LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Murdoch17 replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Not a chance - The F1 stuff is being pushed heavily next year. Why would they cancel it, just to piss off all the partners that had to sign contracts with to get it going? -
First off, If I remember my 5th grade history class right: The War of 1812 started because King George III was pressing American sailors into service on his ships for several years beforehand and we retaliated by invading Canada, among other things. (I think he refused to believe he had lost the previous war that had ended in the mid-1780s, and that the Americans were no longer his subjects!) Yes, the British did burn Washington, but were driven out of the city by a full-blown hurricane. Also, the famous battle of New Orleans was actually won 6 months after peace was declared, as the Treaty of Ghent hadn't yet reached North America. (Oops!) You can view a humorous LEGO stop motion of that battle based on the Battle of New Orleans song by Johnny Horton here on Youtube.

Fantastic work! It's always nice to see another Whovian on EB. -
LEGO City 2025 SETS - Leaks, rumours, discussion. (Animals too)

Two space themes wouldn't work - they would both fail as they would cannibalize each others sales. -
No surprise there! I did report him - several times in fact, stretching back quite a while (to around when he first showed up and made us suspect him). I even admitted as much as few days ago when we discussed it maybe two pages ago. But we will never know if that's what caused it, or him tripping himself up (again) with the mods. I think my reports were just links in the chain, tbh. I mean, I love this thread, but turtle is / was annoying and gave me migraines reading his posts - I eventually stopped reading the posts by him because of this! Also, my lawyer is @Agent Kallus, if you have a problem with anything I've done, meet with my attorney.

I prefer to think of this thread as the Boom Town from Indiana Jones Crystal Skull prior to it's destruction. As soon as the DC thread gets replaced, the bomb drops - and no lead-lined fridge is going to save us from the reality of the death of the Asylum. You can't possibly run from it, you certainly can't fight it, you can only pray the thread dies quickly and painlessly in the initial blast. Everyone will mourn it's passing for a time, or maybe even celebrate it's demise, but one thing is for sure: this thread has earned it's place in EB history. And who knows? Maybe next year's thread will be even crazier. (Is that even possible?) We'll just have to wait and see what the future holds - it certainly looks bright!

I thought it was out starting in November? I guess I'm just ahead of myself if you're right!

Yes, you are correct - Brickset reports Dec 31st as the retire date, but it's basically remaining stock at this point. Get it while you can!

Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
Murdoch17 replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
It's because they want the film to be able to be shown / popular in China, as the Chinese Govt. apparently have a problem with African American leads in films. As another example, The Force Awakens poster had Finn airbrushed out in China too. It is indeed disgusting what's going on there with the erasure, but we are going very far off topic... -
LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Murdoch17 replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Literally every post (all three of them) you've ever made has been about that character. Why him? What is special about him? Why have you singled him out for this attention? I'm genuinely curious @itsfaytrid as to your reasons. -
What is your favorite Space set? (One only!)
Murdoch17 replied to SpacePolice89's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
'The Day the Squidman Died' sounds like it should be a parody of the song 'American Pie' by Don McLean. -
...and every time you make one of these, the rarity and prices of the original just got higher. Pretty soon, anyone sitting on a pile of these will be sitting on a gold mine! (thought it might a bit uncomfortable to sit on Lego in the first place! )

Lawsuit TLG against Dutch Retailer Wibra
Murdoch17 replied to JopieK's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I don't think LEGO had put out a set from this video game based on this MOC for public consumption. There is a difference between the competition and LEGO. -
Lawsuit TLG against Dutch Retailer Wibra
Murdoch17 replied to JopieK's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Every company wants a monopoly, as it's part of being a business - they're making stuff (toys, cars, refrigerators, whatever) in a way to make the most money possible, as that's what they're in business for. Saying nobody does that but LEGO would be borderline delusional. I've noticed you disparaging TLG across multiple threads, while praising the competition. You would be singing a different tune about the competition LEGO is facing if your MOC's were stolen or reverse engineered by these other brands. I've had that happen, and these companies are scum of the Earth. LEGO doesn't do that, and before you say "But ideas steals them all the time!", no they really don't, no matter what people say. Ex: When the Marvel X-Mansion came out, some people were saying it was a rip off of the ideas project that was rejected in 2014. No, it wasn't. The concept is the same, but the execution is totally different. They look absolutely nothing alike beyond being mansions for the X-Men to live in. ..sorry for the sort-of off topic rant.
