I wish they'd reduced the number / variety of colours in those sets. Would it be so terrible to revert back to the ... classic red, blue, white and yellow bricks?

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion
Agent 86 replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
Wow. The new Batmobile rumours are pretty interesting. I wonder if it could be the Batmobile on the furthest right in the screen grab of the Batcave showing all of the Bat-vehicles. I suspect not, since it didn't appear capable of splitting into three separate vehicles. It's very ... MASK-esque to have splitting / transforming vehicles. -
Wow. That's pretty cool. And that Lumiere and Cogsworth are also amazing!
-
I like the rumours for the Wonder Woman set. It sounds pretty much perfect for Wonder Woman - Diana is battling a giant-sized / godly Ares with Steve Trevor providing assistance in a plane. I'm guessing that the plane won't have a strict resemblance to any WW1 planes since Lego doesn't like making "war" toys (although, perhaps they'll be a bit more lenient in this instance). I would have liked minifigures of Hippolyta and rumoured villains Dr Poison and the Duke of Deception (possibly just Ares in human / mortal form), but that was probably expecting a little too much.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Agent 86 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
In terms of a hospital fitting into the general "time period" of the Modulars, I think a small hospital in the style of an English "cottage hospital" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cottage_hospital) would work really well and would fit in with the other Modulars. Otherwise, a combined pharmacy and doctors office / clinic, would probably fill the need for medical treatment in a Lego City comprised of Modular buildings. -
The Creative Boxes are not what I was hoping for. I was hoping for BIG boxes, like the ones currently available, but with just one "colour" (albeit in multiple shades). And then maybe some separate Creative Boxes for different "themes" (e.g. "Vehicles" with windshields, wheels, doors, seats, etc and "Houses" with doors, windows, flowers, etc). The Townhouse looks a little bigger and better in the images on the back of the box. But, the differently coloured ground level is really odd (as others have noted).
-
I like the Townhouse, but it's so incredibly narrow. One half only appears to be two bricks thick and the other appears to only be four bricks thick. Did the old Creator houses and even sets like the Bike Shop and Café do that badly for Lego? Surely if Lego can see the value in releasing all of the HUGE sets like GB Headquarters, Disney Castle, etc, they could see the value in releasing more "middle ground" sets (i.e. somewhere between these newer Creator buildings and the huge sets)?
-
Awesome! The façade is really interesting and really fitting for a museum. I also like all of the interior details. It's a nice balance between enough detail to evoke a museum without being too cluttered that the details are lost. If it was an official Modular, I'd buy it without any hesitation.
-
I like the Pizza Van (although I'm not sure how good pizza cooked in the back of a van would taste - but that's an issue for my minifigures to worry about). Hopefully, if it does well, we might see more commercial / retail stores like restaurants, etc in the Lego City line.
-
Thank you. So, I would guess Wonder Woman, Steve Trevor and "villain". And given Lego's aversion to accurate war-themed products, it probably won't come with a tank or bi-plane. So, I guess it will be based on some kind of base / building? Unless the "villain" is oversized and brick-built or has some kind of other-worldly brick-built weapon / vehicle / thing (e.g. a mega suit of Hulkbuster-esque armour).

I agree. Do we have any hints about the Wonder Woman set yet? Number of mini figures? Price point? Build (i.e. vehicle, building or other)? I wonder if it will possibly come with two Diana mini figures with one in her Themysciran armour and one in her Wonder Woman armour? Now that the villain/s appear to have been somewhat "revealed" in the latest trailer, surely there are no confidentiality issues. Unless one of the villains changes their appearance / form in the movie for the climax?

Sounds good. I hope the "colour" packs include a good total number of bricks.

I'd buy a re-released Cafe Corner, Market Street and Green Grocer. Especially if the first two were updated with interiors. I'd be happy if they had to use substituted parts (to replace those which are no longer in production) and if they were released in new colours (e.g. the Green Grocer in sand blue as opposed to sand green. But, I don't see it happening.

I know! I wish it was being released instead of the Speedwagon. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Agent 86 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
After three Modulars consisting of two or more buildings/businesses, I hope that the next Modular is single focused (e.g. police station or hospital). A school, library, museum, post office or block of apartments may also be a single building, but I'm not sure how likely they all are. -
Fair enough. I'm sorry you didn't have any luck. I would suggest maybe trying again as I've never had any issues. Basically, they should just grab their iPad, search for stock of the Brick Bank and if they find one they will transfer it to your local store. It's normally quick and easy, so it's unfortunate no one at your local store was willing to help. Other online retailers, like Outer Rim Trading Co, should eventually get in stock. Myer should also get in more stock prior to Christmas (as part of their sales / promotions leading up to Christmas).

Assembly Square has been confirmed to be $400 in Australia. Orders over $200 from Lego online are shipped for free. GB HQ is $500 (unless you find one at Big W for $475). As previously mentioned, go to Myer and ask them to do an iPad order for the Brick Bank.

I thought the same. Well, I thought the café and bakery were on 16 x 32 plates and that the florist and fountain / plaza were each on 8 x 32 plates. I thought it would introduce an expanded "Modular" feature in terms of the display options.

I like it. As others have mentioned, I would have liked the café to be on a separable 16 x 32 plate to allow for different configurations. But, that should be a relatively easy MOD. I'm glad that it doesn't appear to have too many "play / action features" and not too much dedication to a "storyline" (although bakery (sweets) / dentist is an obvious one). There is a LOT involved in the set, but with the larger baseplate, I expect it to look better (i.e. less cluttered) in person than it does in the pictures. IF all future Modulars are going to combine two or more businesses / buildings (like Detective's Office, Brick Bank and Assembly Square), then I hope they consider doing them more like the Pet Shop (and Townhouse) instead of permanently affixing them together to provide more display options.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Agent 86 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Nooooooo! I hope that is proven to be untrue very soon. That said, if it is true, are they likely to announce the conclusion of the Modular line at the same time as supposedly celebrating its 10th anniversary? Surely they would want to focus on the positive and leave any announcement about the cessation of the line until this time next year? -

I'll restrain my excitement about the piece count, especially if Assembly Square does include a large square or other public assembly area which features an abundance of tiles and which could therefore go a long way to inflating the piece count. Further, even though the Brick Bank and Green Grocer have almost the same piece count, I vastly prefer the Green Grocer, so really depends upon how and where all those extra 1,500 or so pieces are used. -
Do you sell the plans for this set? I'll be honest, I would like to buy this Lepin model because I love the Modular line. But, I'd only feel comfortable doing so if the designer was rewarded in some manner for their creative and intellectual effort in designing the Modular in the first place.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Agent 86 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Was anyone able to spot new elements in the newly revealed Arkhan Asylum which might also be used for the 2017 Lego Modular? I hope that the reveal of the three Lego Batman Movie sets doesn't mean an even longer wait until the reveal of the 2017 Lego Modular (although I have no idea if Lego deliberately "stagger" their reveals, especially since the LBM reveals occurred just days after the DC Superhero Girls reveals). -

"Assembly Square"! Very interesting. I'm picturing some kind of open park / pedestrian mall / shopping arcade, but I'm not sure that would display particularly well with other Modulars and I'm also not sure it would warrant what is possibly such a high price (if the price is in Danish Kroners). Anyway, I can't wait to hear and SEE more. -

So, you're concerned about the box? That's why you need to buy it in person? Myer has a generous return policy. If you do an iPad order and, once delivered, you don't like the condition of the box you could return it. I think Lego Australia even do exchanges if the box is damaged, but it might be best to double check their exchange policy before you order. As mentioned, try following the Lego thread at the Whirlpool forums. I purchased the Brick Bank for 30% off at Myer. It's a great thread to follow for information about sales, stock availability, etc. I've never stood in line at mignight - I just buy online or if it's not available, I ask them to do an iPad order and transfer from another store with stock. With something like the Brick Bank, that shouldn't be too difficult for Myer. Good luck!
