Efferman's Custom Parts
JJ2 replied to efferman's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Efferman just wondering what measurements do you use for your axle holes and pin holes, my axles and pin holes are always either too tight or too loose. -
[MOC] MAZ-535 Trial truck
JJ2 replied to Pego's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Cool suspension design using only 1 U-J per wheel, it seems to work well. I did the same trick to my tires and I really like the grip of them, they work so much better then the 9398 ones. -
Lego Pneumatic Engine V4 [MOC]
JJ2 replied to 2x4Studios's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Nice engine but don't EVER use WD40 on plastic! WD40 is a petroleum based lubricant and will slowly eat away at the lego parts making them soft or breakable. Only use lithium grease or non-petroleum based lubricants on plastic. -
Looks good, The suspension setup looks pretty robust, one thing I would change is the front springs are mounted on a 4L axle with no half bush, I would put one there to stop binding. I'm not a fan (no pun intended) of the radiator fan in the front, it looks a little to big.

[MOCs] Pickup & Hatchback
JJ2 replied to Madoca 1977's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Very nice MOC's, like really like the Pickup, the lockable diff's are a cool feature. I like this picture the most I'm not so much of a fan of the hatchback, the colors are a little off to me, @legolijntje Version looks very nice I love the clean lines on the hatchback though, the curved panel on the roof works very well. -
[MOC] Black Envy Supercar
JJ2 replied to Victor Imaginator's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Amazing supercar for only 12 hours of build time, at 12 hours of build time I usually only have about the front suspension done I think the new headlight design is much better, but I think the wold air intakes look better. -
Good solution, my servo broke so I took it apart and I found that the wires somewhere in between the lego plug and the motor has become stripped out, it was just a simple, cut the wires and re-solder to make it work again.

[MOC/MOD] Indominus MKII Truck
JJ2 replied to SilenWin's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Incredible creation, it's amazing that something that large can still move that fast. I like the way you build the chassis, it looks very rigid, do you have a 5x7 frame count on this creation -
Try getting rid of the panhard rod and putting a 4-link or leaf springs in using flex axles, your panhard link is misaligned also, it should not be at a diagonal like that put strait with the place its mounted, you could try a beam instead of a link to make it more rigid and have less of an effect when your axles goes up and down.

[MOC] Back to the Future Toyota
JJ2 replied to paave's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Nice leaf spring design, it works a lot better then I thought it would. The steering is a little weird though, it's very fast and I think a gear train before the steering arm would work better but it will not have return to center thought. -
Looks very good for a C-Model, nice idea to use all the parts from the A-Model, every time I build a C-model I always put the spare parts aside then manage to use them so I can't build the A-Model again without searching for the original parts. I bet this sill solve the problem

Automated forklift with 2 stage mast
JJ2 replied to IceAxe's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Nice creation, reminds me of some the the RCX builds because of the yellow coloring and the wheels. The sound affects were a nice finishing touch. Ps. you can imbed your video by copy pasting the link on your post like this... -
[MOC] Mercedes-Benz G 4x4
JJ2 replied to stricekfido's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Nice body MOD, looks a lot better then the original. How much does the body raise the center of gravity? Here you go https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-4886/JJ2/4x4-super-crawler-v2/ -
Looks good but it feels like something is missing, I can't place if but maybe it would look better with a 5x11 panel on the hood, or the fenders are too open, how would it look if you put some flex axles over the wheels or some red tubing to act like fenders. Also how do you change the topic title? do you have a MOD do it or do you do it yourself?

That happens to me also, I just use the middle button on my mouse to open new pages, or hit left-control and left click to open a new page. -
General Part Discussion
JJ2 replied to Polo-Freak's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
On this picture The one on the right has a stiffer spring and I got two of them from THIS SET, I use them when the regular ones are not stiff enough. I am pretty sure the one on the far left is from the old technic studded sets and are softer. I do not know about any other ones.- 5,507 replies

A battle sounds fun, although I have a feeling we will not be seeing Lego BattleBots thought I plan to compete in this competition, I have missed out on the last few.
