  1. I used these bionicle joints once - i've built tripod for camera with few "tentacles", that can easily hold my mirrorless camera at any angle in any position. But it's not about technic) And i found that using bionicle joint like this just can't slip out like regular ball joints, and have almost no friction at all. Usable for long travel baja truck rear suspension or something like this. Never used it myself in completed moc)
  2. 1. I always building from bricks while im prototyping. And while polishing - i prefer bricks too. But sometimes, when i got idea and don't have time or possibilty to get my bricks - i using LDD for quick sketching. Just to memorize my idea better. Never used all that LXF files that i saved)))
  3. Nice source of these black panels. Just found that they are not so common, while trying to build all these modern sets from parts that i already have.
  4. Man... How do you... This is just impossible! Looks exactly like LaFerrari.
  5. Nice small truck) I really love all that small lego things) This part is modern counterpart. It may be braced between half-beams, but beams need to be secured.
  6. Just unbelievable. So cute, so functional and so precise. And great video montage, makes me smile)
  7. I used same panels in almost same configuration for same puprose about month ago) Impressive frame, i like how it looks.
  8. Looks like Porsche will be as heavy as 42009. I hope for rechargeable battery... or i just do not understand that price.
  9. With enough of these quarter circles real motorized tunnel boring machine is possible)
  10. I vote for tan) But from what available i prefer yellow, or black. yellow is slightly better imho.
  11. Second "night shot" is beautiful. I felt a smell of water just for a second, while i'm far away from any water right now.
  12. It's just quick sketch of an idea. I've tested something yesterday, and it's more complicated, than it looks at pictures. Zblj's first idea still working better in any cases)
  13. Same concept, but without parts slack. Sad, but it's whole long day at the work, so i can't just build and test it right now. edit: By the way, turntable works incredibly fine. Builded, tested, enjoyed)
  14. GoldVillage - new parts exist in LDD, but they not sorted into categories. So thay accesible only in extended mode, where by default all is red. It's ok, you can change default color - below parts palette middle button used for that. And after you put parts into the scene - you can recolor it with paint bucket tool. Sorry for offtopic.
  15. I vote for purple one... Just because i said "maybe it will be purple" long time ago, while nothing was revelead, only rumors.
  16. Zblj, thanks for your crazy models) It's all so powerful and massive. And this thing can skid steer after all, it's just mad)
  17. Thank's a lot for instructions, Madoca. After seeing it i undestand that i need all this hi-end stuff like sbrick and rechargeable batteries. Immediately)
  18. With this part is possible to make driven and suspended axle.
  19. Nice implementation) Real ones have additional longtitudal links. Zblj, did you thinked about using bionicle ball joints for that type of suspension? Without differential and drive it can be simple and robust... I'm already want to tinker something myself)
  20. Thanks for answers) nicjasno, i've seen your Episode 9, about MacPherson, and learned something new. In fact, idea of this MOC come to my mind after viewing your video. Keeping steering links same length with wishbones is nice idea, but i just don't even think of making longer wishbones, while building) And using 6L sterring links with 13L steering rack isn't working nice with my case - steering racks just wobbling too much, secured only by 12T gear. But 6L wishbone + 9L steering links here is working smooth here. Anyway, for next MOCs i'll just remember that i can make longer wishbones. Pairs of steering links here because my solution is slightly different from yours. Shock absorber isn't secured from both sides. So second steering link keep wheels vertical, preventing positive camber.
  21. 42038 have more track sprockets than 42042. Plus some useful suspension parts. But not as fun to build imho.
  22. JGW3000, i was inspired by old racing cars, so it's only one chair - for a racer) tibivi, i'll make more detailed chassies shots, when this model will be disassembled... in about 2 weeks) but i have underbelly shot (clickable for higher res), and will make few more "technical" shots tomorrow.
  23. I finally managed to make something new, that i really want to share) Bright Green Champion I bought two 42036 sets some time ago for this model. And i spent many time and make countless improvements and rebuildings from scratch before i achieved desired look and functionality. Model driven by two L-Motors connected to rear wheels without any gearing. Motors act like axle itself. I wanted to make MacPherson suspension for front wheels and i want to use wheel hubs, it's crucial with these wheels. After many attempts i decided to cheat a little and use another pair of steering links. Here's two steering racks moving in opposite directions. This solution compensate not rigid absorber to wheel hub connection. Sad, but no ackerman geometry. Model weights about 1,5 kg. It's too much for these shock absorbers, and i haven't yellow hard ones. When model just standing - rear absorbers compressed by 50%, and it's not far from reality, but front ones compressed too much, about 75%. But it's still nice soft suspension. I think it's enough travel for racing) By the way, model isn't fast. Faster then 42030, fun to drive... without bodywork it's was a real monster, i miss him a little) But now it's more for displaying at kitchen, than driving. 24. I think, that 347 degrees it's just because it's not unlimited. Just limited somehow to not twist cable from battery to motor. And steering it's just steering. Genius, but just steering)
