  1. I don’t think it’s likely, but possibly the Disney Railway with Lily Belle? And a train station? That might make sense to have various Disney characters onboard?
  2. Very nice! I like the juxtaposition of the three different building styles and colours. It looks very "true to life" in terms of buildings being modernised and repurposed over their lifespan.
  3. That's my ONLY question! Bring back the fully enclosed, nicely detailed and well sized residential and commercial buildings!
  4. Very nice! I wouldn't have guessed you were a "new" builder given the quality of the build. This is the kind of Lego house I wish that Lego would still include in the Creator line. Well, probably not quite this big as it would be too expensive with all of those bricks!
  5. Very nice. I really like the red / blue combination. The tower is a great build. And the red roof looks incredible.
  6. Wayne Manor or Gotham City Police Department would be great picks for D2Cs! I know they won't be "Modular", but I do wish they were dollhouse-esque like Haunted House and Sanctum Sanctorum.
  7. What an awesome set! I’d definitely buy it if it was available in stores. The brick built Santa gives me hopes for larger scale characters like Giganta in the superheroes lines.
  8. Wow. That's really beautifully designed and realised in brick form. Well done!
  9. Just a quick reply to the above posts - my thoughts were just my personal opinion. And it's not one that Lego is going to pay any attention to when designing future Modulars! As for the Brick Bank, it just doesn't hit that "sweet spot" of being grand for me. The run-down Laundromat being part of it doesn't help. But, even ignoring the Laundromat ... something about it just doesn't work for me despite the classic architectural elements and details. Perhaps it's just too squat and too narrow (being a corner building)? The point about mixed used buildings is fair. I should have been clearer - I quite like Café Corner and Green Grocer is easily one of my top two. I guess I differentiate them from something like Detective's Office, Brick Bank, Downtown Diner and even Corner Garage which appear to include a mix of architectural styles (e.g. the Downtown Diner appears to be an older, plain building which was "renovated" to include the more extreme art deco elements, including the arch and diner awning, at a later date). So, a single cohesive building which happens to have mixed uses is my preferred form. Rather than multiple smaller builds (with the exception of Pet Shop, which is another favourite as two distinct, although smaller builds) or trying to evoke the development / renovation of buildings over time. Once again, that's just a personal preference. At the end of the day, I'm going to buy each and every Modular that Lego releases. And, if I had a bigger discretionary budget for Lego, then I'd buy multiples of some of the less favoured Modulars (e.g. Brick Bank) to up-scale them more to my personal liking.
  10. I think most of what I'm hoping for in a Modular is contrary to Lego's current design emphasis for the Modular line. I would like a single-use building (i.e. not a combination of multiple businesses or business / residential). I would like something with an impressive scale, although it doesn't need to be physically bigger than the Town Hall. But, I would like the design to emphasize its impressiveness and grandeur. I would like to see a return to more grand, classical architectural details, that is, a building which is designed to look beautiful and to inspire wonder. I don't mind the Modulars which look like "ordinary" buildings (although the Detective's Office is my least favourite), but after a run of those, I would like some more majestic. A building which would be a point of interest and admiration in a "real" town. There are a multitude of buildings which I would like to see, including: small / cottage hospital, school, library, museum, apartment building, court house, police station, etc.
  11. I love the dragon so much! Such an awesome, evocative and immersive detail in the castle. I'd be happy if Lego went all-in with the "Disney" brand in terms of the theme parks - a complete Main Street with ALL of the buildings in Modular-style (well, perhaps with open-backs since the castle wasn't fully enclosed), railway, assorted rides both big (e.g. Haunted Mansion) and small (e.g. Dumbo's Flying Elephants), a "parade" with various floats, etc. But, I'm not sure how like that is.
  12. I love all of the Wizard of Oz characters in the CMF series! And quite a few of the other minifigures are also appealing. But, Dorothy, Lion, Scarecrow and Tin Man are my most wanted from this series!
  13. Very cool! Excellent design, building techniques and playability!
  14. Would Sleeping Beauty's Castle be as big and therefore expensive as Cinderella's Castle? If they're true to the proportions of the actual castles in the theme parks, then the Disneyland Castle is significantly smaller than the Disney World Castle: https://imgur.com/d9DZbEP Releasing a smaller, more affordable castle could capture the market who are otherwise unable or unwilling to spend $500 (AUD) on a single Lego play set. I fully admit my bias in this respect, as I really want a Lego Sleeping Beauty's Castle!
  15. I hope that it is Sleeping Beauty's Castle from Disneyland! It makes sense to me as a companion set for Cinderella's Castle from Walt Disney World.
  16. Sounds good to me! I'd like to get a more "generic" People Pack again. Beach and Mountain weren't too bad, but they didn't fit a Lego City street very well (which is the only Lego environment that I have - not enough room for a seaside and mountains).
  17. Very nice. It looks deceptively simple, but there is a lot of brick built detail in the façade and roof.
  18. I like it. But, I'm not sure I love it. I'm impressed that the quite old rumour about a "garage and veterinarian" was correct. I didn't think it would be because there was no obvious "story" potential between a garage and a vet (unless a car hit an animal and the car needed repairs and the animal needed surgery). The price seems a little high for quite a small building given how much of the baseplate is taken up with the drive-through for the gas station. I'm not sure if the price per piece count is higher than other Modulars, but it just doesn't *look* to provide the same value for money as others. I look forward to seeing a photo with an actual vehicle in the drive-through. It seems like it will be a bit of a tight squeeze to get a car in there. I find it amusing that we have a garage to repair four vehicles (fire engine, limousine, Cadillac and tow truck) and a veterinarian to care for a handful of animals (most of which are still in the Pet Shop), but we still don't have a medical centre or small hospital for all of the minifigures! I'm not sure about the seemingly completely open stairs. Anyone can just wander all the way up to the roof - through someone's personal apartment! I guess it reduces the piece count and keeps costs lower to remove all of those "walls", but it strange. The colour scheme of the second and third floors also seems repetitive - it reminds me of the Detective's Office, Corner Deli and Town Hall. I was probably counting on it being at least partially the new colour - "sand red" (or whatever it is called). Additional thoughts: I think I'll move the balcony up to the top floor - it makes more sense to be part of the apartment as opposed to the veterinarian. Then, I'll move the printed veterinarian sign to where the balcony currently is. It will be partially obscured, but I don't like how the two signs currently block each other (i.e. the Jo's Garage sign blocks the view of the Dr Jones' sign). And then I'll just mirror the build of the middle window on the top floor when completing the second floor. I *think* that will resolve some of *my* issues with how the Modular looks.
  19. Wow. That is ridiculously beautiful - I want to holiday there!
  20. That’s lovely! I’d be very happy with a Modular Police Station which resembled this real world building.
  21. Cool - thank you! I've now added even more builds to my wish list / to do list. I really like the townhouses. And now I'm wishing that I'd purchased a second Pet Shop when it was readily available - the alternate design is really cool. And I didn't even connect the dots! I look forward to seeing your alternate builds for the Detective's Office, Brick Bank and Diner too. Are you working off your own designs or some alternate instructions which are available online?
  22. Wow. That is HUGE! For once a thread title that doesn't disappoint - it actually undersells the scale of the build. Great work. I look forward to seeing the finished product.
  23. Very nice! I like the hospital, bike shop and ... is it a book store? Or a “books for cats” store because in your Lego City the cats are as intelligent as humans? The row of four townhouses is also beautiful. Are they your own designs?
  24. Very nice! A lot of interesting built details which really add to the façade.
