YAY! I can build a bigger Grand Emporium. Or at least one which has more levels of shopping. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Agent 86 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I would be singing "Everything is AWESOME" in the street if Lego decided to re-release Café Corner, Market Street and Green Grocer. I would be more than happy if they: - substituted parts where necessary (or simply to differentiate from the original releases) - substituted colours where necessary (or simply to differentiate from the original releases) - substituted the minifigures - included new details, such as interiors I would also be happy if they simply provided an easy "pick a brick" solution. Once again, I'm be happy with alternate colours, minifigures, substituted parts, etc. As for the new Modular, if the Amusement Hall/Arcade rumour has been debunked and, if it is a corner building, then I'm hoping for a bank. Or a medical clinic. Or an apartment building. Or, if it isn't a corner, then a museum, library, courthouse, police station, school/university or any one of a multitude of other buildings! -
As I only recently emerged from the Dark Ages, I'm very happy about this news. Not only does it drastically increase my interest in the Winter Village theme, which I had previously ignored because the retired sets were unavailable, but because it *may* indicate a greater willingness by Lego to re-release other retired, but heaily in-demand, Lego sets (particularly the first three Modulars and some of the UCS Star Wars ships/vehicles).

Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 1 Discussion
Agent 86 replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
I hope that this Disney CMF series, if it even eventuates, is minifigures and not minidolls. The "Forest Maiden" CMF clearly indicates that Disney Princesses (i.e. Merida from Brave) can be easily and authentically translated into minifigure form. As for wishlists, well mine would include: Uncle Scrooge, Launchpad, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy, Pluto, Aladdin, Ariel, Belle, Mulan, Mr Incredible, Mrs Incredible, Ursula, Maleficent and basically everyone else!- 4,155 replies

I like it. I'm not sure about the holding cell being accessible by the public.I'd consider turning that into an interview room and maybe having a separate floor with two holding cells? The forensic lab is my favourite aspect. Really nice details.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Agent 86 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Lots of interesting new discussions topics! @ Off the wall - I'd also like to see pictures of your nine MOC residential Modular buildings. I agree that the Pet Shop seems to provide a great basis for a variety of small stores (e.g. bakery, butcher, fashion store, flower shop, etc) and the Townhouse also seems to provide a great basis for terrace houses. @ The Executive - I agree. The cookies were obviously laced with something and Ace Brickman had obviously been eating those cookies if he couldn't crack the case since they were baking, transporting and selling the cookies in the very same building as his office! And they were baking the cookies in a kitchen which didn't even have a door separating it from the "common" areas of that building. @ Rob1321 - I'd also be open to seeing a school building. I've seen some pictures of a Modularised Lego Friends Heartlake High School and it shows that there is definitely potential in the idea. Also, all of those child minifigures from the previous Modular buildings shouldn't just be running wild on the streets! @ TheLegoDr - It's interesting to me that there is/was negativity about the Town Hall and Palace Cinema, especially given the price of the Town Hall on the secondary market. While neither is my favourite, I quite like both of the buildings. @ Off the wall - What are the purchased alternate build or new build Modular plans like from Ebay? I looked at downloading some (free) plans for Modular builds and they all seemed to be around 300 pages long and each page would have a single image. They didn't look anything like Lego's instruction manuals. Are the plans on Ebay more like Lego's instruction manuals? -
@ amazingbricks - It certainly seems like it. I wish the Friends line didn't include a different style of minifigure and that it utilised more common building colours (while still retaining some of the pastel colours for variety) so that it could seamlessly fit with Lego City sets. They've released some great sets in the Friends like with a variety of small shops, houses, supermarket, school and a hotel!

Very impressive. It's a shame that the Lego City Fire (and Police) Station sets aren't a little closer to this kind of design.

Pet Shop 10218: door decoration piece different from box
Agent 86 replied to ogelivation's topic in LEGO Town
Hmmmmm. I wondering whether this could be a good thing for me if I can also then use the new skis when Bricklinking a Cafe Corner. No point having fancy (and expensive) scroll work on the Cafe Corner if it's missing from the townhouse! -
That's your first attempt? Please ignore me as I push my jumble of intended Modular bricks to one side. That is awesome. I'm very impressed!

Argh! You just made me realise that I have the substitute parts/skis as well. I'm also in Australia and I also purchased my Pet Shop recently (around June). -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Agent 86 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I would happily buy some "mini" or "starter" Modular sets to help to expand my Modular street. The newsagent/newsstand alternative build for the Toy and Grocery Store Creator set strikes me as a good starting point for a smaller building. I would also buy the aforementioned park, playground with swings and slide, a street market with assorted stalls, an Asian themed food market, a flower stand, a small coffee stand (i.e. a more detailed build of the coffee stand in the City Square) and even something plain like an alleyway with some dumpsters, etc. As I'm sure I've previously mentioned in this thread, I would also love to see some half-sized Modulars, basically buildings like the townhouse from "Pet Shop" or the pet shop from "Pet Shop" sold by themselves. It would be great to have a street (or partial street) of terrace houses or to add some smaller shops/businesses. The residential buildings in the Creator line appear to be shrinking, so it could be a way to still release sizeable residential buildings which have a broader appeal. If they included interior details similar to the Friends houses, then they could potentially have an even broader appeal. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Agent 86 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
IF the next Modular is an Arcade, what does everyone expect to see in the upper levels? Based on my small collection of Modulars, it seems as though apartments are common, but the Detective's Office may indicate that the upper levels will, going forward, potentially include small officers (e.g. dentist, lawyer, accountant, psychiatrist, etc). As for the campness or target audience of the Modulars, I have no idea. Since Jamie has designed the majority of the Modulars, I don't see how the camp qualities would have varied except under the direction or influence of Lego. And I also didn't detect any major noticeable differences between the Palace Cinema and Town Hall and the other Modulars. Although, again, my collection is only small and doesn't include the earlier releases. As others have noted, the focus on "story" would appear to be more of a Lego directive to broaden the appeal of the Modulars as opposed to a designer choice. However, the focus on interior details would appear to be a designer choice and is obviously something that has been met with mixed reactions. -
The TransLink bus is awesome! Have you built Brisbane trains as well? Or a CityCat?

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

This one (?): http://lego-dimensions.wikia.com/wiki/Arcade_Gamer I guess anything is possible. I haven't been an AFOL long enough to know whether Lego drop "teasers" for their Modular series in other sets. But, this seems to be more about ensuring Midway Arcade has a presence in Lego Dimensions to me. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 15 Rumors and Discussion
Agent 86 replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I'd also like some more City-themed characters this time around. I realise that they're not the most ... interesting, but it's great to be able to populate the streets with some quirky, but reasonably "normal" looking minifigures. -

Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion
Agent 86 replied to Quicksilver's topic in LEGO Licensed
It strikes me as a little odd too N_Cat. Other than potentially unlocking additional "Adventure Worlds" (which is irrelevant for the DC Comics since Batman is in the Starter Pack), there would be no real incentive to buy some of the "fun packs" if they were available without the Lego Dimensions element in much cheaper "Racer Packs". Obviously since Marvel isn't part of Lego Dimensions it's a little different for them, but it would be an odd approach for DC Comics, unless the products are meant to be complimentary and won't overlap (i.e. the Race Packs won't include Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg or Bane). -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Agent 86 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
So ... we're back to the Arcade/Amusement Hall as being the strongest rumour for the next Modular. Now that there are a few Amazon listings, does anyone have an estimated timeframe for photo reveals? -
Based on the Euro price points, can anyone tell if the Deli is going to be similarly sized to the larger Bike Shop and Café or the (much) smaller Grocery and Toy Store? It appears to be 10 Euros more expensive than the Lakeside Cabin, which I'm guessing will be Beach Hut sized as opposed to a larger residential home like many of the retired sets.

Disney Princess 2016 Rumors and Discussion

Where is my Ultimate Collector Series version of Sleeping Beauty's Castle?!? I wish Lego would consider releasing at least one "deluxe" style set in the Disney Princess line for AFOLs who are also Disney fans. -

Awesome. Especially the dentist. That is something I would like to see in an official Modular. The apartment is also nice. I like the bank, but the vault seems disproportionately large when compared to the single ATM and bank manager's desk. Is there a bank teller counter?

I'd buy it! I think it looks good.
