  1. I believe its modeled off a F35, it is used to hover the plane, the F35 has an opening hull to stabilize the front though.
  2. Really cool, from my memory the sbrick is supposed to be rated at 10.8V without it getting damaged, one way to have precise control and higher voltage is use a ESC and receiver from hobby RC cars, I have done something like this but not with higher voltage, the remote has about I want to say more then 40meter range in a open place .
  3. Congratulations to all the winners, this was a good contest.
  4. No, the front drive gear is 12T front differential is 36T and the gears in the portal axle are 12T-20T while the back drive gear is 12T-20T and te gears in the portal axles are 8T-24T. It's a little confusing but both axles have the same ratio but the gears are in different places.
  5. I made some adapters to use the non-lego esc with Lego and the receiver-controller and made another version on my super crawler to test it out, the best part was the range and intimidate control over the motors, the steering servo worked well but a higher torque servo would have been better. IMG_0984 by JJ2Sam, on Flickr IMG_0980 by JJ2Sam, on Flickr IMG_0982 by JJ2Sam, on Flickr you can see the receiver and ESC here, I used double sided tape to keep them on the Lego pieces IMG_0977 by JJ2Sam, on Flickr I could have used a lego servo but mine are broken and there was no way of adapting them so I just used a non-Lego one IMG_0981 by JJ2Sam, on Flickr The rear axle is a slightly improved version of my V1 axle with less flex and different mounting points This is the differential I used on the front axle.
  6. Looks really cool so far, sorry if I missed this but is it going to be RC?
  7. Here are the pictures. I'm most interested in 42064, it looks like great parts pack.
  8. +1 I have made a few pictures pointing out pieces that are useful BMW by JJ2Sam, on Flickr It seems like they have recolored the 5L axle with stop to the red-ish brown color also it looks like there will be something in the top storage compartment because the pin with a axle block is there, and there's a U-joint that I'm guessing is the way drive is transmitted without a chain like the real thing.
  9. Oh, I must have missed that.
  10. Is that what I think it is?! Thank you lego, I have been wanting that piece forever.
  11. Wow the BMW looks really cool, the front suspension looks great.
  12. Amazing creation I really like your building style. I would not call the suspension pendular, its more of a independent type.
  13. The servo horn is finished https://www.shapeways.com/product/PTQ38EVU2/lego-technic-servo-horn?optionId=61113788&li=shop-inventory the axle hole is slightly shorter then a single stud because servo motors are not the same as Lego in length and a full stud might be to long.
  14. That's not good for your tires, did that with 9398 tires and now they will never fit on the regular hubs again.
  15. How much space do you have? you can use a scissor lift you also could use a chain lift ( cant find a picture at the moment ) or you could use a pulley system like an elevator.
  16. Do you mean a servo horn? Efferman has made something of the sort, but I can design a liftarm that can be screwed into to hold it. I have found out that a 4 stud L beam fits perfectly so you can screw the liftarm to the servo.
  17. Thanks, I will be designing more parts soon, do you have any suggestions?
  18. Yes that's what I meant, I read this topic and I thought whats what it was called. If you want I can PM you a screenshot.
  19. Love the new graphics Jim, they look a lot better then the old one.
  20. Was quite hard to choose what entries to vote for, this was a great contest. 20: 10 1: 6 12: 4 13: 3 6: 2 21: 1
  21. Incredible! The flex axles on the front door make it look really round, also the curved door panels is a great touch.
