Unless it's a two-foot gauge railroad you're modeling, that's going to look really funny. I'm no good at math (I'm a firm believer in the school of 'looks cool' rather than scale modeling) but it seems we're talking trains quite a bit bigger than the UCS Hogwarts Express in every dimension. Trains are being built in 10 wide for minifigures as MOCs, so you're gonna want something like 16 wide or more, I think.

DC Superheroes 2025 - Rumors & Discussion
Murdoch17 replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
It could ALWAYS be worse! We had five 'sets' in 2011, all SDCC / NYCC figures with two being duplicates of Batman and Green Lantern. At least the theme is still breathing.... -
I think you underestimate the large amount of adults who like Bluey. The house has reached 10,000 votes on ideas three times. Twice it was rejected, with one still in review. They reached 10,000 VERY rapidly each time... it's been up for review for each of the last three years. I just hope it makes it, and doesn't just be relegate to Duplo, like Thomas and Friends (my personal wish for system sets) was...
-
Wait..... is Bluey Duplo or system? I have a sister who would love to add Bluey to her Animal Crossing village, and who would throw so much money at LEGO if it were system it would be obscene.

[MOC] SEGA arcade cube - a New Hashima build
Murdoch17 replied to the Inventor's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I thought Nintendo made the GameCube, not SEGA? But seriously, this is a fantastic MOC! -
Thanks @biggest_jr! I wasn't born yet when Blacktron 1 or CS were originally released, and was too young for all space sets until the Star Wars Millennium Falcon came out in 2000 as my first space set at 6 years old. Benny's SPACESHIP from 2014 made me really appreciate older space themes, which is what I'm sure the new Renegade will do for younger folks. (at least I hope so!) As for your question, no scenery or landscaping is planned at this time beyond the base's crater plates. Side note: You can see my CS models here if you are interested... be sure to read all my updates, as the first post is out of date! (I REALLY need to go back and update that...)

Have you tried Knights Kingdom click-joints? Try looking under the Technic brick category on Bricklink... also, I think this MOC looks awesome. I can't wait to see it finished!

I don't think so. The thread had been dead for over a decade @SpacePolice89 when @Renny The Spaceman brought it back. Maybe @Jim can enlighten us if there is a difference in the rules on threads? (I don't think there is, but...)

Happy holidays everyone, I bring news! With the addition of 10355 (Blacktron Renegade) to the Lego portfolio for January 2025, I've decided to replace the recolored Star Wars transport ship with the new Renegade. (It's a good thing I never finished it!) I've made a cargo pod based off the one posted by Huw on Brickset in an article about possible improvements to the set. These two MOC's are going to be finished in early January when the space base's few remaining parts are ordered. I also combined a free Renegade / Cruiser adapter MOC I found on Rebrickable with the cockpit from the Blacktron Cruiser GWP. This will go on my copy of the Renegade I'll hopefully be buying next week, replacing the newer set's cockpit. As you can see, there are a bunch of parts missing... this will be rectified when it's built in real life. (The Blacktron MOC on Rebrickable I modified is by user Brickstertwo and can be found here.) NOTE: The adapter MOC by Brickstertwo only covers the rearmost four studs of what you see in my pic. The rest is from the GWP (except for the logo!), in case you're wondering. All told, I have 131 parts left to buy for the base, pod, antenna, and some recolors for 10355 to make it match my other ships. (such as trans-light blue engine exhaust, and light bluish gray rocket nozzles instead of yellow) The Cruiser MOD has already been ordered as of the 22nd.

It's considered a bad thing on EB to bump threads older than a year (+/-) unless you really have something valid (I.E. really important and pertinent to the conversation) to say. Threads this old are usually not bumped for any reason. Just so you know, @Renny The Spaceman.

Welcome to Eurobricks! That's a very cool mech you've got there!

LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Murdoch17 replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Ok, so I managed to reverse engineer the cargo pod @Huw Millington designed and shared in this Brickset article, with a few embellishments in places. (nothing of which that impacts the dropping function from the set) This model is heavily inspired by two pictures of Brickset owner Huw's MOD of set 10355, (Blacktron Renegade) this cargo pod MOC features an opening lid with plenty of room inside for ill-gotten goods. NOTE: The MOC is missing four parts, 4x of 41682 in black used on the lid in spots that should be pretty obvious. The rear of the cargo pod. With the lid open. A free LDD file of this model can be found at my Bricksafe page, for those interested. -

Whoops! Misread your post and thought that 10355 was what was being discussed. Apologies. -

@Huw Millington on Brickset has already built a cargo pod, just so you know. Sadly, these are the only two pictures, and there is no parts file or instructions for it @Classic_Spaceman! -
LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Murdoch17 replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Well, that was fast! An adapter module MOC for the Cruiser GWP (50480) to be compatible with the new Renegade (10355) has emerged on Rebrickable by user Brickstertwo as of today, December 22nd. I built a copy on LDD and ordered it (along with the cockpit for the Cruiser) from Bricklink as of ten minutes ago, and plan on using it with my Renegade copy once I get it next week / whenever the BL parts show up. I would post pictures of my digital version of this MOD of this MOC, but so many parts are missing in LDD it's just not worth it. -
Brickshelf is shutting down. Let's try to save it.
Murdoch17 replied to Trekkie99's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Not likely @Baldios. It seems to be on borrowed time to be honest, and Brickshelf will an even greater loss than MOCpages (R.I.P.) when it goes. Over twenty years worth of AFOL history is on that site. -
[Alt-Build Contest] 10290 Pickup Truck - Tow Mater alt build
Murdoch17 replied to Danny_Boy4's topic in LEGO Licensed
"My name's Mater. Like Tamater, but without the Ta." This is a perfect model, there is nothing you could do to improve it. Good luck in the contest! -
@SNIPE Tiles with groove have been around since 1972, so it's not a new thing. Tiles without groove are nigh on impossible to remove, and brick separators will be useless with them. Just because you think something is a good idea, doesn't mean it is... LEGO geometry works the way it does for good reasons. Making something slightly out of geometry throws EVERYTHING else off.

Thanks @TeddytheSpoon! It's 109 parts, not counting Marvin or his flag. I have an LDD file of the vessel by itself if you want it.- 7 replies

Marvin the Martian's classic flying saucer - real world MOC
Murdoch17 replied to Murdoch17's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Thanks @icm! I felt I needed to use those UFO parts to make this UFO... its just makes sense. Thank you, and agreed @Renny The Spaceman! Thanks! That's actually the official LEGO Marvin the Martian figure from the Looney Tunes CMF from 2021. As for the ray gun, there was no room for it, as was the case with the flag @GeoBrick. Thank you @danth! It was a sudden stroke of inspiration that led to those design features.- 7 replies

Here we see a typical flying saucer of Martian origin, landed on the surface of some place called Roswell, New Mexico. It seems the ship's pilot, Marvin, has something to say to us: "I claim this planet in the name of Mars! Isn't that lovely?" The rear of the UFO... but since I've identified it as Martian flying saucer, doesn't that make it an IFO? (Identified Flying Object) The vessel stands Marvin at the controls quite comfortably, with sadly no room to spare for the Martian flag. Looks like you're going to have to leave it behind, Marvin! The underside of the vessel, with the landing struts and some sort of engine nozzles visible. Thoughts, comments, questions, and so on appreciated!

For those who might not be aware, we have a spoiler feature on EB under the eye on the task bar when you make a post. It looks like this example: Please use it this nifty feature, as the rest of us would REALLY appreciate it!
