakes... Depending on whether the correct wheel arches get here tomorrow (which is possible, but the seller was one day slow on the original order), it might have taken me two weeks to build this little car Well worth it though, since yesterday its sitting on tires and has the correct tint rear window, and it does look the business! just missing the front wheel arches, which also makes the hood a bit flimsy. As soon as i get the arches in, ill add the car to the big SC lineup on display! (and probably start designing some of my own SC cars, i really want an F40!)
  24. It seems there is a curse on this model, i just received the right tires, and a second shipment to correct some of my own mistakes, but the second seller sent me the wrong wheel arches, which are meant for the wrong tires i received in the first place... It is starting to look the business though
  25. The ford GTs were officially denied as coming as sets AFAIK, but there are people on here who made LDD instructions for both models. Im in the process of bricklinking the GT40, and it looks awesome so far (just missing two wheel arches and the tires...)
