  1. I'm pleased to have surprised you! I always go for originality, so from the start I knew I would pick something obscure, not seen in sets or even in MOCs before. I tend to work with the muted colours a lot, so I was happy to use my bright green and regular green for once. I've been ambitious with this one, indeed. The elaborate, bold colour scheme works, but the colour blocking was challenging. And, because I wanted to make a set, the many different 'zones' are much more packed together then they would be in a MOC, so 'zone blocking' was also necessary. On top of that, I tried to be part-efficient and have a sound structure. Plenty of challenges!
  2. I'd say we can alter our voting if we desire so.
  3. Well, you succeeded in this. Your revamp actually makes more sense then the original one did, because how in the world would a thing made of golden blades glide?? This one on the other hand is simply a weaponized jetpack, like this one, which makes perfect sense!
  4. It's black, actually. The ID is 28220, the set it comes in is https://brickset.com/sets/76118-1/Mr-Freeze-Batcycle-Battle. @anothergol well, I missed some of those, but others I simply wasn't interested in buying. DBG nipple could be really useful, though!
  5. Nice little mech! The neon green canopy was a good idea and would be the first for a Ninjago set. It suits Jay's new energy colour, too. I also like the blaster on the left.
  6. One things for sure, you haven't forgotten how to build good MOCs. Ah, I see. I can imagine it is more effective with less depth of field.
  7. I updated my brick list with the June releases (go to page 15): https://puu.sh/DAAPb/486485bff3.pdf, and I placed an order. I'm most looking forward to receiving my puma (from the mountain police HQ), and the brand-new Ninjago pieces!
  8. The wizards arrive always late it seems, despite their own claims. This is marvelous! You improved colour scheme tenfold, with the tan, dark tan and dark green! The terrain is striking, the exterior and interior architecture have been refined (loooooove the 'waffle' windows! ) and still you managed to retain the opening feature (although you need to remove some grass stalks, right? ). Hats off!
  9. @MKJoshA Oh damn, thanks a lot! The Ninjago parts aren't even prohibitively expensive this time!
  10. Nice MOC tribute to original set, I like the pier and rockwork base!
  11. Well, it's tall, I'll tell you that! The rockwork and stairs are fantastic! I'm not a fan of the lighthouse itself to be honest, but I should mention that I'm not a fan of microscale either. Maybe the walls need a bit more texture, altough the cracks are a good effort. Perhaps I would have liked it better if you would have cut off the rocks somewhere around where the lonely gull is sitting, and then made a minifig scale tower on that base. However, then you would have competed with @kritch in the same scale, plus the rockwork itself would have looked less impressive... Ah well, keep up the good work!
  12. I'm all for obscure source material! The rickshaw is quite accurate and it's nice to see the original gi used here. The tan unikitty tails used as dust trails are new to me, but personally I think it's not the most convincing way of portraying dust trails. The terrain is fine, the only thing that looks off is the tree on the left. It's shaped kind of like a tear drop, but to it's side, and it's complexity is rather contrasting to the sleek palm tree. Anyway, these are minor comments, the overall scene is still pleasing to the eye.
  13. This is just adorable! I don't see a way how you could have improved this build more, it's as complete as it gets at this scale. The opening gate, lipstick pillars and decorated window/paper wall at the back are nice details!
  14. Possibly the most believable moc-up set entry in this contest, great job to the two of you! Bonus points for the product shot! I wouldn't be surprised if you get a message from TLG, asking you to put a clear "FAN MODEL" watermark over it.
  15. I made it, with time to spare, even! Stone Army Tomb Invasion: https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/171804-legacy-stone-army-tomb-invasion/
  16. Stone Army Tomb Invasion Buried deep under Ninjago City lies an ancient remnant of the early days of Ninjago: the Stone Army Tomb. One of Overlord's legions was stored in this catacomb, but that changed when the venom of the Great Devourer seeped into the tomb and awakened the Stone Army. After the Final Battle, the Serpentine moved into the tomb, vowing to abandon all violence and live their lives secluded from the rest of Ninjago, civilised and peacefully. However, the ninja came knocking on the door, ignorant of the evil that was following in their wake... 70XXX: Stone Army Tomb Invasion The ninja and Nindroids have infiltrated the new home of the Serpentine, the former Stone Army Tomb. Take a stroll down the beatitfully terraformed tomb, open the sealed gate to the ancient Stone warrior statues, or sit back and relax in Lasha's attic! The set* includes 8 minifigures: From left to right: a Nindroid, Min-droid possessed by the Overlord, Jay, Kai, Lasha, Acidicus, a Scout statue and a Warrior statue. Play out scenes from episode 30: The Curse Of the Golden Master! The set* measures 38 x 13 cm (48 x 16 studs) and is 11 cm tall It consists of a very roughly estimated 850 pieces and conveniently retails for 79.99 USD / 79.99 EUR. *Also, it's not a real set. My entry to the Legacy contest! Ninjago is by far my favorite theme, so I was stoked to get building! As you can see, it's based on a location that hasn't been seen in set form. Here is what it looks like in the show: In my opinion, it's one of the most beautiful settings in the world of Ninjago, so I can only hope I have done justice to it! I tried to incorporate as many features from the Stone Army Tomb as possible, but I also took some artistic liberties here and there (most notably Lasha's attic). Close-ups and other additional pictures can be found on my Flickr, here. Hope you like it! By the way, here my entry to the Polybag contest, in case you missed it. Best of luck in the contest to everyone! C&C appreciated!
  17. That is such a nice thing to say (and I haven't heard it often!), thanks! Well, there is a lot of depth that is not obvious from the front. I think it's a also just a matter of advertising. I could see a $59.99 price tag work, especially if it has that good selection of figures. Not everyone that participates gets a badge, no. They are awarded as a prize, otherwise it would be a little too easy to get them. Keep an eye out, I've just finished photographing. Editing will take some time, though... But I'll give you something to chew on: it's a playset involving moer then two factions. I didn't check the file and album the first time, but now that I've seen it, I'm more amazed at the overall model and the features! Also, it's a wonderful experience to have someone else's build in LDD. Sweet!
  18. It's akin to pure colour swap, but does look fine. The golden blades and spikes are signature for Ninjago, would fit right in with Kai's other vehicles.
  19. I have a bias to location based sets, so this sparks joy! Excellent job on the LDD entry! The shaping, angles, composition, colours and details are all good! Immediately screams ToE to me. It seems like you can even link multiple copies up to create more of a circle? Shame that things went as they went. Truth to be told, the physical model looks not as good, by a long shot. As far as I can tell, the digital build is almost entirely comprised of pieces in existing colours (except for some gold parts), so maybe some day?
  20. This is really good, especially like the back with that insanely big red-rimmed wheel, chains and flaming exhaust pipes. The red mohawk on the new style skulkin heads looks badass, too!
  21. I think so too. So is arguing over the presence of knees in mechs, I hope you are aware of that.
