    Yes that's true, but those themes didn't have anything on shelves at the time the ideas sets would compete with. With the new Blacktron Renegade, LEGO will deny any project that interferes with their own ideas. (I.E. another Blacktron set, but from Ideas) They don't want the sales to cannibalize each other.

    Nice work, though I do wonder how strong that joint between cockpit and back end would be. I also think the entire thing would be incredibly front-heavy. (But I could be wrong!)

    Nice work, and I will echo what @Feuer Zug said above: Classic 12v look with a modern engine 'under the hood' makes for a amazing loco!

    I just realized the coloration of the loco reminds me a lot of the Chicago, Rock Island, & Pacific* diesel paint scheme, specifically this one. Was this railroad or it's paint schemes an influence on you @damangos? * AKA 'the Rock Island Line' or, as it was known at the end, 'The Rock' (and no, I don't mean Dwayne 'the Rock' Johnson! )

    I just received my Nov. 28th order today. If you're order is really late, and you haven't contacted LEGO, do it. You never know until you try!

    Agreed with @Toxic43's assessment of the model. I also voted for it and I sincerely hope it makes it this time! (Though I can't afford BDP sets, so even if it does make it I sadly won't be buying.)

    @danthCreator 3-in1 sets 31107 - Space Rover Explorer (from 2020), 31115 - Space Mining Mech (2021), 31111 - Cyber Drone (2021), and 31152 - Space Astronaut (2024, has a Vic Viper B-model) must all be fever dreams then. I honestly wish I had delusions like these more often! Also, 18+ is just a marketing thing. LEGO has explicitly said this several times.

    From what I remember reading back in the day, the original SW 1999 contract was supposed to end in 2007 or 2008, and it was renegotiated and extended for another ten years or so. (This was also redone when Disney bought out Lucasfilm) So SPIII and after exists because of that renegotiated contract.

    New engine alert! This loco (No. 5) is a 4-6-0 wood-burning steam loco. The 'look' of the engine was inspired by the Baltimore and Ohio loco 'Thatcher Perkins' from 1863, but with a different, more colorful paint scheme. The rear of the loco, which does not have a train assigned to it... yet.

    Well, technically the mid-point of February is today and it's not back, so there's another deadline missed... I guess it will be back when it gets back.

    My Nov. 28th order finally shipped today... now it just has to get to me! (I hope it is all there as well... I won't be happy if I get shorted again!)

    Thanks @The Reader for you kind words! What did you think of the minifigure? I found him in my bins, and thought it looked a bit like your sigfig avatar - except maybe a bit older (as I didn't have the right head) - so I threw I in the pictures just for the heck of it. I also can't wait to see what you do with more mudguards!
