Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Agent 86 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
YES! But, maybe in blue and with different mini figures so that it can still be distinguished from the original. And then the year after they can reissue Café Corner and the year after that they can reissue Market Street, again both in different colours and with different mini figures. Maybe they could even complete the interiors of the reissued models? And then basically just continue reissuing all of the retired Modulars on a yearly basis so that I (and other late comers) can also obtain the Fire Brigade, Grand Emporium and Town Hall! -

Apparently the Target sale commences online at midnight! Although, I'm having trouble finding some of the Lego sets on their website, particularly Changing Seasons. -
So no hospital. Oh well, maybe in 2017! If the new Fire Station is an impressive as it should be for the price, then maybe there will be a similarly "deluxe" hospital in 2017? I wouldn't mind a garage to try and modify to add to my small Modular street.

I'm pretty sure it was Lego Space Lab (6972 Polaris-I Space Lab). I remember my grandfather helping me to build it at the dining room table.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I can't see to get "quotes" to work, but I agree with BirdOPrey5 and Mutant Orc. I thought that it was just me who was having trouble accessing the lower floors of the Detective's Office, especially the barber. Every time I try to re-arrange the mini figures in the barber, I end up breaking something. And I also didn't understand the "story". The kitchen was open to the public for anyone to use! I just ignore the story and pretend that the toilet and kitchen are part of the detective's lease and that he lives in his office because he's a terrible detective who secretly wants to pursue his passion for baking. Personally, I was hoping for a police station, bank, library, museum, medical centre, pharmacy or townhouses/apartments, but I'm open to the idea of an arcade. It will make my Modular street feel more like Beach City (from Steven Universe). -
Please keep us updated with your progress seagambit. I would also like to Bricklink the Town Hall (and all of the other retired Modulars) and I'm not particularly fussed about the colours or the mini figures either (e.g. I'd be happy with a brown or red or cream or whatever other colour Town Hall). But, I have no idea where to start. I spent a while looking at Bricklink and just got overwhelmed!

I'd be okay with that! Although, I don't really understand the need for a "story" for the Modulars which (to my understanding) are clearly aimed at adult fans. -

I'm surprised that there hasn't been a Modular Police Station, unless we're about to get a corner police station? Fire, Police and, to a lesser extent, Hospital all seem to be enduring themes for Lego. As I don't have the Fire Brigade, I hope to be able to eventually at least add a police station. -

Hmmmmm. I'm not overly keen on the idea of a flower shop and greenhouse, but it would ultimately depend upon the design. And I'm guessing that there would need to be more to it than simply a flower shop, especially if it is a corner building. Maybe multiple studio apartments above. Or some other service providers like a dentist, lawyer, accountant, psychologist, etc. -

Gosh darn it. I just realised that now I'll have to try and hunt down a Merida from Brave (aka Forest Maiden) mini figure!- 4,155 replies

Wow. Disney mini figures! That would be awesome. And some broader Disney sets, like a Disneyland Castle or some of the Main Street buildings would be even more awesome!- 4,155 replies

I'd definitely like to see a bank. And it has obvious "story" potential (i.e. bank robbery). I'm not so keen on a pharmacy, but since I don't have a grocery/department store, I guess it would be good to have somewhere for my mini figures to get basic food supplies. If it had a small doctor's office or medical centre as well, it would definitely be a welcome addition. -

Re: "Story" for a museum A new exhibit opening would be fine. Or maybe a robbery. Or maybe some hijinks cause by a new artefact that has gone on display. Re: Gen 1 Modulars I'm new to collecting the Modulars, so I only have Generation 2 models. Is there really a significant difference? Is that part of the reason why the older models are so expensive - because AFOLs consider them to be superior to the more recent models? Did the Town Hall constitute the start of Generation 2 because of the story element? -
I'm relatively new to collecting Lego, but for a long time I've admired many of the Creator domestic houses/residential buildings from afar. Now that I've embraced collecting Lego, it appears that the Creator houses are no longer a popular release. Is that correct or is there just currently a lull in releases? Changing Seasons, Beach Hut and Mountain Hut are okay, but I'm really a fan of the designs of the larger houses like the Family House. Will more deluxe/larger houses be released in the future or were they unpopular amongst collectors/customers?

Big W appear to have uploaded it early: http://www.bigw.com.au/bigw-catalogues#view=catalogue2&saleId=9087&page=1&preview=SpecialPreviewTTD2015 I think early access is from 5:00pm on Monday, 22 June 2015. -

If it's a corner, a bank, police station or corner grocery store all seem possible. I'm not sure a museum, hospital, library, courthouse or many other buildings would suit a corner. Then again, I wouldn't have ordinarily thought of a cinema as being a "corner" building. -

I think the relevant pages of the Big W catalogue have been posted to one of the Australian Lego Groups. I don't think it has been officially released by Big W. It is due to be posted online on Saturday. -
Xena: Warrior Princess. The "warrior woman" minifigure was a good start, but I at least need an "Amazon bard" to go with her! Or something which may have some likelihood of actually happening, everything Disney. In particular, I'd like a Disneyland castle with the classic characters (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy and Pluto), but almost anything would be awesome.

Thanks. That's what I thought. Oh well. Maybe I'll get lucky with a second hand/loose version of the Town Hall one day. I don't have any aspirations of owning the other retired sets, but I thought that the Town Hall might be obtainable since it sounds like it was still available in stores at the start of the year. -

I'm new to collecting the Lego Modular Buildings - is there a regular, annual date for the announcement of the next release in the Lego Modular Buildings series? It seems as though the Detective's Office was announced in November 2014. Is that the common announcement date for the Lego Modular Buildings? I'm personally hoping for a bank, hospital/medical centre, police station, museum, library, courthouse or, although unlikely, apartment building. I'd also be interested in two releases per year, although to keep things affordable, maybe the second release needs to be smaller, like one half of the Pet Shop. It would be great to be able to add more townhouses to the series. -

I'm sure it's a (VERY) long shot, but is anyone aware of any retailers (physical or online store) which still have stock of the Lego Modular/Creator - Town Hall (10224) at the RRP or close to it? I'm new to collecting Lego Modular/Creator Buildings (and somewhat new to collecting Lego in general after a 20 odd year break), so thanks in advance for any assistance/recommendations!
