  1. Mysterious architecture, perfectly befitting that area of the Badlands (the grey zone where Kaliphlin ends and Nocturnus begins, perhaps?). A desolate place, lost to time, for sure. I have to agree, the base is pretty good. You're a good afterthought builder, haha! Effective writing as well, good work!
  2. So many scenes! Some a bit basic, but it's obvious that you poured much effort into the whole thing; the fact that you managed to depict six stages of Artorius's aging in minifig form is really something! And though simple, I like the scene where he is carving a dugout boat, good use of the sharp Nexo knights pieces! Good luck in the contest!
  3. The build is a bit plain, and a bit rough at the edges. Maybe you could have added an extra layer of plates to underneath the round out the square edges of the base? But it's not bad: the colour scheme is alright, fungals biotope are not seen often, and the minifigs are imaginative. Btw, I like the term "travellers on the road", I'll be using that.
  4. I've ranted about the ninja's symbols before, and I'll will do it again. For reference: So we're almost at the 4th generation of ninja insignias. In the past they alternated between the animalistic and the elemental symbols, sometimes using both simultaneously. But then the movie came out, which rebooted the elemental symbols and ditched the animalistic ones. And then the legacy wave used the pre-movie elemental symbols again, which I thought would therefore remain for a while, but apparently not? Time will tell... Anyway, I think the upcoming pseudo-kanji characters much more consistent on the whole: comparable complexity (number of strokes), consistent shapes of strokes, and relatively consistent "visual weight". It's as if they have read my quote above (one can dream...)! On the other hand, now almost every ninja will have their insignia in a different colour, on top of the already very colourful bandanas, but that can be more easily changed in the waves to come. Those shoulder pads seem to have a symbol on them as well, I wonder what that's about.
  5. Great variety, yet good consistency! The giant demon with the armour on is well-done, and I like the burning.. bisons?
  6. @Lord Vladivus Hello, old friend! I'd love to see you in Nocturus again! Feel free to pick a settlement above.
  7. @ballzack Is there any info, like a year indication or article number on that side panel, or elsewhere?
  8. My non-FOL sister (a young adult like me) was very enthusiastic when I showed her the FRIENDS fan submission that got approved. I've been following a bit of the show along with her, and I must say I enjoy it myself, too. I'm convinced FRIENDS has a growing audience of young adults here in the Netherlands, thanks to Netflix. I am excited to see it translated to an official set. Steamboat Willie doesn't do much for me. SpaceX - The Ultimate Collection and the Peugeot 205 Turbo were both really neat designs, but I understandable that they didn't make it. And the Fiat 500 screams to be produced as a set, but then probably in the Creator Expert line, however upsetting that is for the creators of the project. By the way, I'm underwhelmed by the Flintstones set. The fan submission looked a lot more striking, colourful and 'contentful' than the final set.
  9. Yes, great designs indeed! Never imagined we would one day get hair in Spring Yellowish Green (no, does not glow in the dark). My favorite is girl's hairpiece below: It's only the second hairpiece that has a curl of hair running down the forehead (first one was Cole's from TLNM), often ending up between the eyes, which is a very common feature in both male and female anime hairstyles: Spring yellowish green is a bit extreme for hair though, even by anime standards. I'd love tho see the piece in black or brown for example! Same goes for that awesome wavy beard, which would look great in grey or white.
  10. Go to Account > Account Settings > Signature. :)
  11. Advanced search. GoH subforum only; in topic titles only; search query 'city AND index', sort by date, go to last page (shows oldest results).
  12. @BardDandelion Welcome to EB, welcome to GoH! I think you are BardJaskier on Flickr, right? It's great to see you join! I'd say, create a sigfig, introduce yourself in of the guild sign-up threads, and start building. If you have have any questions, just ask!
  13. I'm not the first one to say this, but all those new ghost pieces go together well with the Ninjago Possession wave ghosts. I really, desperately want the wavy beard and messy long hair in brown or black, grey... I'm looking forward to the elves fences in grey!!
  14. I bet you mean either of these, by @Maxim I: https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/63865-historica-city-guide/ https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/85822-the-historica-city-guide-chapter-ii-edition/ Used them for reference as well.
  15. It's as @Aanchir says, they do martial arts and need very little armour; just clothes, a face mask and maybe some spots to hold some weapons. Modern technology is in the clothes that we wear: hardly any restraints in colour and design anymore, cheap to mass-produce, and fitting our bodies seamlessly. And we have pockets. I don't see what purpose that technology could fulfill. You are still talking about what they can wear, right?
  16. Yes, the great variety is a good asset of our guild, but it can become hard to wrap your head around which ethnicities live where, and what architecture is found where. I can't quite put my finger on why including roof colour here is advantageous, but I feel like it helps to get a feel for Nocturnian settlements as a whole. Roof colour is a more defining characteristic in Nocturnus than in the other guilds, I suppose.
  17. It took a few evenings, but I also had fun doing so. I hope it sparks some more love and also some new builds for Nocturnus. Just thinking out loud: maybe other guilds would benefit from such an index?
  18. The boy and the girl come in 2 different outfits across the sets. Reasonable, if you ask me. And you get plenty of different civilians, wouldn't you agree? The expressions could be the same, though.
  19. I like the idea of a breathing apparatus integrated in the mask, granted that it fits the setting of the wave. Bionicle did it too, when they went into the sea (Barakki wave). But, it should still be a ninja mask. Ninja should remain ninja, it's a corner stone of the theme. Ninjago's ninja are the ultimate cool: they have elemental powers; they ride dragons, or motorcycles, or jet fighters, or whatever they like; they live in dojos, or flying ships, or both; and they save the world! Pilots or astronauts are simply less cool then ninja. That's how the formula works and I can confirm this is how it felt when I was still in the target demographic. As an AFOL, my preferences for the theme have changed. I don't collect the ninja suits anymore, I only buy them if I can use them in a medieval fantasy setting, or if they resemble an anime archetype. So that's my preferred direction of the theme.
  20. I haven't had any trouble with my order. Roughly 7 days for processing and another 7 days for shipping.
  21. Well, they take whatever and then put ninjas in it. Thus, one might say all waves and sets are in fact... ninja-punk.
  22. As people mentioned before me, the architecture is both great and a bit rough, with the colours. Some details stand out to me: the running tap, the golden candles, and the small red fences in the entrance portals. The minifigure scene is so complete; it really sells the build! You thought of everything, from musicians to bubble bath blowers (that would never cross my mind!); I like how food and drinks are being served and found around the place, on the floor. Lastly, excellent combo's, expressions and poses on the figures!
  23. I suppose that would be me. This piece from this education set.
  24. I'm not sure why you bring this up now, in this thread, since your version relies partly on 3rd party elements, while the one shared before was 100% official LEGO already. It's not that there's anything wrong with that, but this is kind of the thread for celebrating the continuing expansion of LEGO's own parts inventory for castle/fantasy purposes, and the possibilities emerging from that.
