[MOC] 4x4 Super Crawler V2
JJ2 replied to JJ2's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Yes easy to understand, I actually let a little boy drive mine but quickly took it away because of the steering gears being ground. -
[MOC] 4x4 Super Crawler V2
JJ2 replied to JJ2's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thanks! Yours more looks like a monster truck, how does it work without a Sbrick? One thing I noticed is the front L-Motors wire is close to the steering gear, the 1x1 bushing on the blue pin is used to sandwich the wire so no grinding happens. -

JJ2's Custom part designs
JJ2 replied to JJ2's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Here is my latest designed part, it is a 5x7 frame made to hold 3/16 ball bearings. This part will be useful when you want high RPM's going through a differential but don't want the friction involved and the possibility of boring out the holes (Guilty) The rounded parts that stick out are half a stud think so it will not be an odd length that interferes with other parts. https://www.shapeways.com/product/PRS6LM26T/lego-5x7-frame-with-holes-for-3-16-ball-bearings?key=bc0ac1ca44c1d43a560cb81fc1310186 -

Okay cool, I can understand the time involved doing this.

I have just checked all of mine and all of them are fine... Except for the one that had to much torque going through it.

Are you planning on giving the different sub-forums their own banners like they used to have?

Go to the top right of the page where your profile picture is displayed and click "Retrobrick83" then hit "account settings" then signature is the last option.

Maybe stacking black beams to cover them would look okay. -
What shul I buy?

Selfless advertising here but I have used non lego motors with an Sbrick and it was a bad result, the slight delay in Sbrick is not noticeable while driving slower creations but that delay could mean either you creation in the ditch in 1000 pieces or still on the road, I would recommend using a RC receiver not sbricks. Here is a good cheap remote with a receiver that I use to control my models https://www.amazon.com/FlySky-FS-GT3B-2-4GHz-3-Channel-Transmitter/dp/B00FS2UAHS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1476459902&sr=8-1&keywords=flysky+receiver+remote and here is a good ESC to control you motor https://www.amazon.com/HobbyWing-QUICRUN-1060-Brushed-ESC/dp/B00LXCM3Q8/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1476460067&sr=8-6&keywords=RC+car+esc Those are the best cheap ones but here a Traxxas ESC that is made for Lipo batteries. https://www.amazon.com/Traxxas-Electronic-Waterproof-low-voltage-detection/dp/B0046LBJCM/ref=sr_1_16?ie=UTF8&qid=1476460120&sr=8-16&keywords=RC+esc I would also recommend buying a Traxxas 550 12T motor, it is a great high quality motor as long as you cover it up making sure no particles can get into it https://www.amazon.com/Traxxas-3785-Titan-Turn-Motor/dp/B000HKH0T2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1476460257&sr=8-1&keywords=Traxxas+550+motor+12T -

The pictures are okay what did you use to edit them? Gimp? It looks cool but the battery box is in a weird spot, I think it would look better in the back of the truck. -
What happened to the red "Poll" that used to be next to topics that had polls? Was it intentional to get rid of or a mistake?

I always use 3/4 pins never pins with studs for some reason, I might now though. -
