  1. Well done on finally getting the parts needed to build this monster. I am very excited to see it built in actual life because I much prefer real things to digital models, however well designed and made they may be. I'll definitely be watching the livestream. See you there, Jim
  2. Hello all, For all that are interested I have made a 3D model of the tilting trike in LDD and the file should be attached to this post. There are a few things wrong with it such as the lack of both motors and one 20 tooth tan double bevel gear is missing but apart from that it is all ok. Enjoy, Jim Technic Trike.lxf
  3. I use a se Thanks! I use a servo motor to tilt a turntable that is connected to the rear axle. It was just first time luck that made sure it didn't turn too much and flip over
  4. I think ZBLJ is making one as well. Nothing like a bit of friendly competition!
  5. Thanks! It isn't the best mechanism because the gearing isn't quite right so it turns a bit to far and knocks the motor which means that it skips a few gear teeth, but apart from that I like it as well!
  6. I'm awful at aesthetics but might give it a go.
  7. Hello all, This MOC has been in the building works for quite a long time but I am pleased with the result. First things first, this model was inspired by vmln8r's The Carver, one of only three other Lego tilting trikes I could find on YouTube. However, my model is bigger than his and faster, it has a bigger wheel diameter but same motor and theoretical RPM. The model itself is propelled by a L motor geared 1:1 and tilting is done by one PF servo motor geared 11.669:1 turning a turntable connected to the rear axle. The steering is done with the same motor which pushes and pulls a set of rods which aren't quite as long as each other which means that the front wheel is straight even though the servo is slightly offset. Enough talking, here are some pictures taken on a Coolphix L18: The pictures taken on my GoPro Hero 1 And finally, the video: Thanks for reading and please leave any feedback in the comments below, Jim.
  8. Wow! Cool picture, what do you use for your background, it looks like some sort of carpet perhaps?
  9. How tight is the lock, it looks quite big from this pictures/render thing?
  10. It looks like some sort of american pickup just with bigger wheels and a bit more truck like. Nice MOD
  11. It also looks like there is the LEGO logo printed in the power plug connector suds on the old one but not the new one
  12. Cool loading mechanism! I like the simplicity but effectiveness of the trailer.
  13. Thanky uo all. I have bought some eneloop batteries and have just gone and tried them out. They work fine, but after a short while the model stopped working. It was driving fine then it started jerking forwards and backwards and cutting off. If I lift it off the ground it does the same thing just less violently. I think it is because I have got a bad connection between the controller and model but the 9V battery in the controller was at 8.3 volts, more than enough voltage. So, I don't know what the problem is. I don't think the model is built badly - it is a direct drive from two rc motors on low output put through a differential at the front and back with 68.8 x 36ZR wheels.
  14. I don't know if the RC system would accept those batteries. I thought about getting some 1.6v Ni-Zn to use but I didn't know whether they would work. I think Sheepo did a PF tips and curiosities video which said that.
  15. What are the batteries called that you use and where did you get them from?
  16. Is that the MaH rating - the higher the MaH, the quicker the motors
  17. Hello all, I am currently filming a fast car moc which uses two RC motors and a RC unit. It is quite quick but I don't think that it is running at its full power and speed. For instance, with fresh rechargeable 1.2V NiMH batteries (when fully charged they are 1.4V) it can only run downhill. The batteries are quite good high quality ones with 4 of them 2000Ma/H and two 2500Ma/H but they can't seem to power it well. I've heard that most people use Panasonic Eneloop Pro batteries but they are quite expensive. There are the standard eneloop batteries as well which are cheaper but probably not as good. What I don't understand is what is so good about the eneloop pro batteries. Do any of you know what makes them so good and is it worth buying some to use. Thanks, Jim
  18. Wow . This MOC is amazing. It is huge and very detailed an functional. I also think that you're owed a Pro tag by Jim; in your Feller-Buncher topic he said the following: I think that this is even better than that MOC so you definitely deserve this as well as a place in the HoF
  19. I don't know abpout any ISO settings on the camera because it is 8 years old and is really cheap and basic. I think you might be right about the graininess though; The original pictures look like this: How do I change the white balance - should I do it on the camera or shall I do it in the editing stage afterwards I don't know what the CRI of my current bulb is, but I'll bear that in mind.
  20. Sariel made one in his F1 car from May last year. The link is here http://sariel.pl/2015/05/f1-car/#more-3379 and the video here: At roughly 1:56 there is a render of the gearbox
  21. Is this for your all round fastest car tutorials?
