  1. Not really as a set, but it counts as an official release. There are/have been quite a number of (recolour) pieces exclusive to BAM, hence I think it was brought up here.
  2. Build-a-Minifigure in LEGO brand stores.
  3. Thank you! Good luck with our HSS builds, I plan on making an attempt for my own city as well. I'd be happy to discuss the possibilities for filling the holes, via PM or the Guild thread.
  4. Yes, it's the same one as the golden snake mummy has, but in gunmetal grey! Very useful! I think people have been reading into this more than they should. We have a fire tribe fighting an ice tribe, basically the Chima wave. Things got simplified to make the joke work and give the fans something to chew on. Just my 2 cents. I acually think this is great, because you can more easily diversify your ice zombie army, or whatever custom faction (like the Algus in GoH) that will use this armour. Oh wow, you're most likely right! That's certainly the most cost-effective use of budget, plus they did it with previous wave as well. Great!
  5. From the top of my head, almost every wave featured new moulds that have never been recoloured, or even used, after that. But that applies to many - if not most - themes. Think of Atlantis, Ultra Agents, but also to Dimensions and much loved CMF.
  6. @Digger of Bricks I agree that one-and-done moulds are less than ideal from an R&D perspective and from a MOCers perspective, but that doesn't mean these are bad designs. Some fans get excited by realistic/generic stuff, others by extreme/unique stuff. I can think of plenty of minifig customizers (including myself) who would love to use the chestplate and other parts with ice for OCs (original characters). And others who prefer to leave the figures as they are will simply enjoy them as they are. I do see recolour potential in the samurai helmet: I'd like the translucent part to be gold or flat silver. Reminds me of these, btw: https://legouniverse.fandom.com/wiki/Samurai
  7. @toastergrl That's a fantastic design! I checked out some of your competitors, but your rendition seems to be more sleek and parts-efficient. I'm pretty jealous of your rendering skills (the prints) btw! Could you tell me which software and/or what tutorial you used for that? Best of luck with your project, you're well on your way!
  8. Me, when I saw it: Pure badassery! It's like back when I first saw the Vermillion armours, but better! Simple? The fully armoured one? If that's your notion of simple then I can't begin to imagine what complicated would look like...
  9. Exceptional work all around! Of the interior, I like the upperclass level the best, but on the exterior, the ground and underground level are phenomenal! The architecture and signs are great, but I think the vast amounts of piping, cables, etc push this to the top! Love the hammock and graffiti in the underground, too!
  10. Thanks! I'll try to finish those between now and end of spring. I'll get distracted time and again though. In fact, this was a 2-day procrastination build in itself.
  11. I wonder if that type of hood is going to be exclusive to Zane, or if the other ninja will get theirs as well, as some kind of NRG form.
  12. Fantastic! You could also take the one from Elasticgirl, btw. If you mange to digitalize it, could you let me know via tag or PM? Thanks in advance!
  13. Thanks, Kai! I like that you mention the reflection, because I tried various rooms house to find the spot where the light hit the trans tiles just the way I wanted it. Thank you, guys! I spent quite a bit of time on fig (and peddle) posing to make the scene come to life. Hearing this is worth a lot, Henjin! I didn't have to look far for inspiration for this one: I'm lucky enough to see this kind of landscape from by bedroom; it's just across the street as you can see in the background here. The bushes beneath the trees were quite essential to tie the layers together, btw. I thought having the tan reeds here would work for Moruth, which is often more green and darker. The dragon I consider as a (adult) tamed flying lizard, btw. The swamps of Nocturnus are full of biodiversity, they are more like jungles (look at the artwork here), but imo animal/monster biodiversity has been underrepresented in many Nocty swamp builds. That's why I threw it in, more as an afterthought. Noticed the spider as well? No, Zotharith hasn't vanished, don't worry! There's some more of the Civil War that I want to illustrate with builds. The official Guild lore has 'top-down' covered the war almost sufficiently (the main leaders and battles stuff), but I want to add a 'bottom-up' perspective (citizens being attacked, small pockets of fighting), so to say, to make the impact on a daily-life level more pronounced. Thanks! You're right, 9/10 times Nocty water has been built with opaque dark green, lime or black. I much prefer transparent water and I bet others do too, but trans (clear, brown, or green) is just hard come by in larger quantities (same goes for tiles in general, leaves, etc...) with a limited budget. I got ahold of that last two years, so behold the fruits of that acquiry! I'm a proud Nocty, I'll keep the builds and lore coming! Well, I portrayed his troops, so I hope I did them justice. And of course his swamp builds have more than a little inspired me to do this build.
  14. Wow, crazy good flex functionality! There's one particular piece that I have been waiting for to be added, and seeing this post, I thought maybe it would now be possible for it to be added to Mecabricks? It's the torso with flexible arms: https://brickset.com/parts/6173150/mini-upper-part-no-3585 The flex arms can be pulled through the torso, as shown in this Jang review screenshot:
  15. Sorry, that doesn't anwer my question. Let me rephrase my question: For cat. B, do you have to build a new MOC plus a bennyfied version of that MOC? So 2 MOCs for the entry? Or can I just build a bennyfied version of an existing MOC of mine? Which would mean 1 MOC for the entry.
  16. "Kitchen sink fantasy" It's more like a cocktail of successful new and old genres and concepts. Sometimes it works well, sometimes it's weird, but ultimately it's more than the sum of its ingredients. The golden snake mummy pharaoh sorceress looks great. Never considered egyptian design elements for Ninjago, but actually it seems like a really good idea.
  17. The way it is written suggests that you have to build a new (not previously posted) MOC and a bennyfied version of that MOC, is that correct? Or, can I take after an existing (and posted) MOC of mine? On a completely unrelated note: isn't it time to get a sci-fi banner without zombies?
  18. Have you guys seen the City Mars torsos? There's a white and an orange one with similar prints, and they are really good! The vibe is realistic near-future!!
  19. Onwards, to the Moruth Higlands! The Civil War of Nocturnus was yet to reach its climax. Lord Raavage had moved into the Rakath Mountains to retrieve the Necromancer's Helm, accompanied by a strong military force to ensure the perilous descent into the underworld was victorious. With part of Raavage's attention and strength diverted, the forces of the Resistance moved to the heart of Nocturnus - the Moruth Highlands - by the thousands, to strike the Black Spire as hard as they could. Gal-Turok's army split up in numerous groups, each heading their own way through the Moruth Swamplands. One such group had almost crossed the Moruth, when they ran into a checkpoint. Guard In the name of Shadowmere, I require you to state your name and business! Goblin chief I have orders not to answer to mere minions. Let us pass, or bring me your superior! Guard Well, aren't we being a little rough, Southerner - Guard 2 - He will be here shortly. Messenger Sorry to keep you waiting, sirs. Our chief is busy at the moment, but I can authorise you to pass if - Goblin chief - Authority or not, the battle is out there, and we gotta go! Messenger Hang on, hold up! I have intel on what's up ahead, but first I need you to verify you are men of Gal-Turok. Goblin chief Isn't that obvious then? Messenger I'm terrible sorry to tell you this, but there have been reports of complete goblin squadrons resurrected by the Spire, sir. That news had to settle. The goblin chief promply removed his helmet. Goblin chief ... Unbelievable, that can't be! How... vile, they are! Alright, here is my seal ring. I can assure you my men are alive, even if some don't seem like they are, and we are twenty-four in total; six canoes. Messenger That's all I needed to know, sir. Please proceed! Goblin chief My men, we are moving! Thank you.. eh- Messenger -Keruem, sir. Be wary of the friends who are foes. Goblin chief We will... --- Hi, here's another scene from the Nocty Civil war (previous one: Ambush in the Rakath). I hope you like it!
  20. There's a specific thread for this: https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/55712-lego-store-build-a-minifigure/ Don't hesitate to share your finds there!
  21. I'm no expert, but I believe this is what it boils down to: In the 'regular' LEGO building system, moulds may get updated to improve stability and/or reduce plastic (in other words: increase efficiency), and completely new ones are designed only when no existing part will do the trick in a certain design situation. However, the 'minifigure system' (which plays a huge role in action, adventure and licensed themes) and the CCBS system, are driven by innovation and production of new moulds. Variations on a common theme generate collectability. This applies to anything from hair pieces, torso designs, cloth pieces, armour, weaponry, utensils, moulded animals... and the list goes on. @Aanchir wasn't raising a point about gender, but about people having different perspectives and different tastes of what they like to collect or build. The moulded vs brick-built debate is an excellent example of how some people like to collect animals (quite high accuracy and style consistency, low build value), and others who like to build animals (high build value, low accuracy and/or consistency).
  22. It only includes parts from the current season. I made a list that covers parts available from 2017, 2018 and 2019, but note that it excludes interesting parts that I already purchased: https://puu.sh/CCfRF/e6bc3397bd.pdf. This is priceless!
  23. Oh, didn't notice that! I haven't learned the Ninjago alphabet by heart (..yet?). So the consistency is in part just coincidental. Certainly! Ninja vs elemental masters/imposters would be great to see. Team vs team would be a fresh change from team vs army.
